out of the blue, my computer has a message - at the bottom right - my OS is not genuine.

Computer is compaq presario F756NR notebook.  I've had this computer for 4 1/2 years with no such problems.  I bought at Best Buy with the OS on it.

He also lost the CD - DVD drive.  I find is no longer on my computer.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Your operating system is Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium. If you are running the same OS version, then you need to reactivate the key which is the back of your laptop, other wise you need is reinstall the same version of windows and activate using the key

Icon in the bottom right of my computer wireless has an orange dot on it. What is and where the green bars go? I am able to get on the internet, but it seems to be very slow. I am running Windows 7. Can anyone help?

Go to network and sharing Center, and then change the settings for the adapter. Once here look for a connection that is implemented but not used and delete. I had a virus, set up an "incoming connections". I deleted it and the icon was returned to normal. Good luck.

  • What I would do, my computer has so many unwanted programs, is to reinstall Vista and not all HP programs that I don't want.

What I would do, my computer has so many unwanted programs, is to reinstall Vista and not all HP programs that I don't want.  It seems to make the computer too slow.  I don't have a Vista disc, only the recovery CD I did in the beginning. Can I recover and just reinstall Vista, or should I get back it?
    Thank you
    Bill

    original title: recovery

If your "Vista recovery disc" is provided by the manufacturer of your computer, be it Dell, Gateway, Hewlett-Packard, etc... Then chances are he's doing a thing. Completely format your hard drive and restores your computer to the day you brought it home. It's a major nuisance for many people these days, as if you have an error and Windows says 'Please insert the Vista CD to fix it Windows' well, you do not HAVE the CD to correct the error. Your only option is a complete erasure of all data.

So, my advice is to avoid ever NEED to use the recovery CD, and if you don't... hope you have backups of your important data (which is another thing, backup your important data often!).

  • Turn off the bar at the bottom right that slides in and out

I have Windows 7 Home Premium. There is a small bar in the lower right of my screen that slides in and out if my cursor touches this area. It is very annoying because I can't resize the windows because the tab trigger is on the corner of the window. I have never seen this before this new copy of Windows 7. There choices: Auto and then a few icons of an airplane, with text of reversal which High Performance Mode, a character says market with rolling power saving Mode and a figure running that says Mode Away. I want to turn it off and I can't find anything on it. I have attached a screenshot. Of course, it's to do with the power settings but I can't find anything in the control panel to disable it. This is extremely annoying and totally unnecessary.

    Hello

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community to report the issue.

The toolbar that you see on the bottom right will be the manufacturer of your computer

(Example: for HP laptops, HP Power Assistant application will give you similar options).

What is the brand and model of the laptop?

Please go to Control Panel, search for an application / toolbar which is installed. If you find any application which is related to the toolbar, please go ahead and uninstall. If you need help to find the correct application, contact the manufacturer of the laptop.

See this link for help to uninstall the application.

Hope that the information provided is useful. Do not respond if you need more help.

  • The number of messages read and numer of messages left section (bottom right of the screen) has disappeared. How can I get it back?

Something happened... There was a square is displayed with 'date' something... and I tried to remove the screen and all of a sudden the box at the bottom right of my posts don't have playback number and left messages. What can I do to retrieve this number?

It is still there in TB38.3 here in Windows 7. (See below)

You still have the status bar?

  • Firefox 4 seems to have forgotten the small progress bar at the bottom right of the screen that shows how close you were to get the web site that you just clicked to retrieve. What happened to him?

In older versions of Firefox, there was a small rectangular window at the bottom right of the screen which got progressively filled with green squares, that your last order has been processed. This allowed you to know that the computer had received the order and close about how it would carry out the requested task. No such window does appear in Firefox 4. That has been omitted or what I have to do something to get it back?

Click on View - Toolbars - then the module Bar, and your progress bar will be there.

  • Notification of Firefox at the bottom right of the screen freezes Windows 7

It seems that recently, Firefox (and maybe pop up notifications) are freezing my computer Windows 7. I used Firefox for years without this problem. In recent weeks, I noticed that system freeze seems to happen when a Firefox pop-up notification appears at the bottom right of the screen (for example Firefox 38.0.5 is available...). The mouse will continue moving the cursor on the screen for a few seconds, then that freezes at. I get no response from the keyboard, even CTRL-ALT-DEL and start button / stop fail to restart the machine. I need to remove and replace the power cord.

