    Hi @arts4pat,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you get a secure page and that you are unable to print black on your HP Photosmart 5520 e-all-in-one printer. I'd be happy to help you with this.

I like that you get the login screen for the Built-in Web server for the printer. Is this correct? This seems to indicate that someone has put a username and password on the printer, for security reasons. If you don't know what are the connection information, the only way to remove this is to do a factory reset on the device. I can send you this information in a private message. In the forum next to your handle name simply click on the envelope to see.

That being said, I would like to start here. Please, try the steps in this guide, the printer prints blank Page or fact not printing black or color ink for HP Photosmart 5520 and Deskjet Ink Advantage 5520 series e-all-in-one printer.

  • Computer hangs and cannot open certain programs

    Hello

I've had my laptop (HP Pavilion dv6000 with Vista SP2) for almost two years now and I'm starting to have some problems. Until a month ago, everything was fine and in working order, however, I then had two "blue screens of death" in two days, and we've all been downhill since then.

After that, I got a message on one of my drivers being dead, but he came not again so I'm not sure what it says and I had too many other problems with my laptop used to be fine with things as simple 100%.

Some programs that I use often, such as iTunes and Football Coach today refuse to open in normal mode and only work in safe mode. In addition, my Windows Live OneCare is showing the message: 'Windows Live OneCare service does not work or has been arrested. To correct this problem, try restarting your computer. If problems continue, click below for assistance. "I tried the methods to run again, but he did not.

Also other things go wrong, such as the icons in my taskbar notification freezing as the network icons and battery, which allow me to click on them, but do nothing after that. Also if I try to open the update of Windows or my HP Total Care Advisor, then they both either do not open or just freezes on me.

I tried a restore of the system to a date when I know that these things worked, but this also does not work, and problems remain.

It would be better for me to just take down to a computer repair shop that it should be considered by a professional, or is it useful to tempt me all the patches, you may need? Any advice anyone can give me would be much appreciated, even if it is just telling me that my laptop is dead!

    See you soon,.

    How prevent we Shut Down

How do you define a computer or a user to prevent shutting down the computer. ?
I had an account with complete administration and he's doing a backup of Windows, but the other user is allowed to force closing down since the other user is always log-in (locked).

Is it possible to prevent users not to shut down the computer if another user is connected? I know it is the settings where you can change the Start Menu, but it is not good enough.

    Hello

I suggest you follow these methods and check.

If you have Windows 7 Ultimate or Professional Editions follow method 1, if you have Windows 7 Home Premium or lower editions go to method 2

Method 1: Change the settings of group policy and see.

You can configure the policy setting determines which users can shut down the local computer. Navigate to the following location in the Management Console (GPMC, Group Policy),

Click the Start button, type gpedit.msc in the search field.

    Navigate to the following location:

    Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment\ Shut down the system

Double click stop the system, select the user group you want to disable and click Remove > apply > OK.

Simply restart your PC and connect users to check if the function disable and remove Shutdown account works.

    Method 2:

    a. must turn off and remove Shutdown option by using the registry editor.  Open the registry editor, navigate to the following path: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

    b. Select Explorer in the left pane, right-click in the right pane and select new > DWORD; then name it as NoClose.

    c. double-click NoClose, and replace the value Hex 1; Click OK, and then close the registry editor.

    d. restart, you'll be able to disable and remove the Windows 7 Edition stop Home Premium or less in this way.

  • Equium L20-198: keyboard forgets to put the letters here and there

My laptop Toshiba Equium L20-198 plays up. The keyboard sometimes seems to be a bit lazy and forgets to put the letters here and here. It seems to be worse when you type faster; is this a driver problem? If yes where can I update keyboard drivers?

There seems to be none on the toshiba site. If it is not a driver issue - what is the problem?

    Any ideas anyone?

Don t think that this issue was caused by a defective keyboard driver.
I read some of the comments in this forum on similar keyboard problems on different laptops and especially BIOS update has solved a similar question.
I recommend to check and compare the version of the BIOS of your laptop computer with the version on the Toshiba page.
If it s a newer version then try to update the BIOS, but be careful!
Don't forget to use the good BIOS and the proper procedure because wrong BIOS can damage the motherboard.

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.
