  Spry is a JavaScript library, and so the validation would be only client-side. The code that Nancy has indicated is also client only with the difference that the validation is performed by the browser rather than using JS-side. If you need to limit the number of characters, you can use the model as attribute

  Open windows control panel, open personalization, click on the link to screensaver at the bottom right and in the next window, Remove the check mark next to of "on the recovery, display the login page.  Click on apply to save the changes.

  Then, open windows control panel again and click on Power Options, click Change plan settings next to your currently selected power plan and then click on change advanced power settings.  Expand "Require a password on wake-up" and check the box No for both "on battery" and "Plugged in", then click on apply then Ok to save this change.

  However, for security, export the settings of MX 2004 first

  Site > Manage Sites > Export (remember where you save it to).

  If they don't transfer, then in the new version

  I was not on Dreamweaver for awhile, and I went to make some changes, I downloaded today changes and they work OK, so the connection with the remote site is ok, but when I try the live mode view, it is just with this error message: an unknown error occurred while discovering the dynamically related files.

  'Dynamically discover the relevant files', when Live View Browser Emulator tries to connect with online files which are related in your scripts or local file header. Usually the CSS or other script files. Check the paths of files to sheets of style related and scripts (javascript, PHP, ASP or other) in the pages that give this error. If they are local script (PHP) files, you may need to set a test server.

  Ok. It took me a few months to understand this, but I post this info for other Mac users who was struggling. The culprit is the keychain. Keychain is inhibiting the passwords of Dreamweaver. Don't ask me why... all I know is after I emptied the login Keyring (which was hidden, by the way), everything was restored to goodness and health and Dreamweaver works as it did formerly.

  You must define a site in Dreamweaver and need to set up your FTP server. One for that, you can connect with the FTP server where your FrontPage is loaded and you can get the copy of the said locally.

  Trying to create a password protected site. I have an intro page and want to have a password required to access the main site. I use hostgator and from what I see, they have only a username password access. I need just the access password for our members to access the site. I added ext to my CC of Dreamweaver server behaviors, but the + sign is grayed out. Ideas?

  As far as can remember, authentication DW server behaviors require a user name and password. In addition, they require a database to store these. It's probably much more complex that you need if you need only a single password for all tastes. If you try to protect different types of assets (images, web pages, etc.) then the password via your web server authentication is probably the best solution and people will need to enter login and password. Otherwise, you will need to create a simple php script that you include in all your web pages.
