Issues of Lightroom import of cr2 files

Recently, we went on vacation to Europe where I downloaded a cr2 file folder on my laptop of cousins in lightroom. I've never played change them but I export them on my hard drive. I am now trying to import them into lightroom on my laptop and lightroom tells me there is no file to show but there are all appearing in the shadows in the background, everything is not accessible. Any ideas on how to solve this problem by any chance? Cheers Chris

This means that photos have already been imported into Lightroom, and there is no need to import them again. Just go in the library Module, find pictures and use them in any way you want (editing, printing, electronic mail, etc.)

  • I have a 80 d but iPhoto, Lightroom 5 & Photoshop will not import RAW (CR2) files

I just bought n 80 d and was happy with the possibility of processing the RAW (CR2) files, but all my photo programs will not import the files, because they are not recognized. iPhoto, Photoshop and Lightroom 5.  I'm under Maverick on my Mac.  Strange thing however, Image Capture will import them. Any suggestions?

The 80 d is a bit too new.  It is normal that updates camera RAW trolling a few months.

I see that Adobe does support your camera if you upgrade to Lightroom CC.  See: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2016/03/camera-raw-9-5-now-available.html

As for Apple, you can see a big difference between updates of the Mavericks:

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201071

vs updates for El Capitan (Mavericks is two complete versions behind):

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT205272

Even though Apple has not yet released the Digital Camera RAW for the 80 D update, I'm pretty confident that you will find that you have to upgrade to get to El Capitan.  BTW, OS updates are free from Apple.  Just launch your app 'App Store' and check the updates and you should see which indicates that an upgrade of the OS is available for you.  (Apple has stopped selling updates of the BONE several years ago.)

  • Lightroom will not import the cr2 files

I'm trying to import CR2 files in Lightroom and it is said that "certain import operations were conducted not.» The following files were not imported because they could not be read", then it will display the file name. I saw on the forum where it is perhaps a mistake to write, but I don't know where to go to change these settings. I use an iMac on the latest OSX and the most up-to-date CC. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not an expert with the product.

You go to your operating system (Mac Finder) and change the permissions on the folder to READ & WRITE permission. Which folder? The folder specified in the import in Lightroom under Destination dialog box.

  • Lightroom keeps loading CR2 files but don't actually load

Since this week when Lightroom opens a catalog or even when a new catalog is created Lightroom displays "loading" and then finally said "Lightroom has encountered a problem with the (new) catalog and verify catalog when it starts up next." Then it closes. When I then start Lightroom indeed, it checks the catalog but when click on any file CR2 the same thing I get ha\ve been importing since Lightroom 4 CR2 files so I don't understand what the problem is, I have reinstalled Lightroom, created a new catalog, but the question remains. any help will be appreciated?

    Hello

After exhausting all other options I finally managed to fix in any first uninstall Lightroom, by removing the corrupt catalog and then by removing completely all Lightroom of the whole registry keys. Restarted my PC and reinstalled LR6 a moment while it is important to the photos again, it finally loads cr2 files correctly, only a little slow now that it is always important to photographs (it takes about 7 hours), but I am sure that the problem is resolved.

    Thank you for your support

  • Help!  I can't import. Cr2 Files in Lr4?

I have a Canon Digital Rebel T3 and every time since yesterday, I tried to import images it told me it can't read the file *. CR2.  I am relatively new to photography but would like to know what a. CR2 file is and how all of a sudden I get their and he won't let me import them.  Accidentally change a setting in Lr4?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you!

I don't know, but it works now...  The. CR2 (RAW files, I discovered) are imported after changing the destination directory.  I didn't like the place where I had happened before as a destination.  Disk space is not a problem either...  So, I don't know.

  • Lightroom 2.7 question import of CR2 files

I've been using Lightroom 2.7 with raw images from my Canon G10 with success for several years, but I just had replaced it with a G12 Canon G10. When I downloaded my photos the first time, and I tried to import them, get errors telling me that they do not have the import. They are in CR2 format files.

