  Hi all

  As stated, I am very new to scripting. I did a few small scripts to automate the tasks of Photoshop and others. I'm trying to learn as much as possible, with the hope to achieve greater efficiency of our small production of Javascript. It is a daunting task, but I try my darnedest only.

  One of the objectives of the number one I's find a way to automate the pagination of records of weekly operations. These documents flow between 32 to 48 pages, with each page having 5 columns. Creating these pages is very systematic, so it would seem that this process should be able to automate, but there are challenges that I have bad to think about how to attack.

  One of the main tasks that need to be understood is to get reviews to go inside with the positions and subheadings always starting from the top of a page or column. Almost every copy comes in predetermined paragraph styles, so a script should easily be able to search for instances of each model. What to eb done is only allowing the flow of copy to break in some styles and not others... (counties, cities, etc.)

  For example: If you have the following...

  If the two recordings above would fall near the end of a column, the breaking of the next column should NOT happen anywhere except:

  -Before the County (causing the count to start at the top of the next column

  -Before the second city (Village of Dystopia, forcing the city to the top of the next column)

  -After the two (forcing some City/County is next to go at the top of the next column)

  So basically, I need to find a column breaks to PREVENT in a way where they should not occur. Inserting column breaks is one thing (I know not how to do this). Prevention is the issue, but that confuses me.

  Does anyone have any ideas of how to do such a thing? I know there a of the characters 'space nonbreaking'... is there or is there some sort of character "back breaking"? Or would it be possible to test for the paragraph at the bottom of the columns style and insert column breaks once he finds a suitable match?

  Am I going about this all wrong?

  FYI... using InDesign cs5.5

  I don't know that you mean what version of InDesign you have. But if

  Is CS5 or CS5.5 you also a checkbox 'keep with the previous.

  If you could get all your styles 'normal listing' to 'keep up with.

  previous"and the initial styles to"keep with next", and I think that

  should do the trick.

• Paragraph breaks appears no not after the publication of site

  I just released updates to the site of the client, and on one of the pages, none of the paragraph breaks are appearing (they had been there all along, above). Now, the page is a long paragraph.

  Why this is happening and how to fix it? It looks like an editing glitch...?

  Judging by the HTML, it seems that Muse has improperly promoted the character style 'Italic testimony' at the paragraph level. Character styles are for strings of text (i.e., spans) within paragraphs. Recently, I saw another case of this kind in the paragraph Styles not export properly

  In all cases, you try some of these workarounds:

  1 put the style of character to 'None', then reapply "Italic Testimonal"

  or

  2 remove the 'Italics Testimonal' link (using the button 'Delete' in the character Styles Panel)

  You are right: if return paragraph has also been formatted with this style of character, he wil appear in the found text. To stop GREP optional paragraph back, you can use

  [^\r]+

  which loosely translates "all consecutive Run of characters, none of whom is a paragraph return.

  I'm entering text in a text box, pressing enter for each paragraph. In Muse, everything looks fine, but the site published Web text out without paragraph breaks. Tried to change fonts, but without any help. No idea how to fix?

  Sounds like a web server that is not properly configured to serve Web coded UTF - 8 pages. Or maybe the files are copied to the server using a tool that is mangling carriage returns? You'll probably want to talk to your hosting company.

  What I want to do is to find the places where the PS breaks the line in paragraph text and place real line crossing it. So if I if adjust to the width of a bounding rectangle, the text would still formatted the same way visually.

  If I resized the text layer as a whole, the line breaks are maintained. But what I needed was to be able to evolve only the bounding box, without scaling the text and keep line breaks.

  In any case, I found a way to do it.

  Duplicate the text layer. Convert to point text. This will add breaks in these places. Find the positions of the breaks and introduce them to the original layer. Remove the extra layer.

  I'm creating a catalog of the auction. Right now I have a long table in Word, where each line is an item in the catalog.

  I know how to place the table in InDesign and convert it to text so that each line is its own paragraph (click table > > convert table to text).

  Now, I want to run a script so that each paragraph becomes its own text box.

  I tried to use the script of Jongware mentioned on this thread (https://forums.adobe.com/thread/652308), but it breaks to the top of each LINE in its own text box, not each paragraph.

  Previously, a solution that worked for me is to manually adjust the text boxes until each paragraph is in a separate box, then use the SplitStory script to remove all the. However, the catalog has over 100 articles in there it is time consuming. Is there a way to separate each paragraph into its own text box automatically?

  Well, I guess you can set up a master page with two frames of text related to this topic.

  To keep Options (see above), choose 'Start in the new framework' rather than 'new page '.

  Create a page in the document and apply the master page.

  Then follow the first set of instructions, I gave above. For autoflowing, click inside the box of one of the blocks of text on the master page (I mean, do it on a regular page that has the master page applied; the text block should appear with a dashed line, because it is on the master page). Now, all text should flow between these two images, two images per page which gives you 1 point in each image.

  I've never drawn a newsletter before.

  It's annoying me because I try to be as meticulous as possible with my alignment, but I noticed there are all things that don't align.

  I have a paragraph style, with a space before and after. I have three columns. When I look at a line of text across all columns of three, they are not aligned. May they line up if I had all the text directly and no image wraps, but the envelopes of the image and the beginning of a new paragraph in column 2, throws the alignment in column 3.

  What is the best way to align things with the least possible effort?

  Are there tutorials on good bulletin of the layout-design? Presentation of the grid?

• How can I stop my pages to change (moving paragraphs breaking, chapters) when you try to export?

  I am pretty new to indesign and self teach me through the internet and books. I'm working on a new layout and I had finished what I thought looked nice. The final step was to export to a PDF format, I thought. Well, when I export and then see the PDF a few paragraphs are broken by a few lines between the first part and second part. Chapters also lose their position. I go back in InDesign, and check and it would be what was in indesign as well. I've fixed a dozen times. Double and triple checked the pages before again hitting the export. Once again, more trouble, but it would be in different places. I do something wrong when exporting?

  Did you start this book in a version earlier if InDesign and convert? If so, the text engine is different in the new version and stories of reflow when you touch them somehow. You can force ID to recompose all stories by using the shortcut Ctrl + Alt + / Windows or Cmd + Opt + / Mac, then check carefully through all this.

  You can also force a restructuring by exporting to .idml and opeing, then saving it under a new name. (See delete minor corruption by exporting)

• Blog post content lost paragraph breaks

  I encounter a weird problem that I can't figure out yet. I added some blog posts and in the content of post window they show up as expected and tagged correctly (Fig. 1). However, when I find the post in the blog, everything is put together (fig. 2). Any thoughts on why this might happen? It was like that before I even did something extra style on the blog site. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  I would like to configure OEM 12 c for 1 a database of Test, but want to make installation as easy as possible and without as much control "Cloud" "tricks" for the management of several databases. A bit like the 11g Database Control / grid control.

  Not really. You can install Database Control for 11.2 db, but it is not really comparable to the Cloud control 12 c.

• Possible bug with paragraph styles?

  Make a page with three breakpoints

  Add a block of text for the breakpoint

  Type "The CO2 is carbon dioxide" in text

  Format of the text frame in red "BOLD" (from the text window)

  Click on 'Create a new style of the applied attributes' (in the window paragraph styles)

  Apply the new style to two other break points

  Select the number 2 in the largest block of breakpoint text and format it as a script (from the text window)

  Select the text block, and then select 'Copy the formatting of the text-> all breakpoints'

  Check that all three break points seem correct

  Save the Muse site

  Narrow muse site

  Site open from muse

  Note that the formatting has been removed from all three break points

  Anyone else do this?

  I am able to reproduce the problem. You certainly found a bug, and I think you're right that this has to do with the help of "copy the text formatting of...» ». I can actually reproduce the bug without the help of paragraph styles.

  The only workaround that I understood is not to copy text formatting to all the break points. He made the very tedious text formatting, but seems to work.

  Rather than use the copy text formatting at all breakpoints, try switching the tool "4 t / 1 t" text in all of the breakpoints.

  

  When the setting is "4t" (as in the screenshot), then any changes you make to the text attributes are automatically applied through breakpoints. Just be sure to return it 1 "t" If you need to make a change in a specific breakpoint. Note that this is a comprehensive framework for setting and not by text.

  GREP codes for all functions and special characters can be found in the help: help InDesign | Find/replace

  In this case, you do not want to change

  \r

  TO

  \n

  Be aware that this will stick together, paragraphs with all the consequences for its paragraph styles. I rarely do this (and then only unformatted text!) that I don't know yet if it will apply the above the following paragraph paragraph style, or vice versa.