Hoping that Mozilla has solved the problem I updated today to 39.0 Firefox, but when a plugin of Firefox browser introduced a notification in the lower right corner of the system froze again. I don't have this problem of gel when Mozilla Thunderbird shows a notification in the bottom right of the screen (e.g. XXXXXX received 6 new messages).

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

You will need to close and restart Firefox after enabling/disabling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your display driver graphic card and search for hardware acceleration of related issues.

  • Computer crashes to 2 or 3 minutes after startup, sometimes said "not genuine Windows".

    Hello!
    I have a Toshiba Satellite L750D. Windows 7.
Everything works fine when there is 3 months, I bought the laptop.
A few days ago, it started to happen:
The computer starts correctly, Windows starts up, watch the user login screen. Everything works well so far.
This desktop computer, runs Windows as usual. Two or three minutes later, it becomes terribly slow. So slow that just try to open Explorer takes like 5 minutes... Then the situation becomes unbearable, it's as if the computer crashes.
Then I have to stop it manually (by pressing button On / Off for 5secs).
In another time, share this problem, it appears at the bottom right of your desktop that the copy of Windows is not genuine.
I know that it is authentic, I bought the laptop and I have activated Windows correctly. But hey, this is a minor issue and only happens 1/3 of the time I try to start the computer. The main problem is that Pseudo-gel of infinite of Windows.
Start in Safe Mode does not change the problem at all. It starts well and like 3 minutes later, becomes terribly slow.
I can solve the problem somehow (running antivirus, etc.) because I can't throw soft...
Appreciate your comments on this issue,
    Best regards
    Joel Mollering

    Hello!
Thank you for the comments, but since the computer is a Toshiba, it has a default System Configuration that allows me to restore the laptop in fabric, without having to start windows.
I did, I lost a couple of files, but now everything is ok.

    Thank you
  • "Windows is not genuine" found at the bottom right of the screen. Already active Windows.

I bought a laptop and installed windows pro. Windows has been activated successfully. After two weeks, I've had my laptop replaced with a new laptop, the same model (with the same characteristics) due to a defective part of the keyboard. They removed the hard drive of my laptop and inserted in the new laptop. After that, windows is reactivated in the new laptop and the activation was successful. Installed windows updates regularly.

Two weeks later, after playing a game online, I saw a message from 3 lines at the bottom right of the screen with the last line, saying "Windows is not genuine". I forgot the first two lines, because when I open my computer system properties, I checked that the glass is always enabled, and at this time when the System Properties window has been opened, the message of 3 lines down to the right of the screen suddenly disappeared.

After that, I checked the windows update and installed the updates available and it is ok. Since yesterday I have not seen the message more. It came to my mind that, at the time the message appeared, is 30 days from when I activated all first windows.
I just want to clarify if it was just a bug, or wrongly identified my OS as genuine microsoft?
If it was just a bug, this message will appear soon? Hope someone can clarify it.
    Thank you.

Well, your report does not indicate that everything is bad:

But your date will not, today, it's the 19th, not 20.

Hello, this looks like a problem possibly caused by malicious software on your pc. Please go to firefox > addons > extensions and remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, the things that you have not installed intentionally, I don't know what purpose they serve, etc.). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or software potentially unwanted here and made a complete analysis of your system with the security software you have in place and various other tools such as the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

Remove a toolbar that has supported your Firefox or the homepage search

  • Small windows opened by Web sites went upstairs to the left at the bottom right on a pc

The small windows allowed that sometimes pop up when I click on a link in, say, a Web site of the Bank, always used to appear in the upper left corner of the screen. But since last month, or so they started appearing in lower-right instead. (I don't know whether or not it was parallel with the update of FF 3.6.15 to 3.6.16).

I can move a window individual back manually to the top left corner, but I want to repeat here opening by default, as they always correctly on my another FF 3.6.16 pc.

I tried all kinds of travel, window resizing, etc., but that has no effect on where they open next time. All click-product allowed small windows are always open at the bottom right at the place at the top left because they always used (and still do on my other FF 3.6.16 pc).