Any ideas on what's going on? I can see the raw images in the end Canon software.

Your new camera has not been supported in Lightroom 2.7. You will need to update to Lightroom, or else use the 7.1 DNG Converter to convert your raw digital negative images. Then you can open these files with Lightroom 2.7 DNG. The version of Lightroom you use is really obsolete. I think you would find you get good results if you upgraded to Lightroom 4.1. But it's your choice.

  • Import the CR2 file does not

I can't import Canon raw photos, I get the message "the following files could not be imported because they could not be read:... cr2.".  The message arrives at the beginning that the picture appears after I press the import button.  What is new, I used Bridge instead of import and it works without problem.

    Please help me.

  • Why can't I import CR2 files in Lightroom?

When I try to import a CR2 file I get a response that the files are not recognized by the assumption of raw in Lightroom.

    I downloaded the latest version.

    I use a Canon 7 d Mark II

Click Help and at the bottom of the context menu, you should see:

    On Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1

    This is the latest version.

Otherwise, if you have installed via a subscription cloud creative launch CC Office and install the latest version of Lightroom from there.

If you have a purchased stand alone version of the LR5, go to:

    Help > Check for Updates

    Install 5.7.1

  • New to Lightroom, import of raw CR2 files problem.

I am new to Lightroom and can't import my raw CR2 photo files. In the section "import", I select my SD card that contains the raw image files. All the map .jpeg files appear as thumbnails, but the CR2 files show "extract not available for this file. I select one of the thumbnails CR2 anyway, select a folder on my external hard drive and click on "import". A window pops up that says: "this file is not recognized by the format of raw support in Lightroom." I use Lightroom 4.4 and works with a Windows Vista operating system (on a laptop old, junky). My camera is a Canon 70 d and am shooting in RAW + JPEG. I also downloaded the Adobe software. DNG Converter 6.3 to try to convert the files before importing them into Lightroom and it is also not recognizing and import my CR2 files. Don't know what to do at this point. Any suggestions?

I would recommend download DNG Converter 8.2 which is compatible with Vista.

The latest version 8.6 requires W7 and W8

  • [CS4]. CR2 file format not supported

I'm lying to import raw CR2 files in Premiere CS4 v4.2. I have no problem viewing in bridge or Camera Raw. It also looks like Adobe Media Encoder 4.2 will not install (it appears whenever I check the updates), but I don't know if this has nothing to do with the first problem with CR2 importinf.

I would be grateful for any help.

  • Lightroom will not import cr2 files in el capitan

Installed El Capitan on my iMac, and now Lightroom CC will read imported CR2 files. No problem prior to El Capitan. What is the problem?

    lanceb96342529 wrote:

Thanks, Sarika. Yes, that's the problem. The external drive is "read only".

Use disk utility, it doesn't allow me to change the permissions. This leads

me to the conclusion that the disc is "endangered". Fortunately, I have

    backups.

    Thanks again!

    Lance

This is because more than likely than external is formatted in format Windows NTFS and you had a utility installed in your earlier version of Mac OS X that could write in NTFS formatted disks and the update of El Capitan deleted this utility. OS X can read NTFS disks natively, but impossible to write in this format. You must update this utility a version that works with El Capitan.

  • 5.4 Lightroom import is not on a network cr2 files?

    Well, that's unfortunate.

New iMac, just out of the box, the operating system updated.

New subscription Adobe CC, all set to date.

5.4 neither Lightroom or Photoshop CC can import CR2 files stored on my NAS.

The Mac connects fine to the NAS. I can see the photos and copy them into my new PC, but cannot be imported.

I know that LR does not allow to store CATALOGS on a network, but I've never had problems with the original stored raw files.

    Any advice?

    It solved!

I don't know why it makes a difference, but once I mounted the network folder and gave him an alias on the office, LR5.4 has been able to import.
