Strong signal; connectivity limited; no ip address

All of a sudden my laptop does not connect to the router linksys wrt54g version 6.  The laptop shows a signal strong but under limited connectivity status or not.  I downloaded the new firmware for the router, but still have the problem.  I can connect to other networks wireless without any problem, so I think it's the router not my network card.   Any suggestions?

Have you updated the firmware on the router...?

Reset you the router after the upgrade of the firmware...? If this is not the case, press in and hold the reset for 30 seconds button... Release the reset button... Unplug the power cable from your router, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cable... Now re - configure your router...

  • Strong Signal, no connection

    I'm new to the Board and I've looked everywhere to find an answer to my question and I forgot or it is simply not answered, so I'll write it now.

    I have a BEFW11S4 v4 router does not work.  I followed the steps (connected my modem to the router and goes a line from the router on my computer).  I don't get an internet connection.  If I unplug the modem to the router and to the computer (as I always do) no problems.  I have great connectivity.

    My computer (in XP) shows a strong signal wireless to the router, even if the modem is not plugged in, which I find strange.

    The question is, if I run a hard wire like this: computer-modem-router or modem-router (wireless) - to the computer, I can't connect to the internet.  When I take the router altogether, all right.

    I can't follow the steps to change the IP address and other things (I don't know how do it anyway) because I can't conect to the internet with the router somehow, while the router is attached.

    I can drive around my neighborhood and connect to popular wireless at will so I know my comptuer choices these signals to the top.

    Any ideas would be great!  Thank you.

    OK, finally found a post of 'BrickMonkey', which list step by step what to do and now everything works fine!  Thank you!  You are the best!

    If you can read it in MAX, then you should be able to run the NI CAN example.

  • Explorer.exe connects to an ip address, could be a spyware?

    Hello

    Explorer.exe (located in c:\windows) needs to connect to an ip address (using port 80)? I tried the ip address and it wasn't something microsoft... so I don't know why he was having need of this connection. What is a spyware? my pc is infected with some kind of malware?

    I am using windows 7 Home premium 64-bit sp 1 with updates to this day, microsoft security essentials and windows defender with windows firewall is enabled and the latest version of comodo internet security. also, I scanned my pc with kaspersky, smart security eset, emsisoft anti-malware, malwarebytes antimalware, superantispyware, hitman pro, norton internet security... I downloaded also "explorer.exe" on virustotal.com to see if something is bad, but the site says it's ok. I really want to know why explorer.exe has attempted to connect to a non-microsoft ip address or other trusted software... I saw scvhost.exe transferring some bites this IP also.

    It makes me really worry... Help, please!

    A later edition... I was installing DrawPlus Starter Edition Serif.com when Comodo automatic with a Defense + alert saying something about "conduitinstaller.exe". I have no installer "leads" and don't know what it is so... I searched on google. Some said that it is a virus, some said it is a false positive... I have uploaded to virustotal.com and it had two detections: Avast (national statistical institutes; Toolbar - A [PUP]) and DrWeb (Trojan.DownLoader5.34457)

    I looked in my installed programs and found nothing connected to this "conduct" so I deleted... Something strange on the file, it was 'created the 05.01.2012' consulted one today...

    EDIT: solved conduitinstaller.exe things... DrawPlus was trying to install a toolbar for this product made with conduit.com. Strage is that you download this executable file when I chose to do NOT to install the toolbar...

  • A program called 'Strong Signal' on my computer.

    Question

    A program called 'Strong Signal' on my computer.  I have not installed this program.  My 'uninstall' command will not work to get rid of him.  Any suggestions?  (BTW - presented several other programs but I managed to uninstall those.  This means I've been hacked?).

    Thank you.  In the meantime, I opened a session in safe mode and was able to uninstall.  But still a mystery how he and backupmypc and two browser changes happened.  I was wondering how my computer was vulnerable to this.

    I'm new to VMware, I can very well do a MSTSC server and work proberly.

    the VMwareTools are out of date, when I log on the server and try to update I get the following message:

    vmware tools error.jpg

    any ideas here?

    I discovered that it is related to DNS

    WSATRY_AGAIN

    11002 (0x2afa)

    It is usually a temporary error during hostname resolution and means that the local server does not valuationauront of response from an authoritative server.

    the issue was that the VMware system was on a different subnet, and the firewall (TMG) blocked. bring the RDP to the Vcenter server and vsphere then open works like a charm

  • How to connect to the IP address by using a string of Socket?

    I'm doing a TCP Flash of game, and although I got it to work, I can't seem to connect to an IP address by using a string. The reason why I want to do this is so that players can type in an IP address, that they want to connect.

    Here's what I have so far:

    Sock.Connect (('192.168.0.22', 8080);

    It works and connects to my IP address and no one else on the same local network can connect to it as well, but if the server is on ANOTHER computer in the House, this IP address would not work. This is why I want to be able to have a string type in the game.

    I tried this:

    var ipaddress:String = ' 192.168.0.22. "

    Sock.Connect (IPAddress, 8080);

    But it does not work. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Something does not work.

    Sock.Connect (('192.168.0.22', 8080);

    var ipaddress:String = ' 192.168.0.22. "

    Sock.Connect (IPAddress, 8080);

    These are the equivalent instructions and connect takes a string of the intellectual property - it does not matter if you set the string in the connection itself, or before it don't.

  • Unable to connect to a wireless router (even with a strong signal)

    OK so I have WRT160N (I think version 3) wireless router and my problem is that I can't connect wireless even if the signal is strong...

    I bought last month and it works very well at the time, I can connect my laptop and iPhone, PS3, but now I can't connect either one of them.

    Try to adjust the settings of the router wireless to... Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press ENTER... Let the empty user name & password use admin lowercase...

    On the Wireless tab, change the width of the channel to channel 11 and 20 MHz only, provide a unique name in the name box of the wireless network (SSID). In respect of wireless security, check the security key... In the wireless settings advanced... Change the tag to 75 interval, change the Fragmentation threshold to 2304, change the RTS threshold to 2304 and click on save settings... Now let's see if you can locate your wireless network and try to connect...
