parseInt bug in Acrobat?

A script I have in many PDF files uses the parseInt() function to convert a string in its entirety. I just found that this does not work properly (at least to the point 8.1.2) when the data being converted starts with a '0'. Using parseInt('19') will produce the result of '19', but parseInt('09') happen the result of '0', 9 ' as expected.

I started using the parseFloat(), and that seems to work correctly (in this case, the value being converted is not fractional), but is this a known bug? Is this fixed in recent versions of Acrobat?

Acrobat uses a JavaScript engine that is compatible ECMAScript (ECMA-262, edition 3), and that's how the ECMA standard has defined the parseInt function.

ExtendScript is NOT JavaScript.  It focuses on the JS, but this isn't an ECMA language as it has been extended/modified for use in the CS applications so it may be different in the functionality from an ECMA-compatible language.

  • Another BUG in Acrobat 9.4.5 - Find does not work

I made the mistake of updating to the latest version of Acrobat 9.4.5 and discovered that the search function does not work well.  For example, I have to enter a Word to search for in the 'search' and click back.  In versions, previous PDF would jump to the first instance of the term or phrase and then highlight the word.  Now, the PDF page, but don't highlight the word!  Then... I'm stuck reading the text to find the word, which is a lot of extra work and the time I did not. This is a crucial problem because I'm looking for documents for the terms all the time in my work.

I found a workaround solution that is not very satisfactory, but it's better than nothing.  Instead of using ' find next in PDF ", I use" Open full Acrobat Search "which is a command on the search dropdown menu.  This command opens a separate window, which is inconvenient because it disappears behind the document if you need to browse the PDF file. However, if I do the research, it shows all instances of a component in the context of the sentence where it appears.  So, if I click on the occurrence of the word in this part two (Yes, two), it will highlight the word in the PDF file. You cannot use the following button as you could in previous versions, because this function will not put the word.  Anyway, given that there are other bugs in this version that I read on this forum, I'll probably go back to the previous version and completely turn off the automatic update feature in Acrobat.  I'd like to come back was a fast process, but I don't think it is.

I will also tell everyone in my circle of friends to avoid automatically update Adobe Acrobat in the future. Adobe obviously does not test the software well. Wish I could load Adobe for the time and frustration they caused me!

    Hello:

This morning, I was prompted to install the latest version of Acrobat 9 Professional, version 9.4.6

Fortunately, the find highlighting the bug has been fixed!

Curiously the Release Notes (see http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83708/attachments/Acrobat_Reader_ReleaseNote_9.4.6_8.3. 1.PDF ) do not mention this bug being fixed.

  • Big bug in Acrobat 9.4.1

In Acrobat Professional 9.4.1., it is a new default behavior that causes regular annoying pop up boxes that indicate that "document is in preparation. This long and adds no value.

To disable this aberrant behavior, eliminate Accessibility.api < installation root > \Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\plug_ins. The problem is that once this file is deleted, Edit-Preferences and the properties toolbar violent.

Does anyone know how to disable the behavior annoying without breaking Acrobat? If not, is there someone in Acrobat, listening that could unbreak the product?

    Edit > Preferences > reading

    • Reading order: "use of reading in raw print stream.

  • Opening Pdf Acrobat 9.3.2 without data.  Is this a bug?

In previous versions up to Acrobat 9.3.1 opening a file fdf data would open the pdf for data already populated.

However, 9.3.2,and pdf file opens without data.  Below are the steps to create the sample Pdf and Fdf to reproduce the problem

    1. create a PDF with 2 text fields and save the same.

2 fill out some data in them and generate the corresponding TOT by exporting the data in the menu forms-> manage form data-> export data.

    2. close the Pdf without saving the changes.

    3. now double-click the fdf, created in step 2.  PDF file opens without the data.

    4. Repeat step 3 in Acrobat 9.3.1 file Pdf opens with the integrated data.

Let me know how to join my example of PDF and the Fdf as attachments are not allowed in this mail.

Everyone knows also the same problem and if it is a bug in Acrobat 9.3.2?

Glad it helped; (for any nit-pickers out there, I should have typed sorry 8.2.2,).

  • Stage of encryption in the actions greyed out in Acrobat 11

I want to password protect a dynamic PDF (xfa) form stored on a network drive with an Acrobat action. When I run the action, the action show the stage of encryption in gray (disabled). It works with the flat PDF but not with PDF Forms. (XFA)

In Acrobat Pro 10 the same action works without any problem.

