  Hi all

  Using structured FM 11 on Windows 7.

  I need a way to return paragraph format tags. I know it's easy to assign them to import with ESD, but I don't know how to save the export.

  I was hoping that read/write rules can contain something in the sense of:

  attribute "paraFormat" is fm property paragraph format tag;
  

  I think it's probably possible with ExtendScript or a custom API, but I would rather these if possible.

  I think you're out of luck with read/write rules. The hypothesis is that logical formatting is the property of ESD and would therefore have no relevance in the XML file. As you claimed it, a client of import/export API could do. An ExtendScript could also do prior to importation, by filling the advance attributes. It's a very simple script, perhaps 20 lines or more.

  My FrameSLT plugin could also fill the attributes advance with a Script Assistant node, but is not free as YOU. www.weststreetconsulting.com.

  I am new to Dreamweaver and have created a 5 page site using one of the Dreamweaver templates. I have finally all this work to load on my site, but the pages lose their formatting (color/size/font), the url is http://www.soundmusicpractices.com I put the home page to the top and you can see it is set by default. Somehow, to try to resolve this issue on other pages in Dreamweaver and on my office lost their formatting as well - everything except the home page. so I'll try to restore files formatting and then get them to download with correct formatting. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks :))

• Can I Auto format the first paragraph on each page of a document of 20 pages?

  So, I have a document that is in fact just a numbered list of 200 entries.

  There are 10 items per page, which makes it a 20 page document.

  Unfortunately, from time to time I give myself an extra entry to add, whose invariaby is in the middle of the document and not at the end.

  What I would do, if I add a new #20 to the document, the old #20 (now #21), pushed to the next page, would then automatically be formatted with the paragraph style to my 'Style'.

  I could not find out how to do this, which means, in the above example, I need to go to 18 pages and remove the 'Style' formatted as in each case after the addition, it is now the second entry on the page. At the same time, I must apply the paragraph 'Style' formatting for each first entry of all subsequent pages. If I only had to do from time to time, it would not be a problem, but this document is regularly updated, it becomes tedious.

  Nested styles does not seem to be an option, because I use the numbering that requires a paragraph break to differentiate each line number and nested styles seem to apply to each paragraph, except if I am doing something wrong here.

  As long as never depart you from the cycle 20 paragraph that it's actually pretty easy to do, just 20 paragraph styles, of which 19 are based on the other and differ only in the name of style. You then together "next" style attributes to run through the list of styles, then the following style for #20 is #1 and the sequence starts over. Now just select the entire block of text between the point where you have edited at the end and click right on the name of the TSRI in selecting paragraph style, then in the menu popup, choose apply and following Style.

  without valid reason I later move to really use paragraph styles. but I encountered a small problem. the document that I'm actually has a TON of garbage styles attached to it from the word document (which has an OCR would scan...).   Always on my account findText. The result is sometimes as a textStyleRange which contains the texts of multiple paragraphs. What is the best (and easy) way to get the text of each paragraph individually?

  There are two solutions:

  (1) you could be formatted every paragraph with formatting marks that you know doesn't exist anywhere else. In this way, each textStyleRange is guaranteed to end at the end of the paragraph.

  (2) you can access the entire first paragraph: myTextStyleRange.paragraphs [0]. I have not tested, but no doubt it works. You could also do a loop: paraLength = myTextStyleRange.paragraphs.length; for (i = 0; i< paralength;="" i++);="" mypara="myTextStyleRange.paragraphs[i];}">

  This is not the right approach. It does that by accident.

  mysel.paragraphs [0] .insertionPoints are all insertion points in the current paragraph. Is there are 100 characters, then there are 101 insertPoints (on each side of each character). PointInsertion [0] is the left of the first character, [1] is to the right of the first character, [2] to the right of the 2nd character, etc. until [101] to the right of the last character.

  insertionPoints [-1] refers to the last PointInsertion, [101], which is actually after the paragraph itself, formats the following paragraph.

  insertionPoints-[2] refers to the 2nd to the last PointInsertion, [100], which is the left of the last character.

  I don't know what is the best way to deal with this. Maybe:

  p = mySel.paragraphs[0]; p.appliedParagraphStyle="myPstyle1";
  p = p.insertionPoints[-1].paragraphs[0]; p.appliedParagraphStyle="myPstyle2";

  I guess that the exact method depends on what you're trying to do.

