• Disabling Palm Tungsten E2 problems

  My 3 year old Palm Tungsten worked perfectly until yesterday. It is password protected and set to Auto Lock on power off. The power is set to turn off after 3 minutes. The problem is that if turned off manually it turns on automatically after 10 seconds. (password function intact) and only turns off automatically after 3 minutes. Change the automatic time setting makes no difference to the problem. The problem occurred after a HotSync, but this may have been a coincidence. I can find a number of postings on problems with "light", but none with power off! Can anyone help?

  Search for any appointments or tasks that are stretching from the end of December in the new year, especially with a reminder that overlap 12/31 - 1/01.

  Delete the appointment and see if the problem goes away.

  (I remember hearing this complaint before).

  I have a palm Tungsten E2 I can't warm to sync using Windows 8. I have it installed, which, according to me, is the latest driver for Palm and the installed program, but it is still impossible hot sync. There is no Bluetooth capabilities either.

  The error message, it's that there is no link.

  I went to ensure that the program was looking for synchronization via USB because it's what I use, so this isn't the issue.

  Connecting Palm Tungsten E2 (TE2) via Bluetooth for ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  No other requiered just internet activity, the two are paired, I can see TE2 on Win and Win tour on TE2, TE2 just can't connect with the tour, I got 2 messages according to the network, I try, so I think that I must correct the type of network, any suggestion?

  In the Tower, no palm software installed as I Don t Sync to any doc, the order of the day,...  Just interested in ICS.

• What is the best solution to use a Palm Tungsten 2 on a Windows 7 computer?

  Pushed by the end of XP, I bought a workstation HP Z230 running Windows 7 Professional.   I would get my Palm Tungsten 2 work, and I've heard several options here on that.

  Options

  Use Palm Desktop 6.2 with Bluetooth for hotsync.  (I've done this with a laptop Win7, but I use the Notepad utility a lot with a few macros, which is unfortunately not supported on Desktop v6.2).

  B. use Palm Desktop 4.1.4 in a virtual Windows XP environment running under Win 7.  I know that I can do, and it's probably my rescue.  However, Microsoft suggests that you disconnect from the Internet when you use the virtual XP, as it can be sensitive to piracy because they support no more than XP.   This will be a further nuisance that I will probably forget to do.

  C. use the USB Aceeca driver to make Desktop 4.1.4 work.  I tried following the instructions here to do, but when Hotsync fails, he never appears as a triangle yellow in the Manager list of devices, even after I followed the tip to make visible hidden devices.  So I could not even try the Aceeca pilot with Palm 4.1.4 again.

  D. install the Aceeca Desktop 4.1 and update their driver.  I might try this (uninstall Palm 4.1.4 and install Aceeca 4.1) but it seems that it depends on the same procedure to update the driver as my option C just above.  So I think I can run in the same c dam.

  Issues related to the:

  Someone at - it other ideas of how to get connected to Palm Desktop 4.1.4 Aceeca driver I could try?

  Does anyone know if Aceeca Desktop supports the installation of Notepad if I try the D option?

  I have now received Palm Desktop 4.1 to run on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and showing all the modules with my Tungsten T2 and without locking.

  The breakthrough was all the things above (including run them as an administrator) and adding to it, turn off the power of user access control, as suggested in another post unrelated by Dean (aka WyreNut)

  Here are the stops to run Palm 4.1 (not 4.1.4) on Windows 7 and synchronize with a T2.

  A. install Palm Desktop 4.1.

  B. when it tries to Hotsync and fails, look in the Device Manager in Control Panel and look for a reference to Palm with a yellow exclamation point in it.  Note: This palm reference appears only during a Hotsync.  Therefore, look right after a failure.  NOTE: If you do not see this device or the yellow exclmation point by it, you will probably need to uninstall Palm Desktop and start again.

  C. follow the instructions to install the driver of Aceeca instead of the Palm pilot.  (This is covered elsewhere on this site.  You must already have the driver downloaded and unpacked Aceeca and on your computer so you can navigate to it).  This should enable Hotsync to work.

  D. right-click on the shortcut to the program Palm Desktop 4.1 and go to the Compatibility tab and click on where it says 'Privilege level' and check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator."

  E, go to the control panel and disable user access control.  I didn't find this by going to the Control Panel, so I searched help and got the information.   There is a slider control and who slide down.  You will then need to reboot for it to take effect.

  After doing all these things, I am fortunately HotSync with my Tungsten T2 with its Palm Desktop 4.1 original.

• Sync problem with Palm Tungsten E2 & PC - Fatal Error Message on the screen of the PDA

  Recently my Palm Tungsten E2 will not synchronize with my PC. The following message appears on the screen of my handheld Palm when it tries to sync: "Fatal Error. ' Mgr.c, Line System: 4038, error launching Application. And a "reset" icon under the message that when activated, cause my PDA to reset through the sequence of the display date/time, etc. My PC system is Windows XP Professional. I recently updated my program to sync Palm from 4.2 to 6.2, which does not fix the problem I have. Your suggestions please?

  For this type of error, you need to reset hard E2. I hope that you have all your data in Palm Desktop. After the hard reset, change the desktop hotsync conduits replaces handheld and synchronize.

  You can export your data for backup purposes, first in case something happens during synchronization.

  The best way to protect your data is to export the data in each category of Palm Desktop in a separate folder on your PC.

  Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that suits. Name it something like Palm Desktop data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on this page for the export procedure.

  Make sure you only select everything for the beach in the export window.

  With the data stored in the created folder, make a copy of this file and save it on a USB key, cd - rw or external hard drive.

  Whenever you change in Palm Desktop, export the data that has been changed in this file and save again to external media.

  With this process you can always import the data in Palm Desktop, whenever you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop, or if your computer/hard drive/device crash.

  I have a new BB Curve 8330.

  Before I used a cell and a Palm Tungsten E2.

  I managed to export/import data from Palm to BB (via Microsoft Outlook).

  I thought that the Blackberry will be delivered with its software for calendar/contacts/tasks - but I see only synchronize with Outlook.

  I want to continue to use the Palm Desktop software and sync it on Blackberry.

  It seems that it's not possible.

  Is it?

  I have the habit of the Palm E2 and never used Outlook before. I like the features of Palm but BB does not work with it. Why does this work?

  You will not be able to use the Palm and Blackberry at the same time. BB does the synchronization only with Outlook. But the good news is that Palm will also sync with Outlook. If nothing is lost.

  Sync the Palm to Outlook, and then synchronize the Blackberry to Outlook. Continue to use Outlook. You will have no need of the Palm is useless since once you have all the info in your Blackberry.

  The functionality that a single out of the BB, it's that you don't have a portable documents, as it is in the Palm. I hope that manufacturers will think about fixing that in a couple of new editions to come.

  I love my Blackberry and it is easy to forget that it is so different from the Palm.

  If you like your Palm and can not get used to the BB then I suggest you get a Palm of Cingular ATT phone.

  I love my BB Curve 8330.

  I've learned it's pretty fast and I gave my cousin my Palm E2.

  Now, everything depends on how fast learner you are and how open you are to new.

• Don't Palm Tungsten E no more sync with Mac

  I have a Palm Tungsten E (OS 4.5.1P) who are no longer sync for my two Macs with OS 10.5.8 but still works fine with my PC computer. IE that Macintosh computers don't even recognize I'm trying to sync and via versa that the tungsten is not Mac, try to synchronize. It's as if I have no attached USB cable (which is how I always sync them there).

  In troubleshooting, I found that my Palm Zire 72 (OS 4.5.2P) can be perfectly synchronized with all these computers. What has changed? Nothing I think. Help please.

  Did you do a reboot on the Mac? Also on the device? Also have you tried a different sync cable?

  Those who have read the title of this post know that the solution is not obvious.

  I now have a Palm Tungsten E synchronization on a PC with Windows XP (sp2), I've been so far. I changed to a computer with Windows Vista (64-bit). I bought a Palm TX and a USB Bluetooth adapter to be able to synchronize between my computer and my new Palm TX. This is apparently the only solution that works with a 64 bit Vista computer.

  I have the calendar, the touch and the memo of my last sync files with my old computer.

  What is the market to follow recommended action to make this transition?

  Please help, I'm desperate!

  It's been a long road and difficult, but I think I'm finally here.

  I followed all your instructions for my transition from my TE in my TX as well regarding the WiFi sync and everything seems to be all right. I even downloaded a few additional applications that I had and they also work well. I will continue tomorrow, but I think that I have now a few on the situation. Your procedure for WiFi sync went exactly as described. (I kept my arthritic disorder all the time I cross my fingers.)

• Notes and Memos Categories deleted Desktop Palm Tungsten TX

  Friday, the memos and the categories were all there.  Saturday, the categories have all disappeared and many memos are no longer there.  I had a huge amount of memos. Those on the left beginning with the letters A to G and can be seen in the category ALL alone, with only 2 exceptions from the different letters.  Fortunately, I didn't have sync'd since Thursday so my Palm Tungsten TX device has still all the info.  What should I do to get this info in the office and not deleted it from my device?  Thank you for your help.

• Vista 64 and Palm Tungsten compatibility

  I read in some messages, but I'm still not sure if I have a problem.  I just bought a Vista 64 PC but not him have not received.  I use Outlook 2007 (not PalmDesktop) and HotSync Manager version 6.0.1 now synchronize my Outlook PST file.  My new system will work very well or what I need to do something to make it work (hopefully a work around if necessary).  My Palm Tungsten has the OS Garnet version 5.4.7.

  You will be unable to sync cable for Vista 64-bit. We found a work around using Bluetooth. You will need a Bluetooth dongle or your computer must be Bluetooth compatible to perform Hotsync operations for this computer.   I need your help to find and install the appropriate software so that I can synchorinise with my PalmOne Tungsten E2 and to be able to access the info on my PC too.

  Your only the most likely option is to download Palm Desktop 6.2.2 which is available for download in the first post of "stickied" on this forum.  I have not tried to install it on Windows 10. Check this thread.

• BlackBerry Smartphones transfer data from Palm Tungsten T Blackberry "BOLD"

  The selections are grayed out when I try to use the functionality of the switch in the Blackberry Desktop Manager to copy since the Plam tungsten to the Blackberry with the two connected devices.  What I am doing wrong?

  Thank you all for the quick responses and assistance.  What I've discovered, is that the Blackberry Desktop will not work with any office of Plam after 6.0.1.  I was running Palm Desktop 6.2.  I have uninstall 4.14e 6.2 and installed, that the Balckberry Office recognized and managed to synchronize.