Y at - it no help for this problem?

I downloaded your PDF, open in Acrobat Pro XI test and had no problem to encrypt it. I have it encrypted with a password and it worked. I used two tools-> Protection-> Encrypt and file-> properties-> Security-> security method. I don't know what else to say. Sure you have Acrobat Pro XI and not Standard? You can encrypt PDFs ordinary (non - XFA) with the same copy of Acrobat XI?

After that I did everything that I realized you want to use the share feature to encrypt. So, I created an action of encryption with the tools-> Action-> create new Action Wizard, tried to use it and it did not work. Bingo! I guess it's a bug in Acrobat XI. I'll try to get Adobe to open a bug on it.

  • How can I make Acrobat save the scale (for example 01:50) when I save a document?

    Hello

I have a document (a house plan), whose scale is 01:50. Regularly, I need to load this document and measures using the measure tool. But every time that I load it up, the scale is reset to 1:1, so I have to right click and put it back at 01:50. Even if I then save the document, he forgets the balance and goes back to 1:1 the next time I open it. Is there a way to fix this, or is this a bug in Acrobat?

Thanks in advance for any suggestsion!

    Paul

There is no simple way to define the embedded document in Acrobat scale factor - it's something that would be set by the authoring software when the plan was traced first, and if missing then to change the scale of the tool updates the PDF header tags permanently.

  • Acrobat PDF plug-in does not appear in Word 2013

After you install Acrobat Pro XI, I don't see the Acrobat tab in the Ribbon bar Word 2013. If I use Word 2010, I see the Acrobat tab. Is this a bug in Acrobat XI Pro that will be fixed for 2013 Word/Office?

Good news!  After the application of the current Acrobat and Microsoft Updates, the Acrobat Ribbon is in 2013 office products.  Have not tested PDFMaker yet but it is a step in the right direction.

  • How configure tabbed pages to print correctly?

    HI -.

The pdf more complex that I have ever met (and harder than I ever searched on this forum) contains the TABS.  I don't want by tabs tabs in the window tab index, tab indents, paws on setting preferably, dialog boxes the tabs in the menu or the tabs in the browser.

The tabs, I ask those who are labeled "flaps" are protruding along the right edge of a printed document in order to facilitate the location of specific sections in the printed document.  Text is printed on the tabs rotated 90 degrees.  The paper on which the tabs are printed is generally a thicker and, by necessity, is WIDER THAN TYPICAL 8.5 "-so that the tab comes forward on the right edge of the printed document."  The text rotated (the legend of the tab) must be beyond the 8.5 width "to be visible in the tab when the book is bound.

I hope that I have not insulted anyone with my description, but I felt it necessary because "tabs" gives no relevant search results as well.  Now to my situation and the question.

The PDF I'm faced with a total of 300 pages, and 12 of them are tablets - to be printed on a tab.  The legend of the tab is already turned properly and positioned on the page where the tab should stay ABOUT - with the exception of one of the key issues.  The problem is that the widths of the PDF pages that will be the tabs are 8.5 "wide on the screen and the stock of tab to be printed on is 9" wide.  The question is how the legend to print beyond this page 8.5 "wide?

I use a Canon varioPrint 135.  It's a production machine pretty hefty with trays for different media sizes.  So I put the paper in the Tray 1 and the stock of tabs in tray 2.  The result is that the stock of tabs is inserted where there should be some simple pages but the legend of the tab is not printed in position on the tab but about. 35 "on the left.  In other words - the printer has correctly interpreted the PDF page width is 8.5 "printed in this width, even if she was instructed to use and well connected, a paper stock that is 9" wide.

As I see it - the solution is to expand those tab pages in the PDF so that the printer can see 9 "wide and print the Legend tab accordingly on the Media 9".  Is it a correct assessment?

What tool Acrobat, functionality, software, plug-ins or setting should I use to change the width of pages in a PDF file?  Is it still possible to do this with Acrobat?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

    Josh

Hi Josh, this should be pretty easy to do - however, due to a bug in Acrobat, it's a two-step process:

Open the document in Acrobat and implement the tool 'Set Page boxes' (via Tools > organize Pages > Set Page boxes, or by right-clicking on a page in the "Thumbnail" pane and selecting "Crop pages"). Select this option to change the size of the page using a custom size. Make sure that you select "Center" to the old page to the new, larger page and specify 9.5 "x 11" (Yes, it's too big, and we will correct it in the next step):

Now apply this change to your tab page and set up the tool "Set boxes Page" again. This time, we change the culture box so that only the 9 x 11 "page - with the text of the tab in the right position - shows:

To get the correct size, remove 0.5 "from the right edge.

