OWB customer

HY guys,.
I have this scenario:
I have to use an OWB client on a machine where the Oracle Client is not installed. Is it possible or customer Oracle slice is mandatory?

Thanks in advance
Stefano

Is it possible using SQL * Net connection

  • role of customer OWB$

    Hello

I have a question about the privileges that are necessary for OWB. I am not a specialist of OWB, so hope someone can give me advice of God here.
Our OWB configuration is to have an account 'technical' for execution of all mappings and stream OWB - this user is granted OWB customer roles and privileged i.e. OWB$ customer, OWB_USER and OWB_DESIGNCENTER_VIEW of roles and what is called 'target' DB schemas where data are stored with simple DB privs. as ' create table, view, procedure "etc.

This 'technical' OWB user have on DB level of all privileges on the objects in the DB "traget" in order to run patterns of procedures, manipulate data, etc. This means that the resolution of privilege on DB level for this user works very well.
But, in order to run OWB stream and maps out of this user 'Technical' OWB which are data modofying in our DB schemas 'target' our developer seeks DB designs 'target' must be also role for OWB$ customer, OWB_USER, and OWB_DESIGNCENTER_VIEW.

Is this really necessary? If so, why?

    Thank you very much
    Goran

On the other hand, the 'technical' user has "run" priv.

It is not enough to run the stored procedure of OWB processflow. It is an architecture OWB requirements...

As a solution - create under the technical procedure of the user with the same list of parameters such as the procedure in the user of the target,
with the single line of code

    PROCEDURE TARGET_PROC(P1 IN NUMBER, P2 IN VARCHAR2)ASBEGIN  TARGET_USER.TARGET_PROC(P1, P2);END;

Then use in processflow this procedure of "proxy".

    Kind regards

I think that * the same patch should work as server patch. There is no separate server from this hotfix version.

  • Database upgrade to GR 11, 2

Updated client the development environment to 11 GR 2 (11.2.0.1) yesterday and now the maps generated from OWB (customer is 10.2.0.1.31) development to raise an error PRE-01011 (incompatible version).

The OWB design deposit is a stand-alone database. This database has not been upgraded yet (to 10.2.0.4).

Would it be possible to use the OWB 11.2 'piece' against a 10.2.0.1 design repository, or y at - it an available patch allowing to deploy on a 11.2.0.1 10.2.X customer database?

OWB 10.2.0.1 is not cetrified with datbase of 11g.

Then to serve the target of the 11g schema, upgrade the OWB to 10.2.0.4 by applying the Patch 7005587.

  • navigation tree

    really really need help.
the navigation in my control center tree is absent.
How can I show it again?

Exit the OWB customer. Delete (or move to a temporary directory) the file DeployMgrLayout.xml of the owb/bin/admin directory and restart the client.

  • MDL1427 error during export

    Hi all

Export a project using Design-> export-> Builder option warehouse, I get a lot of these errors:

WARNING: MDL1427: cannot export the selected FUNCTION < RO_PRJ.RO_PRJ. PK_PRJ_RECON. PR_RECON_ICAP2PPFE_CORRECTDATA > because it does not exist in the target repository.

However, I then delete all objects in the repository and importing the .mdl file created (which apparently have not all included packages), and it turns out that all packages are present... Should I ignore the message since everything seems to be fine? Can I have additional problems because of this?

I use the OWB customer: 10.2.0.1.31 and repository: 10.2.0.1.0.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Deploy on hangs to the generator warehouse after successful validations (ora-01017)

    Hello

I have a problem with deployment maps on the warehouse construction.

I know what is the cause, but I can't find out how can I solve this problem.

Ive has a database of registered as 'target' (bd even where is repository OWB), where I want to deploy the mappings, this database has been registered with and the user (UNDERLINED).

Everything works fine until the HIGHLIGHTED user password has been changed. Know when I'm trying to make the OWB deployment ask me for the duration of repository (owbrt_user) authentication, then it sucessfully validate mapping, but when he tries to deploy (build package) it fails with ORA-01017 - name of user and password invalid.
It is because somewhere in the repository of owb, the UNDERLINED user password remains former. I try to put the UNDERLINED such as password, and after it works.

So my question is how to change the password stored on OWB for the HIGHLIGHTED target database user. I try to do it with OWB customer, but I don't see this option in any place.

My mail is: [email protected] (if you need some more detail to help me).

    Thanks in advance,
    Kind regards
    Pedro Ribeiro

    Hi Pedro,

You will need to use the Manager of deployment 10.1.0.4 to re - register the location as Ragnar has described. The Deployment Manager has been renamed Control Center Manager in a future release.

    Nigel.

  • Two OWB customers

Hello, I installed the OWB 11.2.0 customer and I can access perfectly OWB repository from an external server which is installed the same version. But I have a question.

Now, I want to access one another deposit of another external to the machine is version 10.2.0.1 my machine (I had installed 11.2.0 customer owb),.
I read that the client must be the same as the server.

On my machine cannot exist two different OWB customers.

