password for comments

I have a Cisco Valet M10.  When I use my labtop to go on the internet, a screen will appear asking for guest access.  I don't know the correct password.  When I tried to type in olive64, it is always incorrect.

How do I create a new password or recover that he needs?

Hi Susannah49!

If you are the network administrator, you can double-check your Valet identifier and the password in the Cisco Connect software. To learn how, click here.

However, if you are a guest who try to connect to the network of your host's comments, simply ask the password of your host's comments. You can also click here to learn more.

  • XP pro guest password file and sharing - how to activate the password of comments?

    Hello

I want to share files between two computers in Windows XP pro. I also wish that these actions are accessible only with a password.

Here's a description of my installation:

I have two laptops: more than 1 yo Fujitsu - Siemens (FS) running on Windows XP pro (Finnish) and a brand new Thinkpad T61 (TP) running on Windows XP pro (English). Theses computers have active as guest account these accounts have also been password protected. Guest of FS account is called "vieras" because language settings and guest account of TP is obviously just "invited". Passwords comments have been activated using the "net user ."

    Success!

I solved my problem by changing guest passwords. I tried to keep it simple by using the same password for comments on both computers. This however allowed FS log TP without password of comments for some reason. My logic told me that having the same guest password would allow two computers to connect without password but it obviously wasn't the case. I guess Windows has its own logic that I can't understand, or this question had something to do with different language configurations. In any case my actions now work as I want to work.

This support is something that we are studying, but I can't give any kind of timeline.

Certainly, you can file a request for assistance on our Web site.

If you are more of a do-it-yourselfer, there is the open-vm-tools project on SourceForge, which leverages the VMware tools and includes the part of the code that implements the operations of comments. We'd love to take all the contributions to this project.

I also saw other people having the same problem with Twitter (see cannot verify the password and account name). • password for a user

    Hello

I'm looking to bulid password for a user in a position to confirm the password, also able to change his password if he needs.

    Thank you

    Florent

At first glance, it seems that you have a pretty good VI here.  You have questions or a specific problem with your VI you need solved?

A comment I have, is that you have a comparison to see if the length of the string is equal to 6 and you post a message it must be longer than 6 characters, it is.  What happens if you have only a 3 character password?  It is not equal to 6, then you will not get the error message.  I think you want<= 6 to="" raise="" the="">

You have nothing to detect if the password confirm actually fits the first entered password.

Also, I recommend the reorganization of the tab on the front order so that when you tab the first password, it will go to the password then confirm, then click on submit.  Right now it jumps right to submit.

Alternatively, you can clear the password for confirmation as well as the field of password after submitting changes.

In addition, what upper vs lower case.  Do you want that it is important that the user name or the password must be entered with the same case each time.

  • Password reset disk error - "year error occurred while the wizard attempted to set the password for this user account.

    Hello!

-A bit of background: the desktop PC that I use is Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, with active user accounts total five. I have my own account, and I can access the computer through (or through account from my brother, because I know its password).--

I had this problem recently came where the administrator password (that I know for a long time and never changed) no longer works. So, after some research, I created a reset password on a USB disk, that I found in my house. I managed to create the disc, but when I tried to put the new password, I got the message error "an error occurred while the wizard attempted to set the password for this user account', which I must say is not very clear. I found a few methods of force - reset the password for the account of the admin, as using a sort of Windows Vista DVD or go to Safe Mode to find the hidden administrator account... but I have no idea what this DVD is or where to find, and in Safe Mode, there is no account user administrator to be seen. I believe that my machine is corrupted, but I don't want to buy a new. I want just to reset a password...

Any help is appreciated. If I was not specific enough, I can specify in comments.

    Thank you!

    Hello

You must make a password reset disk before that there are problems with a password, not afterwards.

If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.

You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

    • Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
    • Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.
    • Scenario 3: You delete a protected administrator account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.
    • Scenario 4: You change an administrator account protected with a standard user account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

  • Windows mail and runs under Vista, recently started asking passwords for e-mail accounts, I had defined for the years

I have several e-mail accounts defined in Windows Mail (WM). In 2008, I created these accounts and WM has never had any problems email from their recovery. A few days earlier, a "Windows Security" pop-up appeared asking me to "Please verify that the user name and the password are correct for your mail server." I enter the user name and password and let the box 'Remember my references' checked. WM then recovers successfully by e-mail of this provider. I repeat this process to enter email ID and their password for each e-mail and WM account gets successfully mail from them all. Subsequent recoveries automatic email (that occur every 20 minutes as specified via 'Tools', 'Options' and ' check for new messages every xx minute (s) ' in the 'Général' tab) run without problem until I restart WM. So I must return all identifiers and passwords.
I deleted the entry for one of the accounts, WM restarted and then recreated the account. Once more, it works fine until I restart WM, date on which the impulse begins again. It seems that WM has lost the ability to remember the ID and password between sessions.
Comments for similar problems indicate that McAfee antivirus can be the cause of the problem. I use BitDefender Antivirus. I don't see how my AV product could be the problem because once I re - enter usernames and passwords, everything works fine.

