• installing the samples on developer days VM

  Hi all

  I downloaded the developer day Virtual Machine with Oracle Linux 6.5 and the database server Oracle 12 c. Soon, I found the example missing like HR diagrams

  To install them, I downloaded the linuxamd64_12c_examples.zip of 12 c Release 1 for Linux x 86-64 Oracle database.

  However, the Installation of the examples of

  ORACLE_BASE: / u01/app/oracle (default)

  and

  Software localization: /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/db_home_1/

  fails with two INS-errors:

  INS-32025: the chosen installation is in conflict with software already installed in the given Oracle home

  and

  INS-52001: examples of data Oracle can be installed in an existing Oracle home

  Everything is done while connected as user Oracle.

  Are you sure the diagrams example are 'missing '?

  A normal installation of 12 c, which includes an example DB should install the samples in the PDB - whose default name is PDBORCL. If you just connect ot ORCL you connect to the CBD (the root container) and you won't find examples here.

  Just in case that's the issue see my answers to these two threads on CDBs and the PDB files and problems to know if you are new to multi-tenancy 12 c.

The fact that I can't find anything that indicates a charge does not mean that this event is free. I might have overlooked. So I think that prevention is better than cure. Actally, I sent a NI Marketing Manager (who sent a broadcast e-mail to many people, including me) on 25 April. Unfortunately, I don't have nothing heard back yet. I think that my email could have fallen a crack... Because I'm really thinking about the possibility to record the webcast event, I'm going with the last resource - post a question on the Discussion Board OR. Someone there may be able to help me.

• Shared codebase for both mobile and web applications?

  I have developed a mobile application for a while now. It works on iOS and Android, as well as on the desktop as an AIR application. That's great and I'm very excited about it. However, last week asked me why I could not export a version of the application that had occurred within a web browser. I said that I assumed I could and I'd look into it.

  But why would you want to run mobile code on the desktop?

  Two reasons:

  • A greater code reuse. This is not sensible in all cases, but it does in many case. (I will not elaborate because I think that this goes without saying.) If you do not agree I'd be happy to talk but I would rather not clog this description with it).
  • Demos of client quick or easy. Rather than having to install an apk or an ipa on a mobile device, I can just send a URL.

  So what I found? Well, from what I've tried so far... He... does not work. Or rather, I was not able to make it work.

  I started by creating a Flex library for all shared code project. Then I created 2 application projects referring to a TI - one mobile and one for the web. The mobile project works very well, but the web project does not work. Here is what I tried so far to make it work:

  • I tried to add mobilecomponents.swc and mobile.swc to my web project theme that Flash Builder knows MobileSkin (and other mobile classes only). This allows my application to compile, but when I run it immediately throws a runtime within UIComponent error: VerifyError: Error #1014: flash. text::StageText of the class could not be found. I have found very little on this errorand the one tip that I found (addition of the -swf-version = 13 the compiler option) does not work.

  • I tried to use conditional compilation to control which my skin inherited from the class components: MobileSkin or SparkSkin. It was just a quick experiment to see if it worked. I know it's disgusting and not a production solution. However, my thought was that if MobileSkin was really just an optimized version of SparkSkin, my skins should be correct inheriting from either. It worked not far-app wouldn't compile b ' c right some methods were absent (e.g. layoutContents) and so I bailed out on it because she felt dirty first.

  • I tried to replace MobileSkin with UIComponent as the super class for all my skins thinking MobileSkin was probably just a lightweight subclass of UIComponent anyway. This approach resulted in the compiler errors first (e.g. no method of layoutContents measuredDefaultWidth/measuredDefaultHeight properties, addChild vs addElement, etc.). Once these issues have been resolved in the updated app, but crashed with errors of execution within the method 'getState' of UIComponent. (Resembles MobileSkin overrides this method to prevent the default behavior of UIComponent.)

  If none of these approaches worked for me so far... but what for you guys? I have no hope Adobe reading this thread or respond in some way, but I'd like to hear from others in the community. Have you encountered this problem yet? Have you been able to make it work or can you spot any obvious omissions that I made in the methods I mentioned above by train? Thanks in advance if you can.

  Update: I was able to make progress with the first route above: added mobilecomponents.swc and mobile.swc for my web project theme

  It turns out that this Flash Builder, had brought me wrong in that regard. Adding mobile SWCs to your library with the parameter "merged into code" project translates the compiler warning:

  The swc "/ Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6/sdks/4.6.0/frameworks/themes/Mobile/mobile.swc ' a default style and is located in the path of the library, i.e. the dependencies will be linked in without styles.  This can cause applications that use the swc output to have lack of skins.  The EFA should be implemented with external-library-path.

  Seeing this the first time, I changed my link on "External" type and warning went off. Then in my project web, I also added the mobile SWCs and set the type to link on "merged into code" it. Flash Builder seemed happy with that approach, but when running my application I had weird errors (as mentioned above).

  It turns out that my first attempt was the right way. Set the type of link on the library to "merged into code" project and then do not add a link to your web project. Flash Builder will warn you in this topic but ignore the warning. Things seem to work pretty well most of the time now! I have a question or two to watch (ex. list component doesn't scroll) but things look pretty promising overall!

  Did you remove all traces of high level in the layers (i.e. "layer-1") Panel?

  When something like you describe is reported, most often the user does not understand the layers of high level exist across all pages and updates on the page of your site. If you delete "Layer 1" you may remove the content of all pages of your site.

  I don't know what cursor does not respond, you use? If its does not then uses a reagent. There are several options available to use if you use Google. Some people also use little as the code I posted (obviously they will not work unless you have the js and css that have and trigger the plugin)-it's what Ben was referring too. I was referring just clumsy code that Bootstrap provides the carousel and would rather link to the js and css files to keep my HTML logical and manageable, easy for me to understand and solve problems.

  If you have time maybe through this tutorial. Once you have the idea of how to create your own sensitive code, then you can make a better judgment in regard to if you want to use a framework or prefer to have everything under your control.

  Are you talking about placing Google map on the Mobile page created in Muse? If so you can do this by either using 'Google Map Widget', either by placing the "Embedded Code" created in any site map.

  Last week, I decided to create a mobile version of one of my Web sites. I thought it would be a relatively easy task, but I quickly realized there is more that meet the eye.

  Without going into all the details (for example questions from the media, etc.), this is the strategy I ended up with...

  First step:

  I used this script to detect a mobile device...

  I know that I could use the media queries or any number of other methods, but this one appeared to require the minimum of effort. For example, the media seems so complicated because I make sure I have the list of possible devices that can check out my Web site. The script above simply says, if the screen is small, view the mobile Web site. The downside is the person with the mobile device needs to have Javascript enabled, but very few people turn it off.

  Second step:

  I designed a special website for the mobile device.

  I could have created special CSS for each page to my Web site, but people don't want to read all the content I have on my Web site in any case, at least not on a mobile device. It was much easier to create a little site for mobile devices instead of make a huge CSS file to convert all my pages.

  Because there are so many options when you create a mobile Web site, I just wanted to see if everyone here thinks I did it the right way or would you recommend an alternative?

  Also, I saw that he sent several times that I should include a link to the 'full version' of my site at the bottom of my mobile Web site.   Separate sites for the version complete mobile vs is the best method. Just synchronize the data dynamically from database. Depending on the complexity of your site, the setting is completely different for a mobile version. Much, much more than just a style some conditional css rules. Device for side detection Server allows to redirect mobile users to the mobile version, which is usually a completely different directory or same site... ie. m.example.com mobile and example.com for the version complete.

  Similarly, you would use the reciprocal method of detecting device for side supported server to redirect anone who is NOT on a device to the full version if they visited the complete mobile URL from a web browser. You can use a cookie with detection on the server to allow the user to "switch" to the version side full and vice versa. Where if the cookie is not set and the device is mobile, then directly on the mobile device and display the button to switch to a comprehensive site that sets the cookie. Much of/and/of/ifelse/instructions if else going on there, but it can be done easily. I hope you get the point.

