parental control on LAN

I can't using 2 laptops connected with a teenage stepdaughter. I find all the locks 'Parental', authority, or restrictions are toured. It's okay, but it interferes with my work phone & social networking usage in my private life.

I suggested to get my daughter-in-law unlocked / not related to the account, but my husband tends to think that it is useless. I'm sure that this will be the case when our teenage daughter too - Fortunately, it is only 4.5, so we have a little time to keep practicing!

All advice welcome! I'm frustrated by that.

Part of my problem also comes from Facebook, shopping online & competitions, to help feed the family a nice Christmas! As I need to apply for jobs of tomorrow, it is something I can handle & face with myself...

Perplexed but happy.

Hello

You want to certainly that she have her own account, so you can configure the controls and add
all needs as she grows older. At the time she is 12-13 he will be telling you how to
configuration of the network. When she has her own account, it will be easier for you to use
your own. Of course, your account should be ADMIN and it should not have access
your password.

By account I mean a computer user account, it can share internet access you

I just installed macOS Sierra today on my 13 "Mac Book Pro (early 2011). I have only one user account that is an administrator account. Siri is not enabled on my machine. Same problem here. Updated for Sierra of El Capitan on MacBookPro 15 "(mid - 2014).

Even if I toggle the checkbox on the Parental control > others > disable Siri & dictation I can't activate Siri, the checkox is always gray and the alert says "Siri is disabled by Parental control.

Siri is enabled if I login as a burst, but I need it on my Admin account of course. Very annoying.

  • Parental Controls 10.6.8 - not allowing specified websites

Hello! I set up parental controls to 'Allow access only to those sites' and the system is blocking some Web sites, I have authorized (e.g., khanacademy.org and weather.com). How is it? Is it possible to fix it?

    Thank you

    Dawn

Weather.com is stuffed with ads, and probably blocking is due to advertising websites on their site. Go to http://www.weather.gov which is much more accurate and no advertising.

  • Parental control for iphone zone

I have parental controls on my iphones of teenagers. I can also set the AT & T data time limits. Adolescents simply change the time zone of the iphone so they can walk using data when they aren't supposed to.

How can I prevent adolescents to change the time zone on their phones?

    Soccer Mom

You can not. The time zone on the phone setting should not have anything to do with AT & T cellular data limits. Those based on time on the cell towers. Contact AT & T

Or just take the phone away from them if they can't be trusted to follow the rules.

    -Jason

Do you mean you forgot all the passwords for administrative accounts for Mac?

All you have to do is to go into System Preferences > Parental controls and click on the padlock in the lower left and admin user and password and then click on the device in the lower left corner and disable Parental control for the selected user

  • Parental control & YouTube

I turned on parental controls, and all of a sudden my Youtube app is gone, is anyway to prevent this app to disappear? I tried to allow youtube.com in the Web sites section to allow restrictions, but that did not help. Any ideas?

The app is rated 17 +, so if you want to restrict apps it be hidden – the only way to stop that is not to restrict apps (which allows to youtube.com as a website will allow it on Safari, it won't unlock the app)

I don't know if there is a way to do it through parental controls... If so I have not found. But if you have AT & T, you can buy the Smart limits plan for $5 per month and restrict by here. That's what I do with my son. It also allows me to cut its data from somewhere else if I remove his phone privileges (although wifi is still out of my reach)

  • My adolescence happens in the parental control

Whenever my husband and I set up parental controls on my five year old son iPhone, it's a total reset of the phone to return to factory default so that it has access to everything you want. Is there anyway to prevent this without our permission (Putting in our access code)?

The only way to prevent it from being able to do would be to define your iCloud unit account and turn on find my iPhone. You don't have to allow other iCloud services just AGFI. Do not give him the password to the account. If he tries to clear the phone, he will meet with lock activation, which means that the phone will be completely useless without your password.

Honestly, if he was my kid (I put ' 4), I would completely take it away from him and make him use a dumb phone. If you can't follow the rules, you lose your privileges.
