Parameters of a .mov file

Hello

I have this likely is a simple question: I'm not sure of what the settings to apply to my interpretation of the composition or the file when you import a .mov file in AE that was exported from FCP. The pictures attached are texture type sequence/FCP settings file. The problem I have in AE is any setting of comp, I chose: the video is smaller in AE. Thanks for any help

Picture 1.JPGPicture 3.png

If the film was 16:9 when shooting then you must interpret it as 16:9 in AE. Check the interpretation by selecting images in the project window and then clicking file > film > main. Separation of field is also checked here. The film is smaller at æ because æ it interprets as normal PAL by default. There is no tag in most of the codecs that define the BY. The screenshot that you have of the FCP is the capture info and parameters of the FCP, but NOMINAL information is not added to the .mov file.

Your Composition window has two options for the preview, Pixel Aspect Ratio Correction on and outside. (see the help files, if you do not find the button). With the correction off, you will see a better picture, but it will be slightly distorted. The best image quality is because you see each pixel. With correction BY lit pixels are interpolated, so there is some aliasing problems.

You cannot set BY when you export to DV codec for DV codecs is not a tag for this info. FCP and first know how to configure the capture so that they are well enough to correctly interpret the images. When you set up your makes all what you need to do is to choose the appropriate codec. If you are not going to do any manipulation more with the image I suggest you use the same codec (DV) that was used to capture. This will allow reading FCP without rendering. If you do a lot of manipulation more with images, I would say that you export high quality animation codec quicktime. It is a lossless codec that will give you the best possible results with a DV source footage. Animation codec will also hold up to a lot of rework without introducing compression artifacts.

I hope this helps. Is there a whole section in the help on setting up comps and rendering files. I got a must read for someone who is just getting started.

  • Not opening not QuickTime movie files.

The video files are Adobe SpeedGrade CC Classroom in a Book, purchased and downloaded from the site Adobe Press yesterday. The latest version of QuickTime is installed, downloaded yesterday as well. I even reinstalled SpeedGrade after that I've installed QuickTime, just in case.

When the files are located in the Office of SpeedGrade, he saw not the clamp. If I load them, it gives the message: "error opening file". However, I am able to import these files to SpeedGrade via Premiere Pro, and they work fine. I will not be able to use in Classroom has Book in this way, of course, as they provide .ircp files that contain specific sequences.

There are a couple of similar posts on this problem, but the solutions have not worked for me. A post says something about inconsistent information being the cause of the problem. Fps settings are accurate for video files, according to the metadata provided by the first. Another post said that it was because of QuickTime is not installed. I have already corrected it, nothing helps. Here's a screenshot for reference.

No other QuickTime movie file won't open either. I have files from a Canon 60 d which are .mov I can't use the h.264 codec. They will open in SpeedGrade either (but work perfectly on the first). Other video (.avi) files work just fine and dandy.

Here are the specs of the computer: laptop Acer, Windows 64-bit, 8.1 i7 2.20 GHz, 12 GB of RAM, 120 GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 M.

The GPU is recognized by SpeedGrade.

Thanks to anyone who has an entry on this question in advance.

The problem is resolved. I think it's my duty to describe what happened, I'm sure that someone will suffer this problem again.

I was helped by the Support from Adobe via Team Viewer. They took only a few steps. The first is to activate the default Administrator account by running the command-line as administrator, and then type "net user administrator / Active: Yes" without the quotes. This enabled them to disconnect my profile and log into the admin profile. Why? I have no idea. Once, they disabled my antivirus program, Avast. All of a sudden, SpeedGrade loading QuickTime files very well. They reconnected to my profile. Avast is still disabled. Correctly loaded files.

The conclusion was that Avast was blocking QuickTime work properly with SpeedGrade somehow. Once the Team Viewer session has been closed, I opened to the top of the command line and disabled the admin with the same profile but "/ active: No.» I restarted my computer. My profile was once more the only. Avast has been fully activated. No exception has been added to Avast. SpeedGrade always loaded the files perfectly.

So, my own conclusion? I do not know. I don't know what happened behind the scenes of the computer when these measures have taken place. All I know is that, as far as things seem, all parameters are exactly the same as they were when the problem occurred. Yet, everything is in working order. So if you experience this problem and all else fails, try the following steps. Hell, maybe even just try to disable your antivirus and SpeedGrade running.

In all cases, the problem is resolved, with the support of Adobe.

  • Export the settings of 1080 p .mov file?

I just spent from Mac to PC after 8 years on a Mac, so I do the Final Cut/compressor move to first/Media Encoder. I am a videographer wedding, and for each sequence, I provide a copy of DVD (.m2v) and give the couple a high definition thus .mov file. .M2v encoding was easy. However, I'm not having any luck with the HD files. I'll post the settings just below, but my basic question is, why was it the output file 23 concerts? I'm used to it being within the range of 2 gig, to where I can burn a data DVD.

PS - I just noticed that in the quicktime export settings, the print format was 1920 x 1280, instead of 1440 x 1080 (source size). That would explain the major difference in the size of the file? I'm an export now is 1440 x 1080, but it will take a while...

Here are the parameters of HDV 1080i video (60) origin:

Sorry - should have clarified - edition codec did not matter. I meant the codec you use export - but you have answered anyway.

