  Whenever I use my Logitech mouse thumb buttons to navigate, the back and the front function also seem to trigger the quick search feature (which usually happens with 'Ctrl-F').   I found out why. It's the add-on 'Hide Find Bar' which hinders the quick search.

• Quick search is case-sensitive. I do not think that this used to be the case. How can I 'quick search' break?

  Do the 'quick search' not quite as fast quick search is case-sensitive. How can I make case-insensitive? I think that it used to be case sensitive, if it's a "feature" can we have the old, faster, the 'quick search' in the back?

  You can open the normal search bar via ' Edition > Search "(Cmd + F) and remove the check mark in the box"Option match case.

• IMPOSSIBLE to uninstall quick time

  When I try to uninstall "quick time" using the Control Panel, add or remove an it comes up with "a network error occurred trying to read the file C:\windows\installer\quicktime.msi."  and when I approved it I get 'Add / Remove Programs "fatal error during installation.

  What is happening here and I can get rid of this annoying quicktime?

  When I try to uninstall Windows Search 4.0 via Add/Remove Programs, uninstall identifies more than 15 updates applied after the installation of Search 4.0 and warns that these updates may not work.  How valid critical amd is this message?  Is there a real concern of the other components of Windows XP does not if I uninstall Search 4.0?

  Good to know!  I was worried uninstall Windows Search 4.0 would create an avalanche of problems later. I have no use for the annoying thing. I'm going to 86 it pronto! Thnx for the reassuring reply.

  Method 1:

  Try to check in Manager tasks, if any process of QuickTime is running.

  If you find any process running, try to complete the process and try to uninstall the QuickTime.

  To do this:

  a. right click on the Task Manager and select the taskbar.
  b. click the process tab.
  c. click on the QuickTime process.
  d. click on end process.

  Now try to uninstall the QuickTime and check out them.
     
  You also, try pressing ctrl + alt + del or ctrl + shift + ESC on the keyboard to open the Task Manager.
      
  Method 2:
   
  Try uninstalling Quicktime by putting the computer in clean boot mode.

  Method 1.
  Check what happens when you use the on-screen keyboard. If it works fine here so you can check using another keyboard.
   
   
  Method 2.
  If the problem persists using a keyboard screen ion then run the sfc scan and check.
  Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file.
   
  To do this, follow these steps:
  a. open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.
  b. type the following command and press ENTER:
  sfc/scannow
  
  The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

  I deleted the quick search initial google which was at the top of my screen, but I can't add my google quick search widget back to the top because it did not allow me to edit this part. Thank you very much for your help!

  I think that the only way to recover is to remove the Xperia (launcher) home app data.

  This will restore the screens at home to the State they were when you got your phone.

  Settings-> Apps-> all-> Xperia Home-> 'clear data '.

  I have 2 hard drives, it is OK, the other is not.

  Thanks for the reply. I came across the answer by searching for something else. Do with FAT32 and NTFS.

  I couldn't understand why I had more tabs on an external drive compared to the other when I looked at the properties.

  Once I have converted my "defective" drive to NTFS the additional tabs appeared in properties and "index this drive for a quick search" and "compress this drive to save disk space" also appeared.

  Apparently you can not index the FAT32 disks.

  We use the AAU 10 g and there are 1,000 users to use it. There are millions of records in the server and users tend to use the wildcard searches in the 'Quick search' option on the homepage.

  There is only one way, we can disable the quick search.

  (1) first, the layout SHOULD be classic. To make a layout by default for all users, the config.cfg goto file and edit it with entry below.

  DisableAmberLayouts = true - this will change all users to the classic layout.

  (2) goto user profile and click on "design portal for XXX (username).

  (3) uncheck the quick search option.

  -My question is, how to realize for all whithout users asking them to perform steps 2 and 3.
