Padding and image Boder

Trying to get the images to get a 2px white border.  I have the image floated just with padding px 10 on one side.  And when I apply the porder it goea autour padding instead of the image!

Here is the code:

<!-InstanceBeginEditable name = "MainContent" value->
< div class = "content" >
< h1 > scene in Peter < / h1 >
< H2 > artist statement: < / h2 >
"< p > < img src="Images/artiststatement/sceneinstoneartist.jpg "alt =" Sand Dunes "I" width = "350" height = "186" class = "fltrt" / > I have, on several occasions, had the opportunity to photograph "Red Rock" formations found in the American Southwest. " These landscapes are gorgeous, but illustrating their size within a small two-dimensional image is always a challenge. While she was photographing this training, I found myself wondering what could be found if, instead of looking outward, to the massive number of rocks arranged in a grandiose landscape, you looked inward, leaving a single rock become the whole image. < /p >
< p > what if instead of the rocks that make up the landscape, there were landscapes contained in each individual rock? What there's rocks which contained shapes and patterns that were the images themselves? < /p >
< p > as I started watching the rock slices that were available from several sources different mines, I found that an incredible array of shapes, colors and patterns were found in their midst. In many cases, I was surprised to see that these bosses did, indeed, look like miniature versions of the landscapes that I'm so used to photograph; from the outside world, which have been documented and indelible images engraved in stone. < /p >
< p > these & quot; Scene in stone & quot; landscapes were photographed using a technique called cross-polarization which removes the reflections of the stone surface and allows the texture and color to show through underlying. A macro lens has been used to capture these extreme close-up shots, with each individual photo, which represents an area of about 20 x 15 mm of each rock. < /p >
< p > so, shrink down and enjoy your walk through these imaginary landscapes! < /p >
<! - end content - >
< / div >
<! - InstanceEndEditable - >

Thank you

Howard

I guess that the question is... can you apply the two padding on one side of an image and a border around 4 sides and I have the border 'hug' image witout bypassing the padding, so that the padding seems to be inside the border?

You have 3 settings available to specify a white space around HTML elements in the CSS box model

1 filling

2 us.

3. margin

If padding > 0 the border will not embrace the HTML element (in this case, the image or tag).

For example, you must specify the border and margin on the left.

for example

.fltrt {/ * this class can be used to float right to the item in your page.} The floating element must precede the element it should be next to the page. */
float: right;
padding: 0;
border: 2px solid #fff;
margin-left: 10px;

}
