Password files differ between versions of Firefox?
The 'profiles' page - where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data) seems to give different information (without specifying what it does) according to the version of Firefox you are using.
With v27, it is said that signons.sqlite is one (1) of both 2 files where the passwords are kept, but with v39, it says that logins.json is a file of this type. (In other words signons3.txt is the other file).
First, why the descriptions are different... and without explanation?
Second, if I go from a v39 machine a machine v27 and want my passwords to transfer via, I THOUGHT of backup and restore, my profile would do the job, but because of what I wrote above, it didn't.
Can you please advise me/us on this? Why are files different? Why the page even say different things without noting that it is what he does? How can I bring v39 past to a v27 machine?
Thank you
Bram Weiser
Trying to install an older version, as starting when Firefox 27 was still in charge.

Version 1.2.1.1 - signed -is probably the most recent version that can be used by Firefox 27; later versions are for Firefox 38 and later versions.

Import passwords from a previous version of Firefox
I need to import passwords from a previous version of Firefox (3..0.5) in version 28.0. I've read other threads, but they refer to signons.sqlite I did not, on the contrary, there is a key3.dB (which does not seem to contain valid details but with names/passwords encrypted. However, I have a signons3.txt.
What would be the best way to import them, preferably without uninstalling V28, install 3.0.5 transfer the necessary files, then the upgrade several times until the signons.sqlite is created?Hello, Screwball, key3.dB to the .sqlite database change first occurred between versions 3.0.x and 3.5.x.
try to download a portable version of firefox 3.5 to http://sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/files/Mozilla%20Firefox%2C%20P.E.%20Legacy/Mozilla%20Firefox%2C%20Portable%20Edition%203.5.8/ and then extract its contents into a folder. When you look in the folder it should be a named subfolder 'data' - in there manually create another folder named 'profile' and put the old key3.db and signons3.txt in this profile folder. Then, run the old portable application once and see if it will convert the file key3.dB in sqlite format that you can import (in collaboration with signons3.txt) in your current profile of the firefox installed...

You have destroyed my password file to new version during install.
Shame on you.
Was it an update directly from Firefox 33?
Or was it a facility where you skipped over a few versions?
If so, what version you used before the installation of the new? -
History of incomplete synchronization in the beta version of Firefox Android 50
When I look at my history in beta version of Firefox on my Samsung S5 I see that perhaps a few hours worth of history, but if look in the browser on my PC (Windows or Linux), I have a month value of history. That's what I want to see on my phone. I put off pose this question for quite some time during the latest versions of Firefox Beta.
There are many other issues as well. For example, why should I create a new account for the Mozilla support when I have already created an account for synchronization? I tried to register for support by the browser Firefox Beta and he wouldn't my new account, it just kept going back to the same screen where I filled out my new information with no reason why. The software also told me that I had to turn on the cookies, which were already lit only exclude third parties. I lit them completely and still does not solve it this problem.
There are a few other issues. Is there a way I can communicate with a person directly responsible for the development of Firefox instead of posting on a forum?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello
Thank you for your questions. Like most people involved with Mozilla, I'm a volunteer contributor, but will do my best to help.
With her, being designed for a smaller mobile platform, Firefox for Android have all the features you can expect from the desktop version.
Regarding the accounts, the account of Firefox (Firefox Sync) is a different process for the support Web site. Support site uses a username and password and the user can create a profile, while the sync is designed to allow a user to take their bookmarks and other data from the user with them when they move between versions of Firefox.
More than happy to discuss any other issues you have. I recommend asking them as separate questions in the support forum.

I have Firefox 3.6.13 and 4.0beta10 Firefox, installed
- in separate program hard disk files
- with separate profiles.
I want to share, but not at the same time, the file bookmarks.sqlite with both versions, without making a copy before the opening of each version.
- Is it possible, or even safe lead both to the same bookmarks.sqlite file so that it can be shared, as described?
- If it is possible and safe, what prefs do I need set in Firefox 4.0beta10 to use the bookmarks.sqlite file in the Firefox 3.6.13 profile.
Bookmarks are stored in the places.sqlite. It is not possible to share this file between different profiles.
I have several versions of Firefox with several profiles, and I use Firefox Sync to synchronize bookmarks.

WIndows 7, Firefox 42.0
New version of firefox, constantly keeps popping up a message asking me to "Bring your bookmarks and passwords with you." I am currently working. It shows me once then stop. OFF to Chrome I guessSorry, this is a message from the heart function. She undergoes a bug right now. Better to turn it off if you can get immediate relief.
To turn off the heart rate:
Talk openly about: config config in a tab, then search for browser.selfsupport.url and double click on it and set it to an empty value. You may need to restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.

I have Windows 7 and I was wondering if there was a version of Firefox called "Nightly"? The type of a Nightly.Ink file. Also, whenever I open 'Nightly' now, I get a popup of the program update and it says "update.exe". Is this a part of Firefox "Nightly" or is this a virus? Please answer this so I can relax. My email is [email protected]
Every night (a1) and (a2) Aurora built updated every day, so if you use such a developer version you will see an update every day (sometimes more than once a day in the case of a respin). These alpha versions are more intended to be experienced testers, because you may experience stability and regression of the questions at any time. The beta version (currently Firefox 25) can be useful for testing Web sites to see if they're going to get broken in the next Firefox release and file a bug report, if necessary.
Note that you must always install such version of development alongside a stable version and use a separate profile for each version folder.

The latest version of Firefox just downloaded 17.0 prevents Norton Identity safe to fill my usernames and passwords. Identity Safe still appears in the menu bar and will continue as an add-on, but it does not fill in the usernames and passwords. How can I reinstall the previous version of Firefox that worked well?

I had the same version of firefox. but after the addition of Messenger from yahoo to my computer, it adds a toolbar in my firefox and I was unable to remove it even after all I've done. now, I've had the same firefox and I want very barely all my lost passwords. is it possible for her? (I had a master password and I remember)
Did you remove your personal data when you have already uninstalled Firefox?
If you did with your personal data, including the saved passwords for your Firefox profile folder has been deleted.
If you kept your details then Firefox should have picked up this profile automatically.See also:

I need to access older versions of FireFox and checksum for these files.
For each version below, I need to download installation file and checksum md5/shaXXX of Mozilla for each download.

Solaris 10 x 86: Firefox v3.5, v3.6
Solaris sparc: v3.6.17 Firefox

All you want for current Firefox 3.6 is on the server FTP here:
There are two large files for the MD5 and SHA1 sums everything. Solaris is under the dir. of contrib
The current version of Firefox 3.x is 3.6.23. Firefox 3.5 is no longer supported and Firefox 3.6 is considered to be a direct update (aka minor update) to Firefox 3.5. When Firefox 3.5 users check the updates, they go directly to 3.6 for the security and stability fixes.
If you really need an older version for testing purposes, you can get any version of Firefox that has ever existed of the FTP server:
