Out of reading 2-wire 4-20mA pressure sensors using the NI9203 module

Hi all, I'm sure that a lot of people can give a response would we apply for this.

While looking at the wiring diagram on some pressure transmitters (2 wire 4-20 mA output, direct wire), that I'm about to buy, I noticed a slight inconsistency with the wiring in the NI9203 manual. Here are links to manuals for sensors:

Swagelok pressure transducers

Following the manual of NI9203, the + ve terminal of power supply (24Vdc in my case) must be connected to the Brown Terminal in the transducer and - ve supply ground COM on the NI9203. This leaves the Green Terminal in the transducer must be connected to AI0... AI7 on the NI9203 module. This provision makes perfect sense to me. However, the user for the transducer manual suggests that the Terminal green must be wired to zero volts land i.e. COM. This configuration makes less sense to me.

My question is, the internal electronics of the transducer released still the same my current for the same measured pressure given by the curves of calibration for sensor, even if the Green teminal is not connected to zero volts?

I have a hunch it's okay, but I wanted to be sure before that I lost many years spent money / bad record pressure. This should be a matter for manufacturers of sensors I know, but I found this forum is * much * more useful!

See you soon,.

Chris

Hi Chris,

The 9203 is a device for current descendant be plugged on one side common or 0 volt.  You must connect your pressure in 2 wire mode sensor.

+ 24 v DC to the positive terminal on your sensor pressure 1 terminal or brown flying lead, Terminal 2 green flying lead is connected to AIx on your 9203 and the commune of the 9203 connected to 0 Volts on your power supply.

All 2-wire device used in a current input down is still as cable + volts then 2-wire device + then then 2-wire device - (or 0) then HAVE + then common then 0 volt.

In my experience the 9203 can be rather prone to noise pick up devices with 2 sons and need a suitable clean power supply.  For 2-wire devices, I take 1024 readings and then averaged to reduce noise.

See you soon

  • How and where should I go to find out how to configure my joystick so I can use the joystick to use the flight simulation game that I bought from microsoft?

I can't find out how to configure my joy (attack3) stick to play Flight Simulator. I don't want to use the keyboard on my computer to steal the game... Where can I find the instructions on how to configure and use the joystick?

    Hello

    1. what happens when you connect the joy stick?

    2. do you get an error message?

    3. what version of Windows are you using?

Perform the steps mentioned below and check if that helps:

    Step 1:

Flight Simulator x: using a gamepad

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=16624

    Step 2:
Usually, vista Windows 7 will find and automatically install the necessary drivers when you plug your game controller into your computer.

    (a) connect the joystick to the USB port via the adapter.

    (b) see if it is detected.

    (c) Windows should recognize the new hardware and set in place to work properly.

If this isn't the case, install the relevant drivers for gamepad for the manufacturers Web site.

    Step 3:

I suggest the following steps and check for the device.

    1. in Control Panel, open game controllers. To do this, use one of the following methods:

    a. click Start, typejoy.cpl in the Search box and press ENTER.

    2. click on your game controller, and then click Properties.

    3. on the Test tab, test the game controller to verify functionality.

I have some PDF files created using the Bookmarks pane left unresolved - that is to say the Bookmarks pane is open whenever I open the file. This means that the display of the actual page is too small to read.  I can close the Favorites bar and everything is OK.

However, I use the index search function a lot - I have an .idx indexing file a bunch of PDF files, and I have search in PDF files with this index.

If I search something, then select a search link, the file opens with the shutter open bookmarks.  If I close the Bookmarks pane after searching a something * kaboom *.  Player crashes.

BTW, it also blocks if I resize the window - so I can't even increase the size of the page without closing the Bookmarks pane.

I'll see if a co-worker can use his copy of Acrobat Pro to edit the files, close the Bookmarks pane and re-save the files.  But in the meantime, this is a very annoying bug.

Works on Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit.

Open the drive, go to Edition-->--> Documents Preferences and select "Restore last display settings when reopening documents."

So now when you reopen the PDF with bookmarks bar you have closed earlier after checking this option, you will see the bookmarks bar is closed.

  • Certificate of scaling of pressure sensor

    Hello

My pressure sensor has the following calibration certificate:

    ---------------------                   ---------------------------

    0                             -0.275

    0                              -0.264

    Balance - 0.275s mVdc

    Sensitivity: 100.049 mVdc

    Calibration factors:

    Sensitivity = 20.01 mV/V

the = 5 VDC voltage will give a result of 0 to 100 mV

I'll use DAQ support to take the measure of pressure.

the question is: what should be the two electric and two physical quantities (IN mV/V units) that I need to enter using DAQ Assistant when you descale the pressure transducer by the method of the colon. Once again, please specify the values in mV/V units.

  • Can't remove read only attribute even using the command "Attrib - r".

I have my computer laptop configuration to dual boot Windows Vista and Windows 7.  I installed Windows 7 to see Vista, images, music files and videos Documents in its libraries.  These four files have become read recently that in Vista, and I can't remove the read-only attribute.  I tried to use the attrib command in command as suggusted in KB326549, but I get a message "access denied."  I want to be able to access these files from two operating systems so that I don't need to save the files on two hard disk partitions.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.

    Jon

By default, you have only write access to folders and files located inside your user (c:\users\yourname) directory, some hidden folders, and any file that you created.

The only time you need to write access to all files outside of this area is at this time do system administration or install a program.

This can be done easily by running some tool or install the program you use "Administrator" by right-clicking on it and clicking Run as administrator, which allow the tool access to the system.

It's the new way of doing things in Windows Vista - the system is locked, and only the programs you are running as an administrator or you request automatically the authorization are allowed to access your computer. This will prevent programs to access your computer without your knowledge.

This command "Run As Administrator" is ideal to run on Windows Explorer and command control.exe (Panel).

It is * NOT * recommended that you change the security settings to allow write access on the operating system created for files and folders, as this will significantly reduce the security of your system.

So, in essence, it becomes a question of permissions/ownership.  Here's how to deal both:

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  You can keep them in read-only to other users, customers and administrators even (although they can support themselves and access, if they wish, and it is really not that you can do to stop it except protect the file with a password by using a 3rd party product).  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • How to connect dwyer SERIES 629 differential pressure transmitter to the acquisition of data 9219 and read the signal?

    Here is my sensor
    Pressure sensor

    Here's the DAQ data sheet:

    ACQUISITION OF DATA NOR 9219

    Here are my issues:

First of all I don't know what is LO and HI exactly in the DAQ 9219 material.

Second, I don't know what pin code I should connect the DAQ sensor signal wire. PIN 4 or 5 pin? The sensor has three pins, and I guess I should connect the other two wires to the power supply.
Thirdly how to calibrate the sensor. In labview choose voltage in the wizard?

I'm pretty new in this acquisition of data and I need your help.

    Thank you

    Hi SilasIII,

Hmm well 3 sons are probably on the ground, the power and the return signal. The datasheet for the sensor says:

First of all, you need to know which model you have (4-20mA, 0 - 5V or 0-10VDC). HI refers to the return signal, LO essentially means the land of the food that feeds the sensor. Then, you must get the 13-30 VDC supply. I don't think this should be too complicated and can be a simple wall DC power. You can learn how to create a custom in DAQmx scale. I hope that this is a starting point.

    Kind regards

  • Object LVOOP read/write using the API TestStand

Is it possible to read/write a LVOOP object to a variable TestStand from LabVIEW using the API of TestStand?

SetPropertyObject() takes a green wire reference, which is incompatible with an LVOOP object.  SetValVariant(), SetValIDispatch(), and SetValInterface() seems to just write a value null of type variant.  I don't know if I use the wrong API function or if it's just not possible.

    Hi jsiegel,

That's right, it is not quite possible to what I believe, it is your intention. As mentioned, TestStand cannot create the object of LabVIEW. To make and use references of LabVIEW with TestStand, you need LabVIEW out this reference, which may then store it TestStand as an object reference. For VI requiring the obeject LabVIEW as an input, the registered object reference can be passed in. To make calls to LabVIEW classes using the class member call with a step of the VI Action instead of the call to VI for the Type.

Of course, you need both LabVIEW and TestStand 2012 or newer in order to use these functions.

  • Read only the SPI using the box USB-8451

I am using the NI USB-8451 box to read the SPI of a Honeywell digital pressure transducer data.  The difficulty comes from that part of Honeywell uses only the SPI in half-duplex mode, meaning that it only transmits data, but does not require anything beyond the appropriate chip select signal and SCLK to start transmitting its 32-bit sensor data.  To facilitate experimentation with the sensor, I bought a USB-8451 SPI Interface thinking I could easily configure the 8451 to read data from the sensor.

