output of the script in English
Helloone of our customers is located in China, and they have installed Oracle Chinese (default language is set to Chinese). When we send the SQL scripts, we get output in Chinese. Is there some functionality in Oracle which allow us to get the files of running scripts in English newspapers and leave the database in Chinese?
Messages from the Oracle server must be converted to the level of the session with:
alter session set nls_language=english;

Hi all
I use the new version of the developer 4.0.1.14 on Windows 7 x 64, I noticed that the result of the query or the output of the script does not display as before:
When I run a query lets say with 100 lines of output, run the query successfully, but the cursor jumps automatically to the last record in the game as in all previous versions, I have to scroll manually everytime.
Can I change this?
Thank you
No, unfortunately, it's a bug.
It is not for all queries however. Still boring.

3.1EA1 - white space in the output of the Script window
We need a way to control white space in the output of the Script window
SQL * Plus a trimout, trimspool and col/format... can we please get something similar?
If these options are not on the calendar of 3.1, then even the simplest option that removes all trailing spaces would be of tremendous value to me.Hello
No luck yet on trimout / support, but 3.1 trimspool EA1 includes better support for column: wrap, trunc, format, clear, and so on.

Re: Out of the Script and not the extra copy of the spacesI recorded an improvement for this request because it appears highly desirable and I don't see it in the list of the Exchange feature requests:

What is the difference between the output of the Script and the result of the query?
Hello gurus,
In Oracle SQL Developer, during the execution of a select statement running with the "F5 key", I get the output of the Script; And then if I execute the same select statement using 'Ctrl + Enter', I get basically the same data, but it is formatted to be a little different. and using 'Ctrl + Enter' I can adjust and reduce the size of the column (not the logical and physical structure) on the GUI screen to display all columns without having wide apart. What are the advantages/disadvantages to running queries using "F5" or "Ctrl + Enter"? If someone could shed some light on this topic bit, that would be nice.HI HAS LUNS,
Text (f5) is functional, for the better or for the worst dumps select all.
Chart is prettier - you get a complete data by select grid and scroll within the grid.
There are a few other minor differences.Personally, I use mostly f5 /text/ (sqlplus emulation).

I can line numbers in the output of the Script, delete when printing?
When I print my output of the Script, I get the numbers of line to the left.
Is there a way to delete these line numbers?
Thank you!Although there should be a preference for this (or just the one for the editor of code of honor), I see 2 possibilities:
-Print via the file menu (which unaccountably did a different job)
-Copy/paste/print the results in your favorite text editorHave fun

The output of the script to Excel...
Hello expert script...
I have prepared a health check script to run it on my company vmware infrastructure... have consolidated this script from various sources and finally got to it... out comes in a .html format... I'm looking to see if the output can be in one. CSV format... I need all the different sections of the production in a new worksheet in excel... is it possible? can someone change this script please?
I have attached the script and its output for reference... Thanks a bunch...
Kind regards
Mamadou lamine.
(1) it uses the Get-Member cmdlet to export all properties to the worksheet.
And unfortunately, Get-Member Returns the properties in alphabetical order.
Not much that I can do I'm afraid.
(2) the default value of the function is to add the new worksheet.
That's why I added the AppendWorksheet switch.
See examples towrds the end of the post on using this switch.

Control width of column in the output of the Script?
I want to use the button "Run the Script" (NOT execute statement) to run a SQL. I want an output text is easier to read (fixed-width fonts!) and save. The problem is that it is impossible to control the column width. SQLPlus style 'column' does not work. And even a few substr(), trim(), the column is completed up to the length (?) original.
For example, I want to display code source PLSQL USER_SOURCE:
SQLDeveloper pads the output to 4,000 characters (?), which makes the unusable output (for example, to save or even look at one). Using functions like the function rtrim(), substr() does not help.select text from user_source order by name, type, line
Because SQLDeveloper is displayed not correctly output of SQL, SQLPlus is still irreplaceable. But you need everything to prevent it kicked away from the buffer to the coil.
(OK I know that I can use dbms_metadata in this case.) But this is just one example...)
SQLDeveloper: 2.1.0.63
OS: Windows XP SP2
Published by: thtsang on July 13, 2010 11:43As you say, it's impossible.
However, I suggest that you get 2.1.1 with a fixed-width font in the grid of statement Run As. Then use the export of the grid (menu) or CTRL-+ A CTRL + C (or CTRL-SHIFT-C with position) If you want to save.Have fun

How to flush the output of the script in sql developer
Greetings from a newbie,
How can I empty out the script in sql developer?

