Outlook icon

Outlook icon disappeared from my office. I don't find it in my list of programs.

How to restore the shortcut?

Thank you

Len urban

How did he disappear?  You have installed Windows 7 as a new installation?  If so, you will need to install Office.

If not and the application is actually still installed, you can drag a shortcut on your desktop for the actual executable file...

1. open an Explorer window and navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11 (it will be OFFICE12 if you run Office 2007).
2. scroll down until you see OUTLOOK. EXE (the extension can be hidden, this type is application).
3. with the right mouse button, drag OUTLOOK on your desktop and drop it.
4. When you are prompted, choose to create a shortcut here.

I hope this helps.

  • MS Outlook icon / shortcut icon problems

I'm trying to figure out what I did to corrupt my MS Outlook icon.

I know that I myself asked the problem dragging MS Outlook since the MS office folder in the start/programs menu on my desktop to create a shortcut. I tried dragging the icon in the start/programs menu folder, but that did nothing.
Currently, the Outlook icon is the icon of the generic program. In addition, Outlook is no longer present in the start menu in the program folder. The program itself works very well and its icon is currently on the desktop (I found this by doing a search windows and creating a shortcut from there. This icon in the windows search is also messed up).
I don't know how to get back on this problem. Fitness is not an option, nor is the system restore (because there is no restore points).
    Thank you!

    Hello

I suggest you that you rebuild icon cache.

    a. Click Start, click Control Panel, and write in the search options for files box.

    b. now, click on Folder Options to open and select folders and hidden files (dot).
    c. open a Windows Explorer window.
    d. go to C:\Users\(User Name) \AppData\Local
    e. right click on IconCache.db and click on delete.
    f. click Yes to confirm the deletion.

NOTE: This removes the file to the trash. It is safe to empty the trash when you are done.

    g. close the window.
    h. emptying the trash.
    i. restart the computer.
    j. When you come back, you will notice the size of the file IconCache.db is reduced, and the update is now the current date.

NOTE: If for some reason any IconCache.db isn't there or the size has not much changed then you can just restart the computer again. You may need to restart a few times in some cases.

    k. cache icon goes rebuilds.

  • How can I add an outlook icon in my task bar 8 windows?

Please someone told me how I can add the outlook icon on my task bar 8 windows. I can't access the full outlook account via the mail application. It looks completely different when connect you to the internet, so I would like to add the link to my taskbar. I managed a shortcut on my desktop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll assume you want to say rather Outlook.com , Microsoft Office Outlook here.   :)

    1. Open Desktop IE10.

    2. connect you & go in your Inbox Outlook.com .

    3. left-click on the Outlook.com tab and (while keeping the left mouse button) drag the tab down on your taskbar, and then release the mouse button.

(originally the icon as a standard Internet Explore 'e', but after a few seconds should change the icon of Outlook.com .)

Note the useful task choices available when you right click on your new icon in the taskbar Outlook.com too.

  • Outlook shortcut icon does not open

When I try to access outlook via a shortcut on my desktop, I get a message (this application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect).

I can still access my e mail when I go to outlook directly.  I have another shortcut on my desktop, but get the same message and outlook with no open.  Any

    suggestions.

    Thank you

    Original title: Office Outlook shortcut

You can get this message because you have 2 Outlook icons on the desktop.

You can create a 'New' folder on the desktop. Just leave name in the new folder. Open the folder. If it opens full screen cursor movement on one side until it then turns to an arrow.  Left click and hold to drag this side where she is half screen. Then an icon 'Outlook' of the left click and hold. That drag to the folder. Close the folder and see if the remaining desktop icon opens Outlook.

    Come back.

  • All icons changed to and will Outlook open, error message "command line argument is not valid."

I have been using Windows 7 and Office 2010 since the beginning of this year. Suddenly, I have a problem.

All my software program icons (shortcuts and start menu) moved somehow to be the Outlook icon. When you try to open Outlook and any other program, I get the message "cannot start Microsoft Outlook. The command line argument is not valid. Check the switch you are using. »

None of the software opens. This is true for Microsoft products and software from other companies.  The only way I can open/use some of my software is to go to the file and open it from there. How can I solve this problem?

I tried to use my Office CD to repair the software, but nothing has changed.  I tried to go into the properties of the icon to see if the problem can be corrected for other software but the links are to the correct files and the icon will not change.   Nothing I've tried works.  Even in Control Panel administrative tools are not open (they have also been changed to have the Outlook icon).

