Password invalid?
I can't sign into my laptop? I am a student online and have the class tonight. I changed my password, and in my house, no one knows what it was either. When I try to connect, I get the invalid password. I tried to reset it with my reset disk (usb flash) and it gives me the same error message... What can I do to fix this? I'm short on time. The only thing I could think of was to reinstall windows vista somehow. But I can't do it anymore, because it is preinstalled. Help, please!
Some info to reset to the factory:
If the computer manufacturer did not include Vista drive/s, there should be a recovery hard disk Partition.
It's the way they do now, most of the time. We are supposed to do the recovery disks it ourselves, with the instructions included in the software of the manufacturer installed in the start menu > programs.
At the bottom of the splash Screen at startup/power on, there is usually a number key, F10 or F11, hit to start the recovery process, in order to resume the factory (out of the box) standards.
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Each manufacturer has their own way of doing a recovery to factory standards.

Original title: Second computer cannot find the domain of the first computer in a homegroup
I have a 2 computer homegroup. Each computer is says that it is a member of the homegroup. No matter what computer created the homegroup has no difficulty to access each other, but who later joined can not reach the first. There is always a message to username/password invalid. In addition, in the left panel, the computer that joined is not listed under "homegroup" but the computer that created the homegroup sees the one that was added. This works the same regardless of the order in which everything happens. I used to think some userid is messed up, but since it works when I reverse the process of creation/join I suspect it's something different.
Found. It still does not make any sense, but...
Remember that this is always the computer that created the homegroup that is the problem. When you go through Control Panel / homegroup computers are said to belong to a homegroup. When you go to networking and click to view the entire map, there is this message that says that you have been invited to join a homegroup. Don't forget, it's the computer that created the home group. In any case, logical, if you agree to join the homegroup, you have created - and the "homegroup" says you are already a member-all right. Works fine now. Go figure. -
Hello
I have been using OEM for the monitoring of the database. Recently, I've seen more error on screen
java.lang.Exception: ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused - wait_bottlenecks
So I reset password with the same value to reopen. I still get this error.
When I try to sign in with the same password in sqlplus, I get same error also.
SQL > alter user DBSNMP identified by the values '-';
Modified user.
SQL > connect DBSNMP.
ERROR:
ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused
I don't know why I'm not able to login with the same password I used to change the statement.
Thanks for the help in advance.
Let's not your syntax.
When you say 'identified by values' you tell Oracle 'this is not the password, but it is a salted and hashed password.
Do not use 'values '.
Technically,-is not a password valid, so I'll use it valid to demonstrate:
In 12.1.0.2, it will not allow you to use '-' because this isn't a valid hash value, so I can't prove that it works, but you get the idea

Data Guard - ORA-17627: ORA-01017: username/password invalid name
Hello
I have a strange behavior with a Data Guard on Linux and Oracle 11.2.0.2 environment. Since a few days, I have the following error in the database pending alertlog:
Errors in the /u00/app/oracle/diag/rdbms/SID_site2/SID/trace/SID_pr0f_22728.trc file:
ORA-17627: ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused
ORA-17629: unable to connect to the remote database server
First of all, I rebooted apply it on the day before without any modification. So I tried to connect to the primary database to the standby with .net Oracle successfully server. He also works in the other direction.
I also tried to copy the password from the primary server to the standby server and I restarted the transport and apply it.
The error occurs on the day before, but the most surprising, is that the Data Guard is always fully synchronized.
Why I get this error and what is the function of the pr0f process?
How can I solve this problem?
Hello
Check the underside of a Bug in MOS, I found it with the name of the function ""krsd_get_primary_connect_string " "
Bug 11809377 : AUTO BLOCK MEDIA RECOVERY IS CAUSING of ERRORS of PAST IN Word SLEEP PHYSICS
It seems that you have corrupted blocks in your database pending.

ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. How to know pwd of orapwd file
Hi, gurus,
I have this error after I copied the orapwd primary db during standby instance files and tried to log in to sys as sysdba:
ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused
Is this means that the sys password I provided is not the generated according to orapwd utility?
However I can log sys/password as sysdba if I put the oracle sid environment than DB.
Someone help here?
Thank you.Only the day before. He needs start on the new password file. So yes, cancel apply on Mt. Eve and stop and start and restart.
The newspapers will catch up without delay.
Dr. Paranoid is the product manager for the DG in the other link.

ZerandibYou can not connect to your database other than the user SYS pending until you Cancel the recovery and OPEN the database in READ-ONLY MODE.
Once the database is open, then only you can connect to the database in waiting for other users.
You can try it.

Hello:
I had to change my password for my Oracle DB and now I can't start Vritual Center. The newspaper said:
ODBC error: (28000) - [ODBC] [Ora] ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused
Can you get it someone please let me know where I should change its name to username/password? I use the ODBC for Oracle driver and if I click "test connection" and put manually correct (new) password login will be successful... However, I don't know where I should put for VC service...

ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid when using the TNS Alias
Friends,
I have this strange problem in 11 G R2. When I use tnsalias and connect using sqlplus username/password@TNS it shows ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. But the same works with ORACLE_SID. See below.
My understanding is that both connections use a TNS alias, but then does not work. Any help is appreciated.-bash-3.00$ uname -a SunOS ibs-ash-sr147 5.10 Generic_144489-06 i86pc i386 i86pc -bash-3.00$ env | grep ORACLE ORACLE_SID=DB1 ORACLE_BASE=/project/oracle/orabase ORACLE_HOME=/project/oracle/orabase/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1 -bash-3.00$ tnsping DB TNS Ping Utility for Solaris: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production on 17-JUN-2011 12:23:12 Copyright (c) 1997, 2009, Oracle. If the target db is 11g, then breaking the password may be the matter. Try placiing the password in quotes when you create the database link.
