past issues of Lightroom

Since the last update, my images in Lightroom now go underexposed properly exposed, flickering back.  Twinkling happens when I select a photo, and now it seems underexposed, but have not yet hit all the parameters.

I have also a problem with it is not connecting to my network external synology.  Even though I've already connected on my mac, the synology, he says that it is offline. I must so click on search, which re - introduces the reader and it gives a whole new car again

  • How to disable automatic sorting in windows 7 - cut / paste issue

    Hello

I use a folder image with thumbnails with files in numerical order.

I can manually drag and drop the file from one place to another without automatic sorting.

That is to say. I can drag the first file in the folder at the end of the list.

But when I use cut and paste, the file does not move and stays in the same order.

Is there a way to change its behavior like xp... where do drag and drop, or cut and paste works the same way?

Thank you for any advise on this topic.

Yes; It IS a resolution.  (Scroll down to "#4)  It is not very complicated; Just follow the step by step instructions.  I don't usually respond to forums, but Microsoft really screwed the dog on this one then as a fellow Windows-user, I feel obligated to share the possible resolutions.

Knowing Microsoft, they will empty this page to try to prevent some users to solve this annoying problem, so I suggest to copy the content of the link and stick to one. DOC or. TXT and share it on other sites there is.

  • Issues of Lightroom import of cr2 files

Recently, we went on vacation to Europe where I downloaded a cr2 file folder on my laptop of cousins in lightroom. I've never played change them but I export them on my hard drive. I am now trying to import them into lightroom on my laptop and lightroom tells me there is no file to show but there are all appearing in the shadows in the background, everything is not accessible. Any ideas on how to solve this problem by any chance? Cheers Chris

This means that photos have already been imported into Lightroom, and there is no need to import them again. Just go in the library Module, find pictures and use them in any way you want (editing, printing, electronic mail, etc.)

  • Issues of Lightroom CS4/El Capitan

I'm helping a friend who uses Lightroom 4 on a Mac laptop. She has updated to El Capitan and now Lightroom does not 'see' her photos. I use Adobe products as a designer, but it is a program with which I am not familiar...

I guess I'm trying to determine if there is a solution to workaround/fix, or if the new operating system has made its unusable/incompatible software for it.

And, if there is a way to recreate a link to his photo of the databases, how to do it.

I would like more information, I had, but that's all I know... Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

    Hi stacyk59574882,

Could you please confirm if you see the exclamation point in the upper-right corner of the images, or are the shaded images.

Cases where there is an exclamation point, then please connect the images and read the following article: Adobe Lightroom - find folders and files moved or missing

  • Two issues of Lightroom

    Hello

I'm fairly new to lightroom having recently upgraded from Aperture. I use the latest version of LR (not CC) and Photoshop CS6. I met two problems that occurred at the same time. If all goes well, I did something stupid, and this is a quick fix.

    1. when I edit photos, I don't see more the small icon in the lower right of each edited photo in the photo strip that runs along the bottom of LR. I don't see the icon in the grid view. I know that changes are there, as I check the photo before / after.

2 when I change a photo in PSCS6, I click with the right button on the picture and select "change in". Before a screen popped up giving me three choices and I chose the top "change and keep the changes in Lightroom. Now, the shortcut menu does not appear and the photo simply opens in PS6.

I don't know either of you, experts can help you with this! Please try to keep the simple answer, because I'm not an expert with LR or the computer.

    Thank you!

    Steven

You can go to the Preferences screen and reset all warnings. But you still won't get warning when you send a file raw from Lightroom to Photoshop. You will get if you try to modify a non - raw image. But when Lightroom and Photoshop / Camera Raw are synchronized simply doesn't have to offer that choice. You make adjustments in Lightroom, and then you want to open the image in Photoshop. Camera Raw is simply used as a conversion tool to convert the raw file into something that Photoshop can work with.

  • Performance issues of Lightroom after updating to the new iMac

I used an iMac 2013 end with 3.5 Ghz i7 and 3 TB Fusion Drive and 32 GB of RAM and had very good performance.

I've recently updated to an iMac of retina with i7 4.0 Ghz and 512 GB SSD and 32 GB of RAM. I also bought an external LaCie Big 1 TB drive which has 1 300 MB/s read/write speeds and put my Lightroom library, photos and ACR cache on this drive.

In view of these changes, I expect an increase in the performance of my previous system. However, I see the opposite. In Lightroom when I apply a preset, I sometimes get a beach ball of rotation for a few seconds before she applies. In Photoshop, using the Google Nik filters, I when I move the sliders effect is not instantaneous as it used to be; Instead, I see chunks of the screen redraw.

All other applications on my system seem to work very well. Photoshop and LR open both faster than they on my previous iMac. But their use seems slower that me perplexed.

    Any ideas?

I guess the beach ball, that you see is the generation of the 1:1 Preview or how long it takes to calculate overall gross instead of a preview of lower res. The display on these new iMacs is so gigantic that the standard preview size is way too small (the max is 2880 pixels long, which is a factor of 2 too small for the retina display). The machine of the retina has 4 x as many pixels as the iMac 27 "older. The difference in speed between 4.0 Ghz and 3.5 GHz is not enough to compensate for this difference in number of pixels that should be calculated from the raw to catch up so you should see a decrease in the speed if you're using Lightroom full screen. Try the Lightroom window about 1/4 of the screen and see if that changes things.

