Partition recovery Pavilion DV6 or disks back to factory settings?

My girlfriend has the laptop Pavilion DV6 with Vista. She is not a computer person, so there is no serious problems it is locking up and goes really slowly. I'll get his PC to the factory settings, the problem is there is no disk and I don't know where the program is placed on HP systems. Is the partition on the HARD drive itself reovery or can I get HP support discs?  Thank you

    There are two options.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks - watching your model No. notebooks. You can live in the United Kingdom.  If that is correct, use the following link.

2 your laptop was initially provided with Windows 8, the activation key is stored in the chip of the Bios, so you could create your own Windows 8 OEM installation disc.  There is a cap for the Image file to download, you may need to try the period of a few hours.  Activation occurs automatically using this method as the key is read from the bios during the installation process.

  • Satellite A300-15 has back to factory settings

    Hello!

I have an old Satellite A300-15 and I want to go back to factory settings after almost seven years of never format the hard drive.

I did a little research on this 'how... "but I still don't know if the laptop comes with a windows recovery or not.

I have another laptop with a score of "windows recovery", but in my toshiba, the only thing I see is a recovery of HARD drive file in my E: partition. I don't really know if that helps the reinstallation of windows.

So if I reset the laptop with the method 'laptop computer Tower, hold the blah blah 0 button"it completely format my C: and need to reinstall windows or not?

    (Running Windows Vista)

How it works with the recovery image installation, you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

Start your laptop with F8 and choose the option to repair your computer. Follow the instructions on the screen and you will be able to install the original recovery image.

Installation of recovery described called the installation of HARD drive recovery. With other words, saved on the HARD disk in the folder HDDRecovery recovery image will be reinstalled on the C partition only and the second partition of HARD drive will not be deleted or formatted.

In my opinion, that you create the recovery using disc (DVD) preinstalled creator Toshiba recovery disc. You can use created bootable disks to install original Vista. When you use discs, the whole HARD disk will be deleted, formatted, new partitions created and installed Vista end.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Qosmio F50: HDD recovery entry missing - how to get to factory settings

I installed Win Vista from a DVD of Windows recovery in order to have a clean with the standard to avoid more VGA driver installation of accidents due to the nVidia card is malfunctioning. Installation has been set without doing anything on the HARD drive recovery partition partition C, in fact I can see all the files inside my computer folder.

The problem is that now I want to recover the original Win Vista recovery disk, but when I do F8 during startup, I don't see the Toshiba Recovery mode, even if all the files are still in the recovery partition.

Can I use any software inside windows to launch the recovery? Or any other disk recovery solution?

    Thank you!

    Hi mate

You need to create a recovery disk in the past;(à côté de l'option de récupération de disque DUR, il s est fortement recommandé de créer le disque de récupération dans le cas où quelque chose irait mal avec le disque DUR.)
I guess that the new operating system installation has changed the boot manager that was configured by Toshiba now, you have the standard Microsoft boot manager.

But I found this interesting forum thread:

    + 13:go to g:\sources\recovery\tools+
+ 14:type 'hddrecogui' (it will open the gui of the toshiba recovery tool process).
+ 15:follow instructions of the toshiba recovery tool +.
+ 16 Enjoy the original factory settings.

  • Need help with laptop back to factory settings

can someone help me on how to put my laptop back to factory settings

    Hello

It would help if you told us your laptop brand and operating system.

This is general information on how to do it:

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall using the recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery on the hard drive Partition reinstall back to how you bought your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

    See you soon.

  • I need to restore my laptop back to factory settings HP.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium. But I don't know if it matters at this point.  My laptop does not recognize my hard drive, webcam, location of the backup file, scroll bar, does not allow me to run programs troubleshooting etc... the list is long. I want to just restore my computer to original date and start from scratch. Help, please.

    Hello

by HP, I hope you mean that Hewlett Packard is the manufacturer, because the manufacturers have different ways to do

If you don't have a recovery disc as it never came with it, press F11 at startup to start the process of recovery back to factory settings

all data will be wiped from the hard drive during the process

Here are the two ways to do:

Restore the PC to its original state with the HP Recovery Manager of in Windows Vista

If the PC can be started and opens on the Windows desktop, you can use the HP recovery disk to restore the PC to original factory State by following the steps below.
    1. Click Start and enter the recovery in the field of research. Select Recovery Manager in the list, when it becomes available. Allow the action to proceed, if you are prompted. The HP Recovery Manager opens.
Alternatively, click Start , all programs , Recovery Manager , and then Recovery Manager . Allow the action to proceed, if you are prompted. The HP Recovery Manager opens.
    2. Click Advanced options , System Recovery , and then click Next . The PC will restart and reopen the Recovery Manager.
Alternatively, if the advanced options is disabled, click Next , and then System Recovery . The PC will restart.
    3. When the PC restarts, select the System Recovery option and click Next .
    4. If you are prompted to use the Microsoft System Restore , click No and then click Next .
    5. When you are prompted, select back up your files first (recommended) , and then click Next . Follow the on-screen instructions.
    6. When you are prompted to recover without backing up your files , please STOP before you click Next .
CAUTION: It's the last chance to change your mind recovery PC and delete all the files and programs. Once you click Next , the restore process cannot be stopped
    7. If you are convinced that you want to start the recovery process, click Next . The PC immediately starts formatting the disk hard drive and destroy all data.
The recovery process may take up to several hours and will return the PC to its original state. All custom, settings drivers, software and upgrades or hardware updates are lost and must be reinstalled.
Restore the PC to its original state with the HP Recovery Manager if Windows Vista is not accessible

If the PC does not start under Windows, it may still be possible to use the HP recovery disk to restore the computer to its original state. The Recovery Manager can be started during the boot process by following the steps below.
    1. Press on the button / stop to start the PC and press the f11 key when the standard BIOS guests appear on the black screen.
NOTE:  By pressing the f11 key at startup on a computer with an image factory HP will start the system recovery process, even if the message is not displayed.
      • If the HP Recovery Manager can access the hard disk recovery partition, a prompt to back up user files before you start the recovery
    . Follow the instructions.
    • If the HP Recovery Manager cannot access the hard disk to resolve system errors, you need to use the recovery disk custom that you created to recover the hard disk to its original state.
    • If you have not created the custom recovery disk, or disks are damaged, you can order a replacement of HP recovery CD.

  • When the Recovery Manager starts, follow the instructions of recovery step by step , shown above.
  • How can I get my computer back to factory settings?

my computer is slow and I want to restore it back to factory settings, so this has nothing about it except the important things, like when you get everything first... does anyone know how to do this?

Note that if you save all the important things, it will be lost after the reset.

After the reset, you should get all the updates from Windows Update EXCEPT for hardware devices. Then, you install a good antivirus. ONLY AFTER you have done this, if you replace the stuff of backups or install anything else.

Your laptop is equipped with a recovery instead of disk partition

    .

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

You may need to try several times to get everything above to work. If after several attempts, you have no chance, or the machine indicates that there is no recovery partition, your only option is to contact the computer manufacturer and ask for the model recovery discs...