Again, apply the settings, and you should have a page of tabs correctly formatted and size.

The bug in Acrobat, it's that you cannot specify a x_offset custom in the first step. This would allow us to just resize the page to 9 x 11 "and the offset of 0.5" and make, but which moves the contents of the page completely outside the clipping rectangle, and you end up with a blank page.

I extract all pages in tabs in a separate document and then perform these two steps on pages in the temporary document and then replace the existing tabs in the corresponding pages of this temporary document.

  • empty lines

    Hi again

does anyone know why emptyt lines are added to my script?

    Thanks in advance

We don't have to do with the editor. This is a bug in Acrobat. A blank line is added by Acrobat when a script is opened in an external editor, even when no change is made or if the changes are made but not saved before closing the external editor. This happens on Windows and Mac with all external publishers, I've ever used.

  • . PST to PDF conversion issues

I'm having a serious problem to convert .pdf .pst files

I'm able to correctly convert the .pst file, but the number of converted items is no where near the number of emails!

    For example:

I need to convert a .pst file, so I add it in a new folder in my Inbox.  This file shows it as having around 1250 points inside.

I then right click on the folder and choose export to a .pdf fill.

After choosing the location to create the PDF, I show the popup window "Create Adobe PDF".

This window shows only about 630 points to convert.

    Whats with miss match?

Without knowing this I can't say with confidence HR that the pdf file contains all the emails of the .pst file.

    Help, please!

    Thank you!

The problem is not. PST files, but rather a known bug in Acrobat for conversion of electronic messages in PDF format by which a certain process HTMLtoPDF has a memory leak and simply stop the conversion to PDF after execution of the address space. I'll try to get the development team to take the mothballs bug and fix it.

  • XFA initially invisible values when AcroForm values are defined

I want to programmatically (from an application custom client-side) give my users a form pre-filled and support AcroForm and XFA. I have included a bunch of XFA dataset and all values appeared in Acrobat. However, when I set the V= key in AcroForms entries to the value by default, I want and all values presented themselves alternative PDF readers.

However, when I open the file PDF XFA and AcroForm V= entries in Acrobat or Acrobat Reader, that the value of a currently selected text field is visible:

Only the selected field shows text

There is no mention in the PDF specification to a special flag to set when AcroForms and XFA are present. Is this a bug in Acrobat, or is my defective file? I've speculated that the order of the XFA and Field keys can be important, but it's not it no more.

How can I change my files PDF (for example) so that values are visible in Acrobat / Acrobat Reader at the start, without having to click in the field?

AP is missing. AP defines the appearance of annotations, although a few annotations can sometimes show a field properly without him - but never rely on it.

This is a known bug in Acrobat. The conversion of PDF to Office documents was never designed to deal properly with the languages from right to left like Hebrew, Arabic and Farsi. There is no work around at this point.

  • Leap year Date issue (example)

Please see the link to the document:

    Dropbox - DateIssue.pdf

When the drop-down list FROM 28/02/2016 chosen, the date of Monday throws an error.

The rest of the dates change, but Monday does not change because it is supposed to be on 02/29 (see the screenshot). Any help is appreciate! Thank you!!

    IssueDateScreenshot.png

First of all, you have an error in another script that causes this error message to show whenever you make a change in the menu drop-down:

    TypeError: DeptData [cDeptName] is undefined

    5:field:keystroke

In addition, there is a bug in your code for the custom calculation of the field Monday. The last line of it is:

    Event.Value = util.printd ("mm/dd /", d);

    It should be:

    Event.Value = util.printd ("mm/dd", d);

However, what you see is most likely caused by a bug in Acrobat itself. You can overcome by simply removing the size of your fields of date setting. You don't really need anyway because their values are calculated and allows you to determine what format they need in the calculation script.

  • Why make circles rotates 45 degrees in the slides not listed is not in PDF format?

I use Acrobat Professional XI and 2013 of PowerPoint in Windows 8.
