  I'm trying to create a javascript script that counts the words in a block of selected text, adds "WORDS." at the end and then paste at the beginning of this block of text with a "BOLD" character style applied. So he would look like:

• How do I paste text in a text block created via a master page?

  I'm struggling with InDesign CS 5.5 (on a Mac under OS 10.7.4): I'm sure it's very basic, but I just can't cope. (I'm a photographer, not a graphic designer, so a beginner with InDesign.)

  I created a series of master pages in order to throw a book it is the photos and text of 50-50. I try to paste text into a new page, based on one of my master pages of text. I can see the text box on the page as a dotted outline, but I can't seem to stick in there. When I try and click a command-V, InDesign creates rather a small square box with the first words of the text inside.

  Should I have not designed my book using templates? I thought that if I placed my graphic boxes and text (for the legends as well as the main text) on these master pages, it would be easy to fill the boxes with text and images. Rather pages based on these masters look like tempting fantasies, showing me the ghosts of real text and graphics boxes that I need for my book.

  (I already had a disastrous initial attempt to add text to my document by placing the entire file, when I knew he would still form edition - I then couldn't remove the superfluous pages without creating text doubled on the odd pages; and when I tried to dissociate things disappeared around text boxes.) • Cannot paste into Dreamweaver CC 20141 after any browser on Windows 7 opening system...

  I could not stick anything in the Code or Design mode after the upgrade to Dreamweaver CC 20141 this week on my Windows 7 system. I discovered that if I restarted my computer and opened Dreamweaver without opening any browser (tried Chrome, Firefox, IE, Safari and Opera), then I could paste them in the creation and Code. After that I opened in ANY browser, however, I could no longer stick in Dreamweaver could not paste in Dreamweaver again unless I restarted and did not open to all browsers. At first, I thought it was a problem with Chrome (a common culprit) and uninstalled all of my extensions, but Chrome wasn't clearly the culprit this time. All five of my browsers (with system time consuming reboots in-between) has triggered the same inability to paste it in Dreamweaver. I had not installed the update on my laptop Windows 7 again, and I found that that always worked very well, so I uninstalled the 20141 to my desktop system update and reinstalled the previous version. That eliminates the problem, but I wish I could keep my Adobe software updated without experiencing these issues to the President.

  Thanks, Preran. After uninstalling the 20141 updated and reinstall the previous version, I have now installed upgrading 20141 again. Rather than jump straight into the restoration of the preferences, I decided to test it as-is, and it worked! No problem with sticking after you open one of my five browsers. I wonder what might have been wrong the first time... or which has been fixed during the process of uninstalling/reinstalling. In any case, it's working again now, and I am grateful. Thank you!

  I have a textArea1, I copy a different textArea2 htmlText in the current text box, it brings to the formatting of the textArea2, it's ok, when I erase the textArea1 text when I start typing, I always get the same format of the textArea2, how I don't know what was pasted into the textArea?   I found the solution, when copy us paste. instead of reset the htmlText property we were he reset the text property, which was causing the problem.

  Other applications such as TextEdit or Word seem to work well...

  I can select/copy/paste of Notes.app on a text layer, but it does not keep the formatting.

  As for why it works on mine and not yours, I can't say.

  When adding "BOLD" in Design view (fort) to two words at the beginning of my last line of the paragraph paragraph disappears. It's a bit worrying because it means that any change I make in dreamweaver could do massive amounts of damage to the content.

  We're pasting the original content in the mode code to strip the formatting that Dreamweaver then decided to take the last point source code line break and then remove it see example below:

  What strong application with the "BOLD" button in design discovers first words "Lorem ipsum" the last part of the paragraph "lobortis vehicula lacinia interdum odio" is deleted. Weird and very dangerous, especially for the content of the annual report.

  I think I've solved with the help of apple. I usually use dreamweaver on my imac, but I keep a backup of the program and my files on my macbook. It worked fine on my macbook. the apple fellow I talked today (and it was the first of five or six to understand this), suggested I remove all my fonts on my imac user, copy and paste all my my book mac user fonts into my imac. It worked.

  If you can't do that, it seems obvious that a user font is the culprit. deactivation of fonts in the font book wasn't enough, that you actually had to remove them from the system, he said.

  Help! I need to copy text from our Quark docs and paste it into my Dreamweaver pages. When I do, I get some very strange characters. I changed the page encoding UTF8, but it makes no difference. I can type the page fine, but if I stick in it, my text get the weird characters. Also, I can't remove the characters, because it will just change some of the text to a weird character... very strange and he drives me to drink.

  Thoughts, Yes.
  No word use to compose email. It is designed with a main function word processing program. To put words paper and it does it very well. In a most frightful manner, it does is convert loads of Microsoft owner formatting to HTML, using coded XML blocks which mean nothing else of Microsoft products to store binary data that simply does not belong to HTML at all. Blocks word of things such as links to OCX files (which sends anti virus programs bunta) it atg time treats every word in some circumstances as a paragraph and sends the family of font size and spacing of the paragraphs and a host of other information in a highly complex table structure that really should never have left Word.

  I recently had a guy here to try to get a signature to the work he had pasted from word. 10 words and three images were all contained signature. More than 2000 lines of HTML code were in his signature file to do what could be done in a half a dozen.

  Note especially that email does not send the police, nor does HTML, so if you select a font for the mail that the recipient does not, then, they will see a kind of substitute that my experience invariably looks ugly and unprofessional.

  If the appearance of the document at the reception is important, there is still no substitute for the PDF. It is the only way to guarantee that the recipient will see what you send.

  The question < bit much > says it all - there are several financial web sites that provide the account chart activity. With IE8, I could copy the mires and paste them into Excel with each "category" mentioned in individual cells (text and digital). This allows for monitoring and handling and, at least in some cases, was better than the "Download" function provided. When I try it with Firefox, all data is pasted into a single cell (reminds me of a delimited file importing - if digital indicators / text or cells separators are not identified correctly Excel will import all the data into a single cell).