However, if I understand the situation, there is a problem.  The 8451 considers full duplex data, i.e. a data word must first be sent to the SPI device in question before the unit will start to transmit back data of its own.  And since the MOSI data writing periods, since this particular device starts transmitting immediately once a clock is applied, synchronizing the unused address data will cause the unit will return its data before the 8451 begins listening for data in return.  The call used by the 8451 to write read action can be divided into the individual reading and actions of writing of any kind that I could discover.

Can someone tell me if I missed something in this operation or if there is some quick tips, that I could use to be able to use the 8451 therefor?  Thank you!

    Doug G.

Exactly correct. It's nice when things are easier than expected. Hope it works as easy as it sounds.

  • How to read the worksheet for setpoint speed using the speed control (Closed Loop)

My VI is able to go through a series of speed reference points that lie in a sort of constant matrix. I have to be able to go through a series of hundreds of game points, and fill in the constant table whenever I have a new profile to test don't will not work.

I tried to use a reading of block of spreadsheet and table of Index to read values from a worksheet, but when I run the program, it does not seem to read the values in the file.

The path must be correct, but I don't know if there may be a problem of formatting with file worksheet regarding the delimiter. Or maybe not all the parameters are filled with reading block of spreadsheet.

Anyway, any help with my problem would be appreciated. I'll give the VI as an attachment to this post. Nine set points which worked with the VI are in the constant blue table, which was previously set to where the entire Long block is now fixed.

    Brandon

    Hi Brandon,.

That's right, I withdraw my previous response. I apologize to this topic.

I noticed that in your code, you select the line at index 0 instead of the first column. When you use the table to Index out of the loop block, make sure that you select the column at index 0 so you can enter the first column in the input file. This should get you 1 d table you're looking for.

  • Error 200088 using the DAQmx reading VI in a case structure

Main problem: I'm writing a VI that will read data from a data acquisition and write to a text file when I hit a button "registration". To do this, I use the VI of reading DAQmx in a while loop, which is located in a case statement (I hit the 'Save' button for the case of true), which is in another while loop. My DAQmx create Virtual channels screws are outside of the loop, so a wire goes through three structures to connect these screws to the VI DAQmx Read.

After clicking on 'Save', my VI works until I hit the "Stop" button, how I get error 200088: ' specified is not valid or does not exist. " If anyone can help me get rid of this error, that would be greatly appreciated!

I enclose my VI and an image of the error.

Secondary problem: currently, I use two different DAQmx read live: one mentioned above, which lays down: after clicking 'Save' and the other who reads data continuously to display on maps. I want to combine these two, but I don't know if this is possible given the case statement.

    Thank you!

    Hi Alexwright,

I made some quick changes to demonstrate the producer consumer loop that would be effective in your case. You want to loop of producer in the first while loop so that you use and the same closing DAQmx task. Moving a forwardthis will require some trial and effective change for your application. Please also make sure you use our debugging tools: http://www.ni.com/gettingstarted/labviewbasics/debug.htm.

    I hope this helps.

  • Reading large data using the database connectivity

    Hello

I use the Labview database connectivity toolkit to connect to my database sqlitev3 (I'm using ODBC). I just have to connect to the database (using the block of open_connection) and read all the values inside (using the select_data block). The problem is that my database is huge (about 2 GB), and I get this error:

. VI NI_Database_API.lvlib:Rec FETCH Recordset Data (R)-> NI_Database_API.lvlibB Tools Select Data.vi-> real_web.vi-> real_web.vi.ProxyCallerADO error: 0x8007000E Exception occurred in provider: not enough memory is available to complete this operation. in .vi NI_Database_API.lvlib:Rec Fetch Recordset Data (R)-> NI_Database_API.lvlibB Tools Select Data.vi-> real_web.vi-> real_web.vi.ProxyCaller

What should I do? It seems that he reads the data in the memory and it doesn't have enough space for it. When I read the data I want to write to a file.

Read it in pieces. Write each piece to the file, and then repeat with the next segment. Try to read and process all data in one shot is not very practical and you found out will not work.
