Parameters of XDcam HD 422 - cuda in yellow

Hello

I'm under 5.5 PP on a macpro (2x4x 2.6 GHZ, 32 GB of Ram), on board graphics nvidia quadro 4000 card and a blackmagic capture Studio-card.

Projectsettings: Mercury engine is on / material

My sequence is set to sony´s xdcam hd 422, I drag a clip to the timeline - and cuda wants to make playback (yellow).

Test: When I opened a different sequence which maintains the Blackmagic-settings for xdcam hd 422, there is no line yellow or green or red, i.e.: none made it necessary for playback.

What is the way it works with cuda? I hope that no, it s should speed things up, I thought... Or: Is there something I need to change in the settings?

Y at - it a codec that works better in PP, as Apple prores works so well in FCP?

Best regards

Philipp

I still think his way time at Adobe to implement surveillance without third party equipment or codecs.  It is the most important demand.

Can someone give me a tour d'horizon with PP CC 2015 (Version 9.0.1) on iOS how to export to this broadcast specification?  Any guidance would be appreciated.  I'm looking in the MXF OP1a and there is no codec that stands like the one listed.  I'm also confused on how the codec indicates i60 (assuming that 60 fps interlaced), yet the frequency of images below says 29.97?  Any guidance or assistance would be greatly appreciated.  The network is The Sportsman Channel and format is directly from their 2015 Production guidelines.

Required format offered to me by the network:

    XDCAM HD 422 1080i60

    Container: MXF

    Video coding: MPEG-2 422@HL

    Color depth: 8

    Color sampling: 4:2:2

    Image size: 1920 x 1080

    Frame rate: 29.97i

    Video bitrate: 50 Mb/s (CBR)

    Audio coding: PCM 2 ch/16 bits / 48 kHz

    Audio: stereo Ch 1 & 2

Thank you all for your time and your help.

I would go for this: ignore the source.

  • Export MXF OP1a with XDCAM HD 422 codec 1080i50

    Hello

I use CC first and I want to export a movie as a wrapper MXF OP1a with 1080i50 XDCAM HD 422 Codec. I choose the XDCAM codec when I want to export is to one. MOV, but when I select the format MXF OP1a is does not appear in the list of codecs. Is there a way to do this in the first or Adobe Media Encoder, or what I have to come up with a workaround?

Stuff/XDCAM MXF is somewhat alien to me, but I think that's maybe what you are looking for (?):

    Format: MXF OP1a

Video Codec: XDCAM HD 50 NTSC (4:2:2)

    Command field: First superior

It is an XDCAM HD 4:2:2 codec which automatically exports in 1920 x 1080 and with the order of the fields in superior first, it should be interlaced.

Oh and I assumed that NTSC, but you would have wanted the PAL version of the video Codec.

  • What happened to predefined export [QT. mov XDCAM 422 1080i50 (MB/s) CBR]

    Hello peoples,

I have a memory to a broadcaster here and they accept QT mov XDCAM HD 422 1080i50.

Used the first Pro CC, and I managed to export QT mov with this setting XDCAM HD 422 1080i50... no problem...

After that I updated to first Pro CC to the 2014 version (where the interface is blue), it only allows me to export to MXF instead of MOV format. Apparently, they need convert or something to the MOV format, before you can use.

Is there no solution to workaround this? Much would appreciate your help.

    HEY birds,

You have Apple Final Cut Pro, Motion, or Compressor installed? My contacts tell me that now, you must have one of them installed for export XDCAM in a .mov wrapper.

Also, it is a codec export inherited. Can you ask your client if an encapsulated file, .mxf will be enough for the future? Export of QT wrapped XDCAM seems to go by the wayside.

    Thank you

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC: Is that I can export to Apple ProRes 422 on a Mac?

    Hi people,

I tried to find some information about it, but couldn't really find a definitive answer on this.

Unfortunately, my Mac is set where we are talking, I can't try this either...

