  I have shared a bunch of files at the same time in Windows 7, waited for them to do and then returned and noticed that some had not shared. I closed the notification without noting each of them because it's easier just look at the list for an icon slot which was shared. However, none of the files had a small Sub icon on them like XP, so I was confused. I click right through them and some had normal sharing options, but some had just one option advanced, which seems to be the way one or more easy to know if a file is shared or not. When I have a file of 100 files, it's a way incredibly hard to tell if a folder has been shared.

  I'm sure that I could see the contents of a folder in the preview window of the Explorer at the same time. Now I can't, and I can't find any way to do.   Hi, I have a brand new (demo) installation of Dreamweaver CS6 on a Mac and in the files Panel icons for the files aren't there. The icons of the folders are there but where there should be an icon for a file there are empty spaces. It's frustrating because it makes it harder to see the list of files and work with the files.

  I tried to uninstall Dreamweaver, deleted the preference files and reinstall but who did nothing at all.

  How can I get the file icons to show?

  I can't open some files on my desktop computer. I can open the trash, I can open shortcuts, I can open the desktop.ini files, I can open DOCX files, I can open EXE files and I can open the VBS files. By opening the files, I mean a double click on the file icons. But I can't open the image (JPG or PNG) files.
  If I try a double click on any image file on my desktop nothing happens! If I click with the right button on the file icon and choose Preview is the same, nothing happens! But I can open files stored in the folder my pictures in C:\Users\User, either by double-clicking on file icons or by right-clicking them and choosing an excerptof images. Also, if I copy or move files that I have on the desktop to the images folder and then all of a sudden I can open them! I can double-click on the file icon or right-click and choose Preview. But if I return these files on the desktopand then I can't open them! What gives?

  I used a software called ReProfiler that allows the user to manipulate user profiles in Winwows directly, without having to create a new user account.   From the information you provided it seems that you must indicate your computer what program to use to open documents when they are opened through Explorer.

  It is easy just follow the instructions below and you'll be up and running in no time.

  1. go to the Solution Explorer and look for a file that you want to open in word/excel.

  2. Once you find the right type of file (MS Word.docs/.docx) (Excel .xls) just right-click and select "Open with" menu drop-down menu drop-down.

  3. click on "set the default program.

  4. a list of pop programs until navigates to that you want to open files with. Once you have found it select and apply the changes.

  5. your done! You should now be able to open this type of file with the program you have selected every time that you select in Solution Explorer. Just do the same thing with your other types of files and your good to go!

  The issue I'm having is that when I select some text on a page and click on the target of the file icon to create a link to the files Panel closes.

  Using CS5 extended (v.12.0.1x32) in Windows 7 Entp (64-bit): my save-as dialog ceased to show an overview of the .jpg file size when the quality slider is defined.  This feature worked fine and seemed just to quit smoking.  Now all I get is the short horizontal line in place and place a certain number, and no matter how long wait, no file size number is displayed.
