  You can set parameters of Pagecontext and transmit values through them. These values can be passed between pages, even if the AMs are different.

• Move the disks from 4.0 to 4.1 Server

  Hello all-

  I was wondering what to expect with my migration to a new server esxi 4.1. I am running esxi 4.0 with two disks of data with all my s vm in data warehouses. The 4.1 server is built and ready to go, can I just physically move the disks to the new server and it will recognize that they are already setup with data on board or he'll want to reformat the discs when he sees them? I hope that it leaves everything intact and I can just reattach the existing virtual machine. I have all the vm saved in any case to another location on the drive just in case.

  It should work exactly as you described.

  After setting the record, ESXi should be viewed as VMFS in "Configuration" data warehouses--> "of storage. All you have to do is to add virtual machines to inventory, by right clicking on the vmx files.

  EDIT: I guess that you have single disks. If you have a RAID configuration, ESX hosts must see logical volumes after reboot.

  After you destroyed the old volume then click on box x-raid disengage x-raid2, after you click the first hard drive and create new volume may create with jbod and you're done for disc 1. in regards to Player 2 u do the same.

  usually, I called disc 1 as data1 and data2 2 drive. You can use any name :-)

  You can try and remove the disc, remove the write protection (by reversing a tab on the disk), and then try again.

  If you do not have the valve on the USB, try the following steps to resolve the problem:

  1. Click Start , type regedit.exe and press ENTER.

  2. navigate to the following location:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrrentControlSet\Control

   

  3. control with the right mouse button and select new and key.

  4. call it as StorageDevicePolicies.

  5. click on StorageDevicePolicies and on the right pan right click and select new > DWORD and name it as WriteProtect.

  6 double-click it and set its value to 0.

  This will disable the write protection on USB/flash drives.

  Restart your computer and check to see if that fixes the problem.

• Extract the data from the ReadyNAS Duo 3 to disk?

  I have a ReadyNAS Duo chassis crashed with two drives of 3 TB in it. Both discs seem to work very well.

  How can I do to retrieve the data from disks of theses? they were in a RAID 1 configuration, so I guess I just need to extract one of the disks. Does it matter which drive is it?

  I started to connect one of the disks to an installation of Ubuntu and I can find from the disc with respect to the available partitions, but I get no info on the file system used, only that it is flagged as RAID.

  Because I don't want ot destroy all the data I was very careful when working with the partitioning tool. So far, I've installed and looked parted, gparted, gdisk and a few others.

  Since I'm really new to Linux, I need more detailed assistance with indicators to be used to access the drive.

  Any input is highly appreciated.

  Could you please help me understand is possible to change the HARD drive in 3/4 to? And if it's possible could you please share the part number & model of HARD drive (Western Digital are preffered)

  The 3200 only supports drives that are more capacious 2 TB in bays 1-4. In the bays, 5-12 you are limited to 2 TB drives.

  There are a few limitations of expansion for RAIDiator - x 86 4.2.x

  1 cannot extend over 8 to over the life of the volume, so if the capacity of the volume is 1.8 to when your last made a factory default (erases all the data, settings, all that) you can't expand beyond 9.8 TB

  2 cannot extend beyond 16 TB. Do a factory default (erases all the data, settings, everything) with the disks in place. However, with for example 8x2TB and 4x4TB using X-RAID2 it would create a layer using 12x2TB then try grow to use the 2 TB remaining on 4 TB drives and fail. You could use Flex-RAID and create several volumes.

  Note our RN3220 and RN4220 do not have these limitations of expansion but they use a different OS and file system

  You could get a 3220 or 4220 and new disks and backup data from the former NAS to the new NAS then reverse backup jobs to use the 3200 for backups of your important data.

  Last week when I turned my MacBook Pro 2012 I got stuck on the gray login screen. The progress bar moves very, very slowly and when he finished my laptop spontaneously restarted and repeated the same thing over and over again. Here's what I tried to do so far:

  Before that I didn't even used/accessed Time Machine.  I have a new HDD external, formatted for Mac. I created two partitions: backup and Time Machine (so I can start using it once I have find this current issue). When I try to restore disk0s2 external hard disk I get an error restore failed (252 or 254, I think).

  When you drive is damaged, it is extremely difficult to make progress.

  I recommend the lessee a spare drive in an external enclosure and install MacOS on it again. Then boot from that and you are back in business. You can use the full power of Mac OS AND additional utilities to recover your files.

  More 350 000 files on your damaged disc are Mac OS - and those that can be installed in replicas of prefect by a new installation on a new drive. You can't Brute force 'all' copy of a damaged disc. What you want back damaged drive is not Mac OS X files - you want YOUR files. They are stored in the Directory/users in a folder with your short user name. with additional utilities, you can simply copy this directory, or use a recovery as data rescue program to get individual files.

  It is not a 'bad' idea, but it is always best to use the version of disk utility which is part of the OS version installed. Do this by starting the computer from the Recovery HD.

  Fix the hard disk and permissions

  HD recovery start

  Restart the computer and after the chime hold the Order et R keys until the Menu of the utility is displayed.

  Repair

  When the Utility Menu appears, select disk utility and click on the continue button. Disk utility charges and select layouts withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) entry of the list to one side.  Click the first aid tab, and then click the repair disk button. If disk utility reports any errors that have been corrected, then again run repair disc until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, click repair permissions . Wait for the process to finish, and then quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu. Select restart from the Apple menu.

  If you don't have a good backup make one now. Always keep your Mac backed up on an external drive with Time Machine or utility of cloning like SuperDuperordouble clone.