I want to convert the mxf files (XDCAM HD 422 1080i 50, 50 Mbit/s with multiple Audio channels) to Apple ProRes 422 using Adobe Media Encoder CC.

Simple question: is that possible or I need to look for another workflow/converter?

    Thanks for your help!

    Jens

    PS: The OS is Mavericks...

    Sure.

Use the QuickTime exporter, and then choose the ProRes422 Codec in its drop-down list.

  • XDCAM HD .mov

I have a lot of xdcam hd 422 clips which turns into .mov files (I used the xdcam transfer browser), for the edition I FCP7. Also, my backup files are .mov and I deleted the files native xdcam. Recently I bought the CS6 for editing in Premiere Pro 6, and I won't use FCP (in fact, I do not have more). But it seems that the first not to handle my "xdcam .mov" files very well. It looks like bad streaming, like its something wrong with the pace. When I import native xdcam files, everything works perfectly fine. But the problem is all my old files, which is converted to .mov. I have to find a way that I can use them in first.

What I have to buy calibrated (http://www.calibratedsoftware.com/QXD.asp), or is there another way to solve the problem? Adobe maybe a plugin or another solution?

First Pro CC 7.0.1 added support for all flavors of mov XDCAM. For CS6, you will need to consider third-party solutions.

  • Project management, including files SD Captioned close does not work

I discovered that I am unable to project manage (media management), subtitled a timeline that contains items that have been close.

    (1) for loading a file of close captioning in the source window, there is a second video track that appears in the timeline panel.

The video of the second video track is identical to the video in the first track, the only difference being the top rail holds the captioning.

Deleting of this track (track 2 video) removes the captioning.

    SDCaptioned_V1V2_Screen Shot 2015-01-29 at 10.40.41 AM.png

    (2) when I try to project manage a timeline that contains HD (XDCAM HD 422 50 MB) and SD (ProRes 422), sometimes the project well will be reduce the HD images to just the clips used, but the SD card will not.

The size of the project as a result of the winds that can reach the size of the captioned SD sources, all SD combined sources.

(screenshot of full promo - all clips)

    TestTimeline_AllClips_notated.png

(full promo shot - No. HD (XDCAM 422 50 MB) screen clips)

    TestTimeline_NoHD.png

    (3) remove items one by one with only the graphics being the constant, the project never reduced to a manageable size.

For example, the timeline has a task that is: 30. In this: 30 there is a SD subtitled clip which is 01:12, as well as some graphics.

When project manage this chronology, the project shrinks to 17.7 GB (846 MB are GFX).

The size of the source of the SD subtitled clip is 18,14 GB.

(promo with 1 single file close SD captioned, more GFX)

    TestTimeline_DanielBoone_singleClip_Screen Shot 2015-01-29 at 9.49.19 AM.png

(4): 30 spot containing GFX (846 MB) and a single HD (XDCAM 422 50 MB) clip is going to handle the low project correctly.

    HD-JAG_XDCAM422__Screen Shot 2015-01-29 at 9.54.50 AM.png

    HD-WAL_XDCAM422_Screen Shot 2015-01-29 at 9.55.29 AM.png

(5): 30 spot containing GFX (846 MB) and one unique: 11 HD (XDCAM 422 50 MB) and a clip unique captioned: 03 SD (ProRes 422) clip will NOT manage low project correctly.

In this case, the project shrinks to 16.2 GB, the file source SD captioned 11,56 GB that is, and the difference of 4.64 GB is still too much for: video 14 MB and 846 of GFX.

We have noticed with CC v7.2. We thought for sure it would be fixed by CC 2014.2.

The inability to properly and effectively project manage (media management) put our FCP pending switch in the foreseeable future.

Adequate project management is essential to our workflow.

    Thanks for your quick response!

#1 works. Once I unchecked "include legends on import" the problem on

recently imported clips has been resolved.