  Let me start by saying that I recently switched from Quark, so I'm really a newbie in InDesign. I was watching videos as much as possible, but can't seem to find the answers to questions like that.

  I've been taking the old brochures that have been created in ID3 and sticky type and pictures in a new format that has been created in ID4. The new format has already created with the update fonts and other formatting paragraph styles as well.

  When I circulate in all the new type and click the style sheet, it does not change the correct font type and size, but there is in the paragraph of formats that are not updated. For example: the whole paragraph (according to the applied style) should be the book of Gotham, but even after you apply the style to it, part of it remains "BOLD" Gotham. He has been "BOLD" in the previous version of the document, but must be regular in this one.

  I am trying to anchor a graphic object to a paragraph style that is a numbered paragraph.  I've set up my number and I want a single chart to be anchored to the number so it appears behind the number each time that I chose this paragraph style.

  Is this possible to do?

  Or maybe I should ask how others put graphics in the background of the bullets or numbers and have their anchor point for the text...

  I found it fascinating, so I thought I'd see what I could come up with.

  I did a numbered paragraph style, for starters. Then I did a Cyan filled ellipse, which I anchored in front of the first word in a paragraph and changed the positioning custom and made sure it was compared to the anchor and off to respect the limits of the image, to allow me to position 'behind' the number. As emmanuel, anchored objects work actually in front of the text, therefore, so far, it isn't.

  I selected the ellipse and changed its blend mode to multiply. It won't change color where it is more white, but it will darken everywhere where it is located on another color, creating a rich black number, for example, if you used the text in black. Looks pretty good now.

  Select the ellipse and create a new object style based on it. It will be by default include the blend mode and the anchored object settings and make sure that the style is applied to the selected ellipse. Now cut the ellipse and stick it on the pastboard in the way so you don't lose it.

  As long as the object exists in the Clipboard you can use for a search/replace operation, so you can do this now or later, just by copying again when appropriate. Find/replace must be a GREP search ^ (.) which means find any character at the beginning of a paragraph, and then replace it by ~ c$ 1, which means replacing the found character and content to the Clipboard format. Be sure to set the discovery of options for the numbered paragraph style formatting.

  Because you gave the object an object style that includes the mode of fusion and positioning and you stuck as a formatting object, these attributes are preserved and the graph will be correctly positioned for each paragraph.

  This is because when you do

  myText.contents = myFind [i] .silence;

  you copy all the contents of text, none of the setting in the form. To get the items found as well as their blowdry, try something like this instead:

  myFind [i] .move (LocationOptions.after, myText.insertionPoints [0]);

  Of course, then you must remove the line myFind [i] .remove (); because there is nothing to move.

  A rule of thumb is to leave the only standard paragraph. Otherwise you can mess up other styles based on that.

  To set up your new style - which may by default based on the standard paragraph - and formatting you wish. Then base on that other styles.

  It worked because the TC was functional, even if the hard drive was not... If you open airport utility you should have seen a hard drive error, but he might have ignored, so... in fact the main light must have been orange flashing not green.

  The TC is designed to test the hard drive when starting... If it fails the TC does not start.

  Once you install the disk simply go to the tab of disc airport utility and erase the drive... which will set it up properly.

  One thing to consider is the economy... a TC 5 years really may not be worth a repair... power supplies can also go wrong.

  If it's a Gen3 and when you open it is brand Delta power, then it might be interesting to replace the drive... a Gen4 usually also would be worthwhile. Disk 4 Gen is WD green... and he might have lost format rather that died... you could so be able to simply delete it.

  Thanks for posting. By your error message with the version of Windows, this is usually prompted to enter a version of XP is a more expensive than installing service pack. By this please make sure that your data is backed up. Insert the XP CD and perform a low-level format on all hard drives (making sure to disconnect all hard drives with the prior backup information in the format). Do not perform quick format and allow full frame complete (it will take a lot of time). After that, you should have no problems reisntalling your XP.

• Page numbering problem

  So, I'm having a problem getting my pages are displayed correctly. This should show the page 9 and 10, not 1.9 and 1.10. I can't figure out how to remove the 1.