  I have a mobile and an office for a current Web site.

  I used the tags contained to link all areas of text etc Office mobile available.

  We have a sales page that offers 8 listings of horses for sale, each of them have a Photo Gallery. Is is possible or how do I get the photos from the photo gallery to post a link on the disposal of funds available to mobile.

  My client will change pictures for each photo gallery using Adobe to browser-editing on the desktop and only wants to update the photos in one place (not having to do desktop and mobile) - so I need the photos to be updated automatically from the desktop to the mobile.

  I also want to be able to do this with the main joint photo gallery.

  Unfortunately, I discovered that it is not possible yet.  I have a similar problem with a client of mine restaurant and a menu that updates every day.

  If your accommodation with the catalyst of the company, the method would be to connect your site through catalyst for the company, click on change and go to the gallery.  Click on the images, you need to update and track orders.  When your done with the desktop version, click the drop-down list at the top of the page to move from the desktop to the mobile provision and repeat the process.

  Pain in the back for sure.

  It is up to you to decide if the functionality offered by ADF Essentials is good enough for your needs or you need some things that adds the complete ADF (for example, the control data for the Web or Mobile ADF service).

  I downloaded a trial of 30 days of Muse and so far, I'm really impressed by the way the software works and how it is easy to use. I have a question regarding the management of the Office of Muse, mobile and Tablet versions of the site.

  Muse, of course, does not provide any web design based sensitive so I left thinking how does this impact myself if I have a blog on the site. I don't really want to update my mobile, Tablet and desktop site every time I add a new content item? Is there an easy way to handle this? Maybe a Blogs external service such as wordpress that someone on a phone / tablet would be directed to the area of wordpress Web site. Maybe that would automatically scale down to screen size problems. I'm not sure, can someone please add their views / comments.

• IM new web design and need advice

  Im very new web site design and need some advice. Ive been designing with Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign for a few years and say im at a high level of proficiency with them.

  I am now wanting to move in design for the web. I just learned html and css and I'm learning Flash and Dreamweaver. I have so many questions that I put everything at once.

  The first question is how all of these de-it-ur-self sites using CMS affect the market of the Web designers? It reduces demand for web designers because most people will now be able to build their own Web site using templates.

  Secondly, what languages/programs, and in what order do you think would be useful for someone like me who wants to double as a graphic designer/web designer to know.

  I went to see a professor on the subject and he said that if I am primarily a designer (who am) as opposed to a developer I should just learn html, css and javascript. But others said that, beyond the creative skills of a designerit is very useful for a freelance or someone in the job market learn MySLQ, ASP, coldfusion, PHP, and many others.

  Please give me advice. Your suggestions will be much appreciated.

There are very many companys who want professional web developers with a unique design and structure. You can, of course, deal with it using wordpress & co. by yourself. not as a whole structure, since it will be maybe not quite adaptable. You can use it as a structure for articles as well - on blog.banklupe.de: they designed a unique structure for the Web site and used the CMS of wordpress for the blog - and has adapted, he would comply with the CI. the advantage: wordpress is easy to use and webdesigner have better to do than post blog - writers can do themselves.

• Virtual identity plugin and file sent by default to local folders

  When you use a virtual identity, to crush my default "From" e-mail address my copies of sent email be sent to the "Local Folders" rather than the correct account sent folder.

  I had a quick glance and a play with some of the settings in the configuration editor (search for "sent"), but it seems that when I change the references in there nobody@Local%20Folders/sent to nobody@Account/sent I do not save copies of sent messages

  I never had a reply back from the developer of virtual identity.

  However, I found a solution.

  Enter the configuration editor and reset all the values found with the sent search pattern and then remove the account in question, restart thunderbird, then adding the account back.

  Then, I went in again and sought configuration editor "sent".

  I found the correct setting in the mail.identity.X.fcc_folder for the account, then copied this value in the mail.identity.defaut.fcc_folder

  Now everything works fine.