. I need help as soon as POSSIBLE. THX

Only, I've solved my problems with this re - create my profile.

To re - create your user profile name just as a different user and ensure that the user have a good administrator.

Go to my computer > users (Windows 7) or Document and settings (Win XP) > find the profile that have a questions and rename (* do not delete because we need a return to the top if there is all data must be transferred to a new profile)

Another thing need to do is to change the registry by go to start and type regedit (make sure administrator too)

Go down this path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileLIST\ * only Applicable for Windows 7

Oncve you see all the list such as S-1-5-18... something like this a check which is the profile who have questions and delete.

The profile with a questions can be seen on you under ProfileImagePath: C:\Users\

In fact, you can try to reconnect and it will be relaxing a new profile just transfer back up the old data of the profile that was rename in the new profile that has been re - create.

  • Lack of New Mail Icon Windows 8 Outlook 2003

Hello, I use Outlook 2003 with Windows 8, and I can't seem to get the "New mail" icon appears on the taskbar.  I made sure 'show the envelope' is selected in the advanced e-mail settings in Outlook.  I also made sure to specify "Display Notifications and Alerts" to the Outlook to-do bar settings.  I have set up Outlook to work with my email "outlook.com" using Outlook Connector.  The Outlook icon appears correctly in the taskbar every time that Outlook is running on my computer, but the "new mail" icon does not show it when I get the mail.  I have not watched by using VBA to make it happen, but so far, I was unable to understand the appropriate code.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Outlook 2003 is not compatible with Windows 8.0/8.1, although some received his execution, but most have problems and features that do not work. Hope this helps and if you need help please post and we will be happy to help you.

  • change icons

in Windows 7, I want to change the icon by default Microsoft Outlook - in fact, I would just say "Outlook." which means I want an icon that says "Outlook."  Is this possible?

Some, you can create custom icons that say what you want. In the limit of 48 × 48, 32 × 32, 24 × 24 and 16 × 16 pixels. Yes, the ICONS are square. There are many tools on the Internet (some are free) to create custom icons.
Here is a good link on the Microsoft MSDN site:
    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms997636.aspx

You can easily rename the text under the icon. that is certainly the easiest solution. Simply right-click the ' Microsoft Outlook #' icon and select Rename and type Outlook.

    I hope this helps

  • Want Outlook to open at startup

In previous versions of windows, I always put my computer while Outlook opens automatically when the computer starts, but I can't work on how to do this under Vista.

I hope that the answer is not too obvious, or I shall feel ridiculous!

    Hello

Right click on the Outlook icon and COPY, then paste it in the folder of start on the Start - menu all programs
by right-clicking the folder boot - BLOCK

Some say that there are errors from Outlook in this way before starting all services. If so, add it to the quick launch area
bar by the STICKY so you can run it easily.

  • How can I keep the icons on the left of the toolbar to stay where they are?

I have small icons for Outlook, Word and Firefox on the left side of my bar jobs and I want to stay all the way to the left, even when I have one or more of the open programs - as it was in earlier versions.  For example, if I have Outlook and some open word documents, these small icons disappear and the Firefox icon will float between the two sets of open programs.  I have even my taskbar stuck.  How can I fix it?

In your description, icons to stay where they are.  For example, your first picture has Outlook as the first icon.  Then, in the photo next, Outlook is open, but it has not moved.

So you really do want to move, or you want a duplicate show up more to the right, while the original icon still left?
Sorry, but none of them are possible.  Icons will always remain where they are.  This Outlook is always #1 (or anywhere where you put it).
This gives you some great benefits.  For example:
    • Outlook will always be the first icon, running or not.  Makes it easier to find, because it is always in the same place.
    • There is no overlap.  You do not have to have 1 button to Start Outlook, and then another button that is Outlook when it is started.  Less jostling on the taskbar with no duplicate icons.
    • You have only 1 place to look if you want to start Outlook, switch to it, if it is already running or look for small envelope icon that appears when you have new messages (it appears on the top of the Outlook icon now, if you have large icons active so it is in the House)
    • You can use keyboard shortcuts.  Press Windows + 1 will start (or switch to) the first button on the taskbar. In your case, it's Outlook.  If Outlook is moved above once you click top, your shortcuts numbers would change randomly.
In short, the icons will always be where you put them. If you upgrade Outlook as the first icon, it will always be the first icon, even after that you click on it.
