  • How can I view the repository of 12 c OBIEE 'active' in read-only mode

After using the data-model file - cmd.cmd batch download a SPR, SPR becomes a sequentially numbered file in this directory:

    'C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\bi\bidata\service_instances\ssi\metadata\datamodel\customizations '.

And I presume that the new file numbered sequentially (for example, liverpd.rpd_2) is now the repository that is actively used as referential 'live' by OBIEE.

Is there a way to open this deposit 'live' in the Administration tool?  If I try to do, I am notified that I can only open it read-only.  Well Yes, that's fine, that makes perfect sense.  (It also means I'm trying to open the 'live'.  So far so good.)  I am prompted for the password for the repository.  Type the correct password repository fails.  A simple dialog: the connection has failed.

Certainly, I type the correct password repository.  Is it maybe a bug?

Does not work like that more. This password is there for a reason (RPDs live in 12 c are MUCH more complex than before) and nobody knows - because you don't need.

You can Open the RPD online, or you can use the data-model-cmd downloadrpd to get a copy of the current version of live.

  • How to use a repository in a new report

    Hello

I'm starting to learn OBIEE and installed in my home. I installed OBIEE and used the RCU to install a deposit in an Oracle database.
Then I used the tool of Administration of BI to do a "repository" that connects to my data (also in an Oracle database).
In the Administration of BI tool, I now have a physical layer, a business model and mapping and a presentation layer. I saved it as a file on my HDD DPR.
Then, in the Oracle BIEE home I choose 'new report '. But I can not find how do I choose my 'repository' with my data. I also tried to make a new datamodel, but here I am also not able to choose my deposit.

How can I connect to my data in a report? How does it work?

    Many thanks in advance,
    Best regards
    André.

    You are totally getting confused...

    Have these figure everything out.

    You have installed DB.
You will create the schema (two users) in DB with the remote control (repository creation utility: basically stores the metadata required for OBIEE).
You install OBIEE and use these schema here.
Above installation install weblogic and then deploy on weblogic BI files so that they work. To remember the password weblogic.

Now when you open Admin tool - password repository must be "Admin123" (capital A) and username is weblogic and password must be the password weblogic.

You will be able to open to the top of the RPD in online mode.

I suggest you go first by the OBIEE Architecture then the installation and start the exercises.

Mark correct or useful if it helps. Also let me know if you were able to open the RPD and answers.

  • Repository for all users connection

    Hello

I have following question. I ODI studio installed on a machine. Many users use this remote machine via Office.
I created repository connection and I can't connect a. However, other users of this PC so try to connect to the repository do not this connection in the connection name list and can not connect. How vissible to all users? I can't create a repository connection on all of their user accounts and do not want to share the maste password repository db.

    Best regards
    Greg

Why don't you share the file snps_login_work.xml to everyone and tell hem to put in the userlib directory. Each user has many record userlib.

    For XP: C:\Documents and Settings\nom_utilisateur\Application Data\odi\oracledi
    For W7: C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\odi\oracledi\userlib

Error Message recd is "the password of user xxxxxx sending has failed. "Mail server pop.gmail.com replied: Internet connection required: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/787754. I went to this URL several times and went through each suggestion proposed, but unfortunately, Tbird was still cannot access my Gmail messages. Gmail asked me to change my password that some apparent bad connections took place. I met and changed my password. At this time, Tbird is only access my mails several accounts Yahoo - BUT NOT OF GMAIL! I can easily access my Gmail account via a web connection to Gmail with my new password. The hard problem for a week now... TBird asks me to enter my password (new) what I'm doing, but it can still access Gmail!

TBird has a password repository that needs to be updated?

I don't know if the problem is with Tbird or Gmail - but two applications do not seem to work as they did in the past.

Search eagerly what to do to have Tbird as it has for many years.

I am pleased to say that the use of the "less secure app" option in
Gmail enabled Tbird again to access and download my Gmail messages without a hitch.

A big thank you to all who took the time to offer help to solve this problem.

I do, however, wonder why Thunderbird can not be transformed into a more secure with all up-to-day-protection possible application in order to avoid problems for its users in the first place. But that is another issue, isn't it?

Once again, my sincere thanks to all who helped me.

  • DEV_ODI_REPO - security password, sign in to access the developer repository

Question about work of repositories and the safety of the master of the ODI. By connecting to ODI Studio in the "Repository connection information" dialog box, there are 2 sections. This first "Oracle Data Integrator Connection" specifies security level app ODI; ODI Admin would use SUPERVISOR and then created ODI Logins for developers with privileges to projects, topology etc...

However, in the second "Database connection information" section, this is where the DEV_ODI_REPO / [Passwod] (or another schema repository ODI) is specified.

If the developer should know the password DEV_ODI_REPO to create the repository connection, then what prevents this developer to use the DEV_ODI_REPO connection at the database level?

The developer can use SQL Developer (Toad, etc.) to directly access the repository Tables. What a security breach?

What I usually do is the following for a new user.
-I create a new ODI connection and set the security for this account.
-I connect with him so it is added to my snps_login_work.xml file.
-J' I duplicate the file and then open the copy and delete other users.
-I put it on the user's computer.

In this way, they have only access to their account and not to the supervisor.

  • Repository username/password

First of all I would like to say that I am a novice at ODI. I installed ODI in a 64-bit windows environment 7. I am trying to connect to my repository (be it) and I get this error message. I did a number of things to try to solve this problem. I dropped the repositories and recreated them. I made sure that the drivers have been placed in the userlib. I tried to connect to the master only. I've read a number of papers and forums, nothing of what I have run into so far has solved my problem. Here are the details of the error message I get:

All the help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

Because you give to master repository password invalid. This isn't the question with the SUPERVISOR password.

If it could have been a problem with the SUPERVISOR password, you will get the error
"* oracle.odi.core.security.BadCredentialsException: ODI Incorrect username or password."

Then provide the appropriate master user password.

  • Sync tells me I have an invalid account or password, but it's OK

Hello, I recently tried to set up sync on Firefox, and it seems to be okay on my desktop, running Debian and Iceweasel 21.0 since the mozilla repository.

However, when I tried to connect Firefox 21.0 from my Mac, I get an error. Firefox on OS X gives me the twelve character code to type in my office, which works, but after that Firefox on OS X gives me an error saying my account or password is incorrect. I checked I entered the password correctly and about: Watch settings I have the correct account name (this is my e-mail address).

I have the same error if I use the recovery key instead of the code 12-char sync thing.

Would appreciate any insight of what's going wrong here.

Have you tried to check the Firefox password manager to see if syn account data stored in it's correct?

    • Firefox > Preferences > Security: passwords: "remember passwords for sites".

Clear the cache and cookies from Web sites that cause problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox > Preferences > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox > Preferences > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile in the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.