However, already imported clips that I had removed from the project,

Stop the PP, has reopened the same project and imported back these (drug clips

    them from the finder)

These clips kept their captioning regardless of the change of preference.

I went to preferences, media, own Cache of database and no.

    change.

I would say that there is still a bug with 2014.2 of PP and its ability to fully

work with files already captioned SD files.

I don't know if I have HD captioned files to try. HD captioning work

differently from SD (SD captioning done part of the HD video signal

    captioning is in the meta-data).

good thing #1 worked... #2 would have been almost impossible due to the file

    sizes of used items.

  • Understand the memory host memory and comments tab

    Hello everyone!

In the computer virtual host memory resource assignment tab and the host cpu resources consumed in the physical machine (esxi host) and the memory of comments is close to the resources consumed to the virtual machines guests, correct?

    Thank you

    Sena.

    SENA,

The memory of the host is the amount of memory host the VM uses against what has been allocated to it (including overhead).

The way I understand it, the area of memory comments shows how memory is allocated to the guest - host memory, swap, share, etc..

Check out this yellow post - Bricks.com for many more details on the parameters of memory in vCenter http://www.yellow-bricks.com/2010/12/20/vcenter-and-memory-metrics/

  • Strategy for sharing media between Mac and Windows Premiere Pro

I hope that I write in the right forum, it's here or in the hardware forum.

I'll take the plunge and get a pretty high-end PC to increase my aging Mac Pro for Premiere Pro CS 5.5 (and probably 6 CS as soon as the kinks are developed). Right now my online media resides on several trendy readers fast eSATA RAID 5, on my Mac Pro through some eSATA PCI cards. It works well and I have pretty good bandwidth of 200MBS to 250MBS using this method, I think enough speed for the type of media that I use in my changes, a combination of XDCAM EX, AVCHD, H.264 Canon with maybe 4-5 rivers both in Multicam edits.

Adding from my PC to the combination will complicate things. I want to be able to access the media on my eSATA drives, which are currently formatted for Mac, using filesystem HFS +. I heard that the Mac drive can make Windows well read this file system.

The issue is sharing this media on drives fast enough for both systems be able to modify / access simultaneously. I do not have Gigabit ethernet, but I don't think it would be pretty quickly, I think that practically it tops on about 70 MB/second. I probably need more speed.

Also the Mac can share than the SMB protocol, but does not seem to the current Mac OS 10.7 sharing SMB very well but I test it with Windows. I know for my various boxes of media player, it does not work very well, or at any time to access my Mac 10.7 system via SMB. In addition, SMB seems to be a very slow network protocol. I can share via AFP or NFS, and I think that NFS is the speed you need, do not know if Windows out of the box can cope with this Protocol.

I know there is such a thing as "fiber channel" and other mainly tech to create a fast network, the Mac can also network via Firewire, but I don't think it will be enough or fast. I guess I could see if it was faster than Gigabit ethernet protocol using Cat 6 or what is the last type of ethernet cable. I am doing a shortcut here and see if the large number of people did and what they think works best.

Thanks for all the tips here.

    Kind regards

    -Keith

I guess there are a lot of variables, but change us on a network using the SMB and Gigabit Ethernet and working with fairly similar media (XDCAM HD 422, XDCAM EX, AVCHD or H264) and it works fine. We have two servers sharing between 3 and 4 editing suites. I think that if you are just sharing between two machines, it should be sufficient.

  • Export or convert into a broadcast Format

    Hello

I created a min of 4 1/2 short, video and exported, 1280 x 720 p using H.264 in mp4 file.  A friend of a friend showed it to a local television station.  They want to air.  They want it in Beta SP or HD CAM or CAM XD.  I have no idea of what I need to do to make this happen.  Any comments?

    Thank you!  Richard

XDCAM HD 422 sounds like a great option.

All you need now is their preference for physical delivery...

external hard drive to the bearer or upload to the ftp site.

    Good luck.
