Page does not show in preview

I am designing a new Web site, and when I apply the css layout, it shows in shared mode, but every time that

I'm trying to get a glimpse into the browser, it is all distorted nothing shows jujust the name of the divs.

Although it was on root, that's how I learned.

If that's how you have learned, then I would take issue with it.  There are good reasons to use root relative links, but this certainly isn't one of them, unless you don't did us not the whole story.

Activation of the temporary files in the preview is a simple thing that has no downside and it will make the links related to root works in local preview.  Of course, it will be affect the code on the page or it will cause no problem with your downloaded files.  So a work around if you want to use relative links to root (on a static site).

Alternatively, you can always use document relative links.  Those who work in local preview without the temp files (even if they will work also with them, too).

The important thing is - this - no matter what type of link you use, it MUST be good.

    I recently changed my home page by making a copy of the original, making my changes in HTML and then to change the URL of the new homepage to index.htm after having changed the URL of the old to something other than index.htm. It does not appear when I go on my site through the Internet as usual.

    Is there something I did wrong? Or is there something I need to do but also to present the new file with index.htm URL?