Simply press the button unsubscribe at the end of the email.  You might run a little test mode within 30 days, it is, or maybe downloaded from the link of the trial.  It's a pretty automated process.

  • Copy/paste issues

I'm working on a simple order form. I scanned in the pdf file and then manually set the fields in the form. Because many of the fields have the same size, I used copy and paste to speed up the process. Now when I go to enter text in a field, he enters in the text identcal all bonded areas.  Is there a way to separate each field?

Also, how do the text auto shrink to stay in the size of the form?

Thanks for your comments. I am new to this.  Here is the link to the file.

  • Simple copy and paste issue

I want to copy the 6 pages of text in an indesign document to another. Is there an easy way to do this without having to manually screw blocks of text into the new doc?

Not exactly in the same way, no.

No doubt you know how to copy the text you want (not executives - you cannot select fames on several variations at the same time). Quark requires a text box you can add content, but ID allows you to create blocks of text on the fly, so here's how I would deal with this:

Copy the text in the source document, then move to the first page where you want to paste in the destination document. You already have a frame on this page, but if you do, don't paste the text inside. Instead, hover over so your view is more or less centered on the table mounting and the dough without a picture or anything like that. The default ID will be a 2 "square frame in the center of the screen and filling with so that will fit, leaving the excess of rest.

With the selection tool, click on the Red sign in the output port of the small frame to pick up the text, and then press BACKSPACE to remove the frame. All the copied text will now be in the loaded cursor and you can auto-flux in your document the same as if it were a text file placed you.

  • Mapping of metadata fields for the Lightroom import process

Does anyone know what metadata fields using Adobe when playing jpg in a Windows (2000, XP, 7) environment? I tried many variations of the title, caption (subject), comments, and other areas. It seems that the areas are interdependent. If one is missing, then the same field may be used to fill two or more other areas. Adobe publishes a mapping or logical flow for the transfer of the metadata fields when importing? Yes, I understand that Microsoft broke all the standards known in this area, but I was using the "Windows Explorer" program for 20 years to fill the metadata fields in my image files. I'm now import a lifetime of photos in Lightroom for better management.

There are two separable issues: how Lightroom reads fields of metadata from photos, and how Windows Explorer writes of metadata fields.  Unfortunately, I don't think that there is a single document that authoritative describing each question.  The industry has made a mess inherited metadata, and very few programs trying to do quality work.

Lightroom has done a reasonable job to follow the industry standard, published by the metadata working group.  This standard unifies the three main mechanisms in which the metadata is stored in JPEG files and other file formats: EXIF, IPTC and XMP.    Many fields have defined slots in each of these three mechanisms.  For example, the capture time can be stored in EXIF:DateTimeOriginal, IPTC:DateCreated and IPTC:TimeCreated and XMP:DateCreated.  The MWG standard specifies how applications should read and write these multiple fields.

For a couple of the most commonly used fields, LR uses its own names: "caption" (for EXIF:ImageDescription, IPTC:Caption - Abstract, XMP:Description); "capture date" (see above); "title" (IPTC:ObjectName, XMP:Title).  But for the rest of the fields, LR usually uses the same name as that defined in EXIF or IPTC - standards are the names displayed in the presets EXIF and IPTC in the Panel metadata, in the right column of the library.

There is a dark corner where LR has made a mess: capture photos missing time (scans or digital photos very old).  Some parts of the LR will use the last modified time of the file, others the time to create the file (as defined by the Windows or Mac operating systems).  This gives very confused, inconsistent results that is easily corrected using the metadata > command change the Capture time.

About Windows File Explorer, as Windows 7, Microsoft has done a better job than average according to the standards of the industry (a little better), it's a pretty low bar, especially considering that there are many standards to choose but file Explorer has a lot of quirks.  It's been a while since I looked at File Explorer in depth, but I remember that he (like virtually all other applications, including LR) uses names for fields that do not necessarily closely match the names assigned by the standards.  For example, "Title" of the file Explorer Gets the mapping to EXIF:ImageDescription, EXIF:Title, EXIF:Description and IPTC:Caption - abstract.

    * * *

If you really want to get your 20-years-worth of photos loaded properly in LR (and I think you do), then your best best is to download the free "exiftool" and learn how to use it.  This is the tool the more authority without exception to examine and manipulate metadata.  To see where fields, I use this command line:

    ExifTool - a g fichier.jpg

I think that there are versions of Exiftool GUI, but in the past, they don't have to deal with the basic tool, and after a while, I found that they just in the way.

Then with a little trial and error, you can see exactly where the fields that you have stored with the file Explorer and if LR is read correctly.

  • Lightroom for Mac

Transfer photos from PC to Mac lightroom. When I asked with Apple technical support they recommended the copy on the desktop, then import with 'PHOTOS' prog on the Mac. This will create problems for lightroom? Or should I just drag them into the file picures?

End of 2015 iMac OS El Capitan.

Transfer photos from PC to Mac lightroom. When I asked with Apple technical support they recommended the copy on the desktop, then import with 'PHOTOS' prog on the Mac.

I can understand support Apple being clueless on issues of Lightroom. However, the answer they give is 100% fake, please don't do this. (And do not go to Apple for the support of Lightroom)

The correct method is here: http://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-move-lightroom-to-new-computer/ there is no import in question. Do not import.