ValerieFlush? You can clear the output pane by pressing 'Clear' (Eraser pencil) icon: the first icon on the mini-bar to the tab tools.
That answer your question?

How do you assign the output of the script (caps/sentence case) to a variable?
Hi, I posted a question and a user of the forum Raghu was really great and helped to get a demo of work going, but I'm still a little lost
the demo form is attached, and as you can see that Rambeau has some cool code on the variables to make things go all CAPS and caps of the sentence, which are what we need, and you can see that it works cause he is out on text fields and is displayed correctly.
Now that's cool, I suspect that 90 + % of path, but I don't know how to do is to have the text of entry (the rawValue field name) turned into variables so that I can use them without first placing them in the fields and with reference to those
Raghu kindly explained that this could be done by calling it as a function, (and no doubt he's right) but I do not know how...
can someone clarify, ideally with a fool proof example or two
I have to be able to fix the code / call to about 20 fields in each form and have a variable for each of these fields, like this
First name field - rawvValue entered 'Julia '.
Middle name field - entered rawValue "katie".
Last name field - entered rawValue 'smith '.
to get 6 vars I call call directly IE FNUpper (by JULIA) NSFC (by Julia) MNUPPER (for KATIE) and so on
someone out there able to explain/illustrate that in the jargon fool proof?
Thanks for the help
Hi Greg,.
There are two types of variables (as I know). The first is a variable to script that you create in your script by using the function 'var '. Once you have created / he declared in the script, you can refer to him by name. The str above is an example.
The second is a global variable, which is created and declared in the file / form properties Variable / tab. Once you have created a global variable it is no need to create it again in the script. In fact as soon as you create the global variable, you can see them in the hierarchy under variables. When you reference this script, you must use the value of property in order to define and extract the content of the global variable.
If the script should look like this:
var str = this.rawValue; try{ if(!js.isEmpty(this.rawValue)) { fnUP.value = js.allUpper(str); } } catch(e){app.alert(e)}
Annex specimen. The field additional two are just displays the current value of the global variables. Also test this solution, because (even with the automatic registration of the script changes), global variables can return to default values when reopened.
Good luck
Niall

Whenever you copy something on the screen, it goes to the screen. Period (I guess). If you want to redirect the flow to something else, you will need to navigate literally.
This is why you must use the export-csv. What he does he object transform on the entry in the file in the csv format. It's what he does. If you don't want to use export-csv for a reason, you need to format the output so that it will look like csv, so that for example excel will understand that.
If you want to have the real Excel file (.xls), you use excel comobject.
So from my side, I'm not really another way to get a simple CSV to use export-csv.
'name, first name' > c:\file1.csv
'cookie monster' > c:\file1.csv
"elmo, Monster" > c:\file1.csv
Excel will also include this file when you import with ',' as a delimiter. Is that what you are looking for?
As mentioned previously, if you want to make real xls file it is more difficult to do so.
"
$Oexcel = New-Object - ComObject excel.application
visible #setting for debugging
$Oexcel.Visible = $true
#Opening our xls workbook
$Oworkbook = $Oexcel.Workbooks.Add)
Journal of #Adding new week and do appoint good
$Oworksheet = $Oworkbook.Worksheets.Add)
Report of $Oworksheet.Name = "Snapshots"
#Making banner
$Oworksheet.Cells.Item (1,1) = "report title".
#Creating labels for table
$Oworksheet.Cells.Item (2,1) = "name of the virtual machine......
.....