Thank you Gary, but I don't know why BitDefender or any other product of anti-virus (AV) would be a problem. As I said, once I entered the login details and passwords, I am able to send and receive mail several times without the prompt that appears until I restart Windows Mail (WM). I speculate here but I feel that the AV product would have not had invoked until there was the mail for her to analyze. This would not happen until AFTER WM was authenticated by the mail server, and then began to receive mail. The authentication command prompt was certainly appear BEFORE WM tried to contact different mail servers. I know this because I could see send/receive the WM status window, where it shows each email account and compares it to the coast after a successful login.

In any case, when I started this morning at WM, it worked well! The only thing I can think of that would have fixed this problem as if by magic is that I applied the following Vista hotfixes yesterday:

    • Windows malicious software removal tool - January 2011 (KB890830)
    • Update security for Windows Vista (KB2419640)
    • Update security for Windows Vista (KB2478935)
    • Update definition for Windows Defender - KB915597 (definition 1.95.3662.0)
Then I did the required reboot. I'm skeptical that these corrections have a direct effect on this problem because when I started at WM after the restart, he asked once more the ID and passwords. I did nothing with the AV product
The key here is that WM works very well this morning in the same environment as yesterday, except for the above mentioned fixes. I consider this problem in the past, but I do NOT know what caused his in the first place or what fixed it.
Thank you all for your help!
  • Remove password from comments?

How to remove the password of comments. When I'm in the main user account, it won't let me. I can turn off and change the photo only. When I am connected to the guest account I see where change/remove, but it says: "Windows cannot delete.

    Thank you, Tiffany

Windows 7 love until now. :)

Do not use the guest account, you see in the user accounts applet in Control Panel. The guest account is a special system account, not one for when you feel hospital. For some reason, it is disabled by default in Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Linux, Unix and OS X.

    On TechNet:

"The guest account is intended for users who need temporary access to the system. However, if this account is activated, a security risk may exist because an unauthorized user could have anonymous access to the system through this account. »

So if you have enabled comments, turn it off now and create a standard/Limited (Vista, Windows 7, XP Professional/XP Home) for your visitors. Call the new user account to something like "visitor".

User - recommended configuration (Vista and Win7) accounts

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista and Windows 7 are OS multi-user with system built-in accounts such as administrator, by default, all users and guest. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want account only one user with administrator privileges on Vista and Windows 7 because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult. It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but it will take third-party tools and work outside the operating system.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null). MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • I forgot my password for the administrator account in Windows 7

I need to find my passwod administator can someone help me please

    * original title - I forgot my administrator password and I get nowhere *.

Comment of "No Mo" is grammatically correct, it won't you anywhere with your current problem or the other. Maybe one of these options will solve your problem:

    • Restart the computer with your CD to repair Windows, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if the problem occurred recently).
    • Logging in as a different admin account and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if create you an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you have activated the account administrator and know its password).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have created such a keyfile).

If none of these standard precautions work for you, then the remedy will be painful. Post again if this is the case.

  • Can I set a different password for my online account, by email and on the linked account PC.

    Hello

I think that it is on the windows system's huge security breach 8.

I have 3 PC and all of them use the same password (password of account).

My email is also using the same password too.

If I want to buy items in the store windows, I need to use the same password again.

Therefore, I don't want to make purchases of the Windows application because it is not secure.

It is because if your computer gets hacked or something, the hacker is able to get all your information of all accounts linked to your on-line account (e.g., facebook, e-mail) and all your live account Details payments. They can also delete your account if the computer is a reliable PC.

I hope that Microsoft is able to allow people to use different password for different purposes.

    i.e.

    E-mail

    Windows Store purchases

    Each Windows PC

    Manage the Live account

I like the concept for windows 8, but I think they still have room to improve. So, I hope to contribute.
If windows 8 store is safe to use, the store will work very well in the future.

    Kind regards

    Hi Simon,.

Thanks for the post and comments about Microsoft Community.

I look you would like to know if you can use a different password for your online accounts and emails and on the computers.

I would suggest that you can use different password for the same account on different computers. You must use the same password to buy anything on Windows Store. Windows Store is a secure store you can go ahead and make purchases from there.