The main determinant of the size of the encoded file is the bitrate; If you look at the original of your code using QT Player Inspector, you should be able to determine the transmission speed of this file. Then, you must replicate that in first. With the first QuickTime format, which made using the box rate limit and the field in the main video tab. Basically, you tell the encoder to use anything until this bitrate, as needed. If you do not use this box, the encoder will be empty as number of bits in the encoding as necessary to replicate the original file: this can result in heavy file sizes, you discovered.

In addition, you will probably want to encode a file at 1920 x 1080 pixels square; the problems aspect ratio unless you have to deal with, better it is, as many software players look at only the raw pixel dimensions and not IRON.

Final bonus question: you are keen to QuickTime MOV? There is another, perhaps more flexible output formats that you can use...

  • Convert MOV files to import into Premiere Pro 1.5 264

    Hey everybody,

It is in fact generated out of my previous post on the Kodak zi8 files.

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/700268?TSTART=0

We have established that PrPro 1.5 will not import the MOV files native to a Kodak zi8, which are of the 264 encoded MOV files.

What I need is some advice on an inexpensive way to convert MOV something 264 which PrPro 1.5 will recognize, I hope to a pretty decent quality.

I have QuickTime Pro.  But it has so many options and codecs and filters, I get lost.

Any help on this or any other way to convert them, would be much appreciated.

    Thank you!

If it works out for you try mpeg streamclip (free program) 4

    I just tested an export by a 1920x1080p 29.97 FPS avc h264 (same codec as your 1280 x 720)

Ann Bens that suggested earlier for you in the other thread, so if it works please give him the Star 'responded'... like the points going for a dinner of lobster from adobe.

Here images... Anyway my export file ends up being type avi 2 720 x 480 24 fps progressive to 16:9 and he plays well in the traditional media...

You can export first when you are finished with the 'other' audio parameters what do you give... or experiment with the audio settings in streamclip... I just chose mp3 as it is not an issue with me... ... .the audio sounds fine.  See images for all the info...

MP4 file was 28meg, export avi is 94 meg... because mp4 is highly compressed...

My preference in this situation is to edit the large clip to the timeline to set the properties of the project for 16:9 automatically.

  • icloud photos windows mov files

    Hello

no problems with my Iphone6 and sync photos to my Photos of Icloud running Windows.

All photos are here... but I also see a MOV file with photo... Why is it...?  Given that the photo is a pure why during synchronization jpeg or download I get also a MOV of the same photo file...?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi magellan99_98,

I understand that you have any questions about the files that you see when you import your photos. I know it's important to have an understanding of your files, so I am pleased to provide you with some information to help you clarify.

Read this article which gives a short explanation of Photos Live on a computer:

OS X El Capitan: Live Photo

With some iPhone models, you can shoot the Live pictures, include a still image and a short video clip just before and after the image. When you play a Live Photo, you see the picture and the video that has been captured with him. Not all applications can play Live Photos; in some cases, you will see just a still image.

Because these photos include a short video clip before and after the image, you can see a .mov file, associated with some images.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support, cheers!

  • What is a good program for trimming .mov files?

    Hi all

I hope that some people will graciously offer me their opinions and suggestions as to what program I use allows me to select precisely then change constantly (disable/remove trim) the first and the last a few seconds a short .mov file.  I want to end up with nothing else than the short central part of the file that may have been initially as long as 8 seconds, then after installation, reduced between 2 to 5 seconds.  I have a program that requires me to keep the original file is not necessary - I want to permanently modify the so ultimately it only contains this central part of the .mov file I want to keep.  It MUST be a very easy to use and inexpensive program out there that provides this edition absolutely simple and common procedure.  I realize each file should give no further action on two occasions, first to cut off his head (at the beginning), then cut off the tail.  Save the file and finished, then turned to the next file to edit.  I made the mistake of trying to use Final Cut Pro to do the job, but I learned from others on this community, as well as my experience, that the FCC was not designed for simple editing tasks.  Maybe when I am finished editing (Trim) my 86 .mov files, then I use FCP to assemble them on a timeline that is placed in an order that coincides with the lyrics of a song, but there, I just need to simply create precisely adjusted individual .mov files, I'll use for later Assembly.  Thanks to all who have and will come to my help.

    Tony

Hello! QuickTime is a quick and easy tool to adjust clips. If you right click on a file you want to cut and choose "Open in Quicktime" you can hit and then command + T to open the crop function. You then set the yellow bars to cut a few seconds on the front and drop the clip and then save the trimmed clip. I hope this helps!

You start to read a file and everything is ok, but then 2 minutes it starts to play up.

  • How can I move files to the system folder?

    Hi all

I was wondering how to move files to the system folder. With the update to El Capitan and the former program is no longer works and the developer suggests moving some files on the system folder that should fix it, but even if an administrator account I don't have write access to the system-> library folder where they need to go. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Steve

In short: you do not have. The folder/System is only for Apple.  The new protections in El Capitan make it impossible for you to place the files.

This is what the folder/library for: install additional components to the system, but keeping them separated from the basic installation.

What software are you trying to run? What files we told you to move? I'm curious to know what type of developer will tell you to put the files in / System.

  • import .mov files in pictures for Mac?

I took a few videos a short holiday with my digital camera. Saved on my EyeFi Mobi card before sending them on my iPad.

I sent them from my iPad to my iMac via AirDrop. But I'm having trouble getting the files. When I open them a black box appears which says conversion. They seem to be JPEG files now, not the MOV files.

I want to import these movies Photos for Mac, but I'm stuck.

    Any suggestions?

Connect the iPad to your Mac with USB cable and use Image Capture to download video files to iPad.  Make sure they are playable in Quicktime player and then import them into your library.