4.0EA1 - copy/paste in the output window of the Script on Mac does not work
I'm running 4.0.0.12 on Mac OS X 10.8.4, and I can't copy in the window "output of the Script. What I do on a regular basis, it's generating some SQL code by using a SQL query, so I want to copy the output and paste it into the spreadsheet so I can run. For example:
Select 'alter tablespace ". NOM_TABLESPACE | ' begin backup; "from DBA_TABLESPACES;
This is a known problem and will look for the EA next release.

OSD version 4.1.1.19 is not formatting out of the Script as planned
After upgrading to 4.0 of OSD, I noticed that when I use the output of the script window, it wraps the output of the script to about 80 characters.
When I use the command 'SET SQLFORMAT ANSICONSOLE' it seems to provide me with the long expected rows of data including the headers I expect.
When I close my OSD and restart the packaging back.
I also found that I can not use the performance indicators and to make them work.SELECT /*csv*/ * FROM scott. EMP;
SELECT /*xml*/ * FROM scott. EMP;
SELECT / * html * / * FROM scott. EMP;
SELECT / * delimited * / * FROM scott. EMP;
SELECT / * Insert * / * FROM scott. EMP;
SELECT / * charger * / * FROM scott. EMP;
SELECT / * fixe * / * FROM scott. EMP;
SELECT / * text * / * FROM scott. EMP;
I remember at one point several months back I opened SQLPlus and he did a window exit changes but I wasn't expecting to have an impact in the OSD.
I am running the OSD 4.1.1.19 64 bit on Windows 7 64 bit.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

The script to stop the guest OS
Hello:
I have three machine installed on a server VMware ESX 4.0 vmware: redhat5, windows2003, vSphere Management Assistant (vMA).
When I run the script to stop redhat5, windows2003 can be stopped gracefully, but the vSphere Management Assistant (vMA) cannot be stop
I think that virtual machines with spaces in names, so do not successfully stopped.
For example the default name of the unit of VMware vMA
vmfs/volumes / * / vSphere Management Assistant (vMA) / vSphere Management Assistant (vMA) .vmx
Produces the following output from the script:
vim.fault.NotFound: no virtual machine has name: vmfs/volumes / * / vSphere
vim.fault.NotFound: no virtual machine has name: management
vim.fault.NotFound: no virtual machine has name: Assistant
vim.fault.NotFound: no virtual machine has a name: (vM/vSphere
vim.fault.NotFound: no virtual machine has name: management
vim.fault.NotFound: no virtual machine has name: Assistant
vim.fault.NotFound: no virtual machine has a name: (vM.vmx
The script below:
# The list of VMS
"VMLIST ='/ usr/bin/vmware-cmd - l"
for a virtual machine in $VMLIST
do
/ usr/bin/VMware-cmd '$VM' stop trysoft
sleep 2
factCan someone help to solve my problem?
Thank you very much
Yes, correct. u can do than this by putting "echo $VM" inside the foreach loop. and a more I think, it will be like cmd 7:
VMware-cmd "/ vmfs/volumes/4 c * / vSphere stop trysoft".
VMware-cmd 'Management' stop trysoft
VMware-cmd "Assistant" stop trysoft
VMware-cmd "(vMA) / vSphere" stop trysoft
VMware-cmd 'Management' stop trysoft
VMware-cmd "Assistant" stop trysoft
VMware-cmd "(vMA) .vmx" stop trysoft
Thank you

the default language in the script
When run a perl script to create a virtual machine in vCenter script fails due to the default language that is set in vCenter and/or the vCLI. The default language is other than Englisgh and the script was written in English, so that the script does not run. How can I set the default language in the script to English? Any ideas?
By vCLI documentation, you can use:
--encoding
VI_ENCODING= Specifies the encoding to be used. One of cp936 (Simplified Chinese) ISO-8859-1 (German), or Shift_JIS (Japanese). You can use --encoding to specify the encoding the vSphere CLI should map to when it is run on a foreign language system. If it works, you can create a configuration file and just add the entry VI_ENCODING = "" and who will be permanent each time you call vCLI or vSphere SDK for Perl scripts. "
