• Demo ODI - question repository work environment

  I am a newbie at ODI and downloaded the software and demonstration environment (more instructions). The Installer seems to be okay, but when I get to the point where I should connect to the demo environment, I follow the instructions, but can't type in WORKREP as a repository of work - the field is grayed, and I can't go any further.
  
  I started the demo environment using startdemo.bat, and everything seems OK (or at least no error) apart from that.
  
  Am I right to say that the UCR does not need to be run, just to use the demo environment?
  
  Please can someone help? I would like to evaluate the product, but have to face the wall.

  Hi Ian,

  I checked the short video you sent me on my personal email. The error you receive is because of the incorrect password ODI.

  I think the ODI password should be CHARGE and not SUNOPSYS as stated in my original post.

  Please try with SUNOPSIS, password demo environment default ODI SUNOPSIS value, unless you explicitly changed it to SUNOPSYS.

  Come to your 2nd question, I don't think that any demo Virtual Box VM to ODI will be publicly available.

• VPN credentials cause problem of domain resources

  Hi, we have a few tech support (Win 7 Pro x 86) computers connected to our field office for the network, the folder redirection etc drives These computers use outgoing vpn to connect to our network of customers, by giving them access to remotely support purposes.

  When the outbound vpn connection is connected the local computer loses all access to network etc drives and clicking on results by style "account not found" error Including the loss of their desktop / my docs etc (all redirected folder) which is more annoying
  Now, I know it's because the computer tries to use the credentials of the vpn to connect to resources of areas and for some ridiculous reason this now fails completely under Vista from, unlike XP which would try the vpn and then falling back to the field (God knows why this would change but anyway)
  I found two workaround solutions
  1: use the command "cmdkey.exe /ras/delete" to delete the credentials, but must be done after each connection so not practical at all
  2: Add an entry to the Manager of credentials for the domain manually with her user and pass.
  option 2 works, but engineers have to hotdesk they keep having to add this credential whenever they move office which is difficult to say the least.
  I am trying to add a log in with the command batch file:
  cmdkey / add: DOMAIN /user:%username% /pass:xxxxxxx
  but prefer not to have a batch file with the password stored in users, is it anyway to pass the password login windows to this script using something like a (% password % esc) environment variable, so if the user changes his password to network the script still works.
  You can also at - it another way to add credentials to the Manager when connecting without interaction from the user (except their usual login)

  I recently installed CC & B 2.3.1 but I am not able to connect with SYSUSER and sysuser00. I could see the encrypted version of the password in Environ.ini but I couldn't connect to CC & B with SYSUSER. Help, please

  The standard configuration for using tomcat with CC & B does not support the password encrypted in the users.xml file - tomcat.
  Change for a version in clear text of the password, then the password will be sysuser00 if you use the default configuration.

  I create a script to capture the user password associated profile password, roles, dblinks, and grants from the database of all (development) before updating the it production environment. I was able to get the ddl to re-create all above animals with the exception of profile and dblink.

  I need the ddl that creates this statement: modify the user profile of username "ProfileName";  and even for the dblink.

  Any help is appreciated

  This will generate the required sql statement, we can create any statement, we want this way. The pipe symbol concatenate the required columns of table to your personalized instruction.

  I try to configure the password policy settings in an APEX runtime environment, but can't seem to find the properties that I need.

  APEX_INSTANCE_ADMIN SET_PARAMETER API does not respond to properties such as PASSWORD_MIN_LENGTH and not the set of properties that can be checked through the APEX_UTIL. Procedure STRONG_PASSWORD_CHECK (such as uppercase characters).

  Is there a way to set these properties in a single runtime environment?

  You should use the api APEX_INSTANCE_ADMIN. SET_PARAMETER in runtime installation to change the values programmatically when the administrator GUI is not available. The settings that you need are:-

  I was the Admin for an APEX (5) tool (hosted by apex.oraclecorp.com).

  I forgot the password.
  So, when I clicked on the change in usual password and received the email. I was able to change the password and when checked in the re-login, it didn't quite work.

  Yet once I clicked on reset password so this time, when I pasted the link to my mail it showed the error below.

  "Session state protection violation: this can be caused by a manual change to a URL containing a checksum or using a link with a missing or incorrect checksum." If you don't know what caused this error, contact the administrator of the application for assistance.

  Hi PKMRAO,

  the password reset link you get in email is specific to the session of the APEX where your asked to reset. When you click on reset the password, leave this window open, is not it not nowhere elsewhere to sail. Wait until you get the mail and then open the link in the same browser.

  You need to install on all domain controllers is because you never know that one will be be authentication of a user to. When the user changes the password it could come from any one of the domain controllers and each of them must be installed in order to capture the change and send on oim.