    How can I do?

    Best regards.

Why not? I have clients 10.2 and 11.2 on my PC that connect to their DBs 10.2 and 11.2.

  • Component ODI OWB 11 GR 2 How to connect lines inserted/updated to update / delete

    Hi experts,
I developed an ICT KM which will insert into a target table data line-by-line, I used the ICT_SQL_INCR_UPD_ROW_BY_ROW KM of base provided by oracle, what I noticed, is that this newspaper does not work lines that are inserted as other KMs, after that a little research on the internet discovered that ODI has a function for this , oidRef.setNbInsert, but this doesn't work in OWB KM, it gives this error:
    --------------

Dose - anyone have an ideea how can I connect the inserted, updated, deleted in interface OWB lines (we have a customer who would like tho have this feature)?

    Enjoy a quick response,

    Hi CIPI

Unfortunately, it is not included, the only possible audit for lines is via JDBC and properties explanations in KM.

    So not every API of ODI is supported, a large common subset is available, you can see the doc for more details (these audit would be useful);

  • The OWB with Oracle DB 11.1 11.2 client configuration

    Hello

I hope that you all are doing well.

I have tried to study Oracle heterogeneous Services and had tried to import data from excel spreadsheets in to OWB 11.1 using DG4ODBC. I had a few errors and discovered a writing on threads OTN that there is a bug in OWB 11.1, which was set at OWB 11.2. I installed OWB 11.2 only to discover that the two versions of owb cannot coexist. Given that I didn't ruin my already present workspace, I installed a new copy of oracle DB 11.1 to configure with owb 11.2. I followed the steps mentioned in the Oracle documentation, but nothing helped. Not only do you OWB 11.2 not get set up, my old verion of OWB lost its configuration with the old workspace. It gives me this error when I try to open a session:

"API5055: this user has not registered to any warehouse builder workspace." You want to go ahead to create a new workspace for it, or save it to a? »

I don't want to create a new workspace, I save it to my old. But I don't know how to do this. Can someone please help? I am badly stuck!

I also want to understand whether it is possible for me to use customer OWB 11.2 to manipulate existing data workspace of OWB 11.1 without deleting OWB 11.1?
And is there indeed a bug in OWB 11.1.0.7.0 that prevented me from impporting data in owb for MS Excel? I really need to go to OWB 11.2?

I would be very grateful for your help.

    Thank you
    Ann.

In fact, it is a problem but not with OWB - it seems that there is a bug in the database/bridge of Oracle 11 g.
So - selection from the dictionary views doesn't work against the HS ODBC connection to Excel (or perhaps other sources with ODBC).
But it is possible to access the worksheets in the Excel file.

The first add to the setting of the initEXCEL.ora file (remember to restart the listener)
    HS_FDS_SUPPORT_STATISTICS = FALSE

If you know the name of the Excel worksheet, you can get access to the HS link,
for example, the worksheet name is Sheet1, choose, so must be

    Select * from 'Sheet1$"@dblink '.

    Hope this helps

  • Can anyone share a download to OWB 10.1.0.1.0 linke

We try to look @ the logic of mapping on a repository of metadata/DURATION OWB 10.1.0.1.0 version. But any client to access the same component.
Cannot find a download link on the download page of OWB IAM.

Can someone please help me get hold of OWB 10.1.0.1.0 customer?

Just check this link - everything works fine. Also, I saw that sameone loaded OWB on the link provided.
I think that's the problem with your internet provider (or your local network configuration)

    Hello

The bug has still not public patch. In addition, there are problems to import the keys with tables with small letters (different bug), the table names and columns must be imported to ok.

    See you soon
    David

If necessary can import via a custom tcl script to get the keys.

  • deploy column OWB 10.1 comments

    OLA.

On the customer site, we try to fill our metadatmodel. The column comments are part of it.
While we add these comments in the note field in table objects we can't in the database after deployment.

The generated scripts contains a comments.dll. But it seems that this scipt is never executed...
Y at - it a setting of managere deployment we need to adjust in order to deploy these comments?

(of course, you can run the comment.dll manually, but that's just what we're trying to avoid...).

    We use OWB 10.1

    Kind regards
    Moscowic

    Hi Moscowic,

This is a Bug identified in OWB 9.2

Bug 3422288: COMMENTS of COLUMN AND TABLE ARE GENERATED BUT NOT DEPLOYED

There is no patch available with OWB 10.1.
The functionality is implemented in OWB 10.2.

    Thank you
    Fati

  • Versioning OWB 10 g / 11g

I use OWB 10 g release 2, but there is no version control functionality. The functionality of snapshot and export/import can help but it is very difficult with the large project.

Is there a new feature with release 11g OWB 1 or 2 for version control? Do you have any proposal for version control in 10g?

    Hi Robin,

I use different tools, according to the customer infrastructue. Right now I use CVS with TortoiseCVS as a Windows Client, but I also recommend to take a look at the subversion.
They are the two open source.

    Kind regards
    Carsten.
