Outlook express send e-mail, get the error message, but no error send copies but listed 6.

Home-Internet Outlook Express 6 XP Windows. Have a Norton Security System. When an e-mail is sent, an error message appears "Please consult the list of errors below for more details", none are listed. The e-mail is sent and appears also in the output area to be send. The e-mail message is received to the person, it is sent, but there are 6 copies of them. Sometimes, a box on the bottom appears Norton, checking emails. It appears, at this point, all 6 are treated through Norton. The file send list however one as being sent.

You have apparent dbx file corruption.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox, and then create the new box of sent, and sent items files after you move the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them.  New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

  • Cannot send e-mail in Outlook Express 6 - get the error ' Server error: 250, error number: 0x800CCC7D'. "

I can receive e-mail in Outlook Express 6 ok, but when I try to send an email I get the following error message - "the server does not support an SSL connection. Account: 'pop3.live.com', server: 'smtp.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, server response: 250 OK', Port: 25, secure (SSL): Yes, Server error: 250, error number: 0x800CCC7D "."

If I go to accounts/properties/Advanced and uncheck the box "this server requires a secure connection (SSL)" to "Mail outgoing (SMTP)", I get the error message - "the message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was ' * address email is removed from the privacy *'. ' Object 'Test message', account: 'pop3.live.com', server: 'smtp.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, server response: ' 530 5.7.0 must issue a STARTTLS command first ', Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 530, error number: 0x800CCC78'.

The only thing I changed on my PC recently is IE - updated to IE8.
I don't know if that's related to this problem. I use Outlook Express 6 occasionally for sending email, so I don't know whether or not this problem started when I upgraded to IE8. My ISP is MSN.

Try to use port 587 for the outgoing server, ensuring that 'this server requires a secure connection' is checked.

  • Outlook Express: Unable to connect to the mail server! (error 0x800CCC90)

original title: Outlook Express: unable to connect to the mail server!

Im trying to get my outlook express to receive and send messages from my live.com account but it comes back with: the server responded with an error. Account: "Live.com', Protocol: POP3, server response:'-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC90."

Someone knows how to fix this? I tried to remove and add the account again using IMAP instead of POP3, but still get an error message, the e-mail address and the password are all correct and I think that ive got the right to Server (live.com?) Im not exactly computer so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will find the right settings for an account on this page live.com: send and receive Hotmail from an e-mail application. To change your settings, select Tools > accounts > {account} > properties and make right onto the tabs of servers and Advanced entries.

[I moved your question on the forum just for Outlook Express issues.] You should not notice a difference].

I'm using Outlook 2002 on the XP Pro operating system.

It lasts for almost a year, but I managed to work around the issue since it was started using a different outgoing SMTP user name and the password.  (More settings, outgoing server tab, log in using...)  Now it has stopped working.

Everytime I try sending mail through Gmail FF 18.1, I constantly get the error message "you action failed. Please try again ". I have to use the HTML view in Gmail that I really hate. I tried the Mode without failure of Firefox as well but not good. Please fix this for me.

This can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are not sent or otherwise blocked.

Clear the cache and cookies from sites that cause problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

If clearing cookies doesn't work, then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other files to present as cookie cookies.sqlite - journal in the profile folder of Firefox in the case where the cookies.sqlite file has been corrupted.

Your Inbox may be damaged.  Try to move all messages from the Inbox to another folder or just move the (hidden) inbox.dbx file to another directory with OE closed, and then when you open OE will create a new.  See if that fixes things.  If this isn't the case, please cite the complete error message.

  • Outlook Express keeps coming out of the emails in the Outbox even after sending e-mails to friends.

Outlook Express keeps coming out of the emails in the Outbox even after sending emails to friendsthen continues to send emails over and over again.

This occurs even after the email was deleated from Outbox. So that the people that I send to obtain email 20 - 30 times instead of only once.

Can someone help me solve this problem? I have Microsoft XP Professional on my computer.  Thank you.

A common cause of this is to have your program configured antivirus to analyze the messages, including outgoing mail.  If you can completely uninstall the AV program, and then reinstall it without the analysis feature mail.  If you can't do that, turn off scanning messages.  You will be just as safe.

  • Cannot receive or send mail using the Windows Mail get 0x800CCC18 error number

Cannot receive or send mail using the Windows Mail get 0x800CCC18 error number
Windows mail was working fine until about 2: 30 EST 2011-12-14 and tried to send an email and got the above error msg.

Check with your mail service provider to make sure that there is not an intermittent interruption of service.  If you have webmail capabilities, you can also check.  Otherwise, compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and if that doesn't help, remove your e-mail account, close and reopen WinMail and then add it back back.  Also check 3rd party program interference such as antivirus software (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).

Here are the error messages I receive:

    AddressBook:

"Unable to open the address book. The AddressBook is may not be installed correctly. »

    Create a Mail:

It has a similar error with the same triangle window, but the text reads,

    Answer:

The same error as box create a message.

    Before:

    Also:

Right-click to highlight an error window or page does not work, then make a left click to copy does not work...

Try to go to file | Identities and setup a new identity.  Then, add your account and see if it works then.  If they do, use the file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.

Windows Mail is not refreshing since 09/02/2012.  When I try to update using the F5 key, I get the error messages.  The only way I can see me new emails is to sign on the web page of my Internet service provider, which I don't like.

It would be useful that Microsoft has put a notice to have several products access our email accounts so that us non-technical people could avoid these problems.

Maybe it's something that Apple should warn the consumer. I have three e-mail accounts and I receive and send all the accounts on three different computers at the same time and have never had this problem. Your case is the first.

This means that your e-mail program is not configured to send email, or he has a problem doing so.  Can you give us some details on what email program you use and what kind of email account that you have?  Also, please post the error message all Word for Word, just as it appears on your screen.
