overheating on certain websites?

I love Firefox. I'm under 33.1.1 on a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.9.5 years. Here's the question: I noticed that my MacBook Pro goes to heat up quickly, and the fan turns on - usually within 60 to 90 seconds of the opening of Firefox. Here's what I've done so far: I reduced the version of Flashplayer - still no difference. Then I started Firefox in mode 'safe', and the problem is NOT to be reproduced. I restarted Firefox - modules enabled, and the heating/fan started. I have "reset" of Firefox, and it still occurs. I started it in 'safe mode' once again, and the problem does not recur. I have an add-on: AdBlock. Regarding plug-ins, they are all set to 'ask to activate '.

I thought at first it was the add-on AdBlock, but it wasn't the case.

The Web page where I meet more often this is nytimes.com, which is defined as my home page. If I move out of this page into something at random, like a Page of Wordpress, the issue stop: the computer begins to cool and the fan turns off.

It has not appeared in Safari with nytimes.com loaded as the Web page. I let it run for 10 minutes and no heat, no fan.

Is there any solution for this? Anyone experienced this?

The other feature that is disabled in safe mode is hardware acceleration. Please try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox to see if there are improvements. It can be done in Flash or Firefox. In flash, right-click on a page playing a flash and click settings... Of this menu clicck on the tab on the left and under view uncheck "use hardware acceleration".

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

Then perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Firefox Options (Preferences on Mac or Linux) as follows:

    • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

then select Options Preferences on Mac or Linux, or Windows.

    • In 28.0 Firefox and earlier versions, click on the Firefox orange upper-left button, then select the 'Options' button or, if there is no button up Firefox, go to tools > Options.
  2. In the window of Firefox Options (or preferences), click on the Advanced tab, and then select general.
  3. You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
  4. Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

Hi, for about a week my wife had problems loading certain websites. When she goes to Twitter or Pinterest example site will appear very basic with everything aligned to the left. However, everything works perfectly with other browsers like IE and Chrome. I've been watching people with similar problems and tried what worked for them, but nothing helps.

So far, we tried: clear the cache and cookies, performed a reinstall full Firefox while ensuring to remove records of Mozilla remains in Program Files and %APPDATA%\microsoft\windows\sendto thus, restart the modem/router, by doing an ipconfig/flushdns and finally to top it all the computer restarts.

Absolutely nothing has worked so far.

Update: it solved the problem. Oddly enough changing the date on the computer has solved the problem. Why is this?

  • How to block certain websites?

I would like to know how to block certain websites like MTV, because I do not want my children to watch some videos... urgent please!

I think that you are not in the right forum with this theme because it has nothing to do with Toshiba laptops.
Anyway, what you can do is to block all Web sites in your router configuration. Router password together and nobody can change anything so you will have full control over the content that should not be visible for your children.

  • my pc only connects to certain websites

My iMac will only connect to certain websites, used to be ok and generally fast connection. Other pc connect ok on wi - fi including iMac. Have checked everything in System Preferences / wireless / advanced, says it is connected ok. I have internet security McAfee safe running, but try Live with her all set to off and no change. My sites of bank charge ok just like Netflix and some other sites, but others say just server does not connect.

I forgot to say that I am using a Netgear wireless router, reset several times and no change. Other PCs and tablets work very well but the iMac connected to the same wi - fi connection support only some sites on Safari or Chrome.

    Hey Buddy,

I don't know why this is happening but maybe you have a Virus or something and so that you can load sites Mr. t this would also explain why the various browsers give the same result.
I put t knows what AntiVirus you have but I can recommend AntiVir. Run a virus scan and maybe it will find something.

In addition, you should check your router if your Internet connection is working properly.

What security software do you have?

It is possible that your firewall or other security software blocks or limit Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and allow your firewall to ask permission to get access full and unrestricted, again to install for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

    See:

Start the computer in Mode safe mode with network support Windows (on the startup screen, press F8) to see if that helps.

  • What are the correct FireFox preference settings if don't have any e-mail address always predict a certain website?

Since the upgrade to OS Mountain Lion I need to provide my email address for a particular Web site if my Mac has been restarted, although I indicate on the site that I want to stay connected to the Web site for two weeks at a time. When I had OS Snow Leopard, on this site I didn't enter my e-mail more often than every 2 weeks, no matter how many times my computer has been restarted.

What settings in FireFox preferences should I enter so I don't have to enter my email address on this website every time my computer is restarted?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Yes, in private browsing mode, all cookies are session cookies that expire automatically if you close the session in PB mode.

Mode PB no data is stored in the Firefox profile folder, and this includes cookies.

  • Firefox is filled in form to a certain website (disabled AutoFill)

After that I had a few problems with it (+ security problem), I decided to delete all my firefox passwords.
When I had done what most of the annoying auto-fill-in stuff has been resolved, but a Web site (that I visit fairly regularly), it seems to keep filling an individual username and password everywhere where there is a field for one. Even if it's just a normal field with a title it will fill this username.

How can I get rid of this?

This web site that you said you bookmark?

First configure you Firefox to not remember your history.
Try to go to Tools > > Options > > Privacy > > Firefox will: change it to never remember history

If you bookmarked the site, delete it from your bookmarks:

    Clear your recent history (eight):

Then, go to the website of he and see if the AutoFill forms
