Pavilion 14-al015na: new HP laptop reboot without warning

I would like to start by saying that I am not savvy computer very waves and too complex answers will just go over my head. Honestly I do not know if I chose the right subforum for it (sorry if I don't!). Please try to put the answers in stupid people talk

I bought a HP Pavilion with a processor intel core i3 (this: http://www.johnlewis.com/hp-pavilion-14-al015na-laptop-intel-core-i3-8gb-ram-1tb-14-natural-silver/p...) there are less than a month and I barely use it's really for uni starts back. Despite this, I had problems several times with it restarts without warning, while I'm in the middle of something. I also had this error message once: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (bcmwl63a.sys) as it turns off. He also asked to be restarted for updates and just because he apparently wanted to basically all the time it is turned on.

I moved all my documents, photos and music from my old laptop (also a HP) to my new but I have left the program etc. files behind. My old laptop had issues where it would freeze and become completely unresponsive (does not restart as in the case of my new laptop) and have to be turned off by the power button, and anything I worked on to lose and it was one of the few reasons I decided to replace it. In addition, whenever I turned on it he grew up a pop-up, the kind you see when you install a program. I uninstalled the program in question, but the pop-up persisted. I've always had a McAfee antivirus protection on all of my devices - computers of my phone, which was connected to the time - but I guess that something got through between the cracks?

Basically, I would like to know if the issues with my new laptop are the result of a virus or not (the same who touched my old laptop?) and of course be saved or not. Thanks in advance,

I understand that your laptop will restart without warning after posting the message-"(bcmwl63a.sys) SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" once, it freezes constantly and frequently reboots, here's what I recommend that we do:

According to my research, it could be a bad driver, the origin of the problem otherwise we will need to perform a test of hardware on your memory card, I'll let you know how to do this, later.

To remove the bad driver, I recommend the following steps:

  1. Start Control Panel, click hardware and soundand then click Device Manager.

  2. Expand the node under network adapters, right-click the device entry, and then click on Properties.

  3. Select the driver, and then click Roll Back drivers, if it is gray in color (impossible to click) select uninstall drivers.

Made the above, restart the computer and then go to the HP website and download the latest drivers for your network card: Click here.

    Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked into your problem on your HP laptop and with that he closed without warning. Here is a link to restore the BIOS. Please note remove any and all USB devices and remove the memory card in the slot of the card reader. Disconnect all non-essential devices.

    Can get into safe mode with command prompt?  sfc/scannow should scan your system to find errors on the command line. You can see this Microsoft document on the system recovery options.

    Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system. If you need an update, this could cause what you have installed.

    I have a laptop - HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b000ej with Windows 8.

    Recently, she stops without warning, but only when working on the battery. Although I guess the battery is old and I need to get a new - I don't understand, is why the laptop stops instead of going to hibernation. I checked the power settings.     When I print a Web page to a .pdf or .xps file, it creates a new file, but file Explorer says it's 0 KB in size. These .pdf files will open, but they are white - the only thing that appears is the outline of a page, without anything in the outline. When I print an .xps file, File Explorer shows that it contains 0 KB. When I try to open it, I get a message saying that the XPS Viewer cannot open the file. These things just started for me a few days after I installed Firefox 40.0 on a new computer laptop of Toshiba Satellite with 10 Home Windows operating system. I have the latest version of Flash Player (in fact, I just tried redownloading and reinstalling the current version; that does not solve the problem). I tried to change the format by default to print to .pdf file, but that has not solved the problem. I contacted the chat Windows support site; They told me that it was not a Windows problem.     First of all, try to disable the extensions to see if that helps this, then try safe mode.

    Start > all programs > Accessories > system tools > click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)

    If this works it means that there is a problem with one of your modules, in this case, you can remove all the and start over.

    Try to upgrade to the latest version of flash.

    You can try to disable the firewall and check.

    We just bought a new Asus laptop that came with Windows 7 Starter as standard.

    A week later, we bought an Express Upgrade Home Premium 7.

    The upgrade has failed at first time around; following the advice of the community, I tried the following:

    Check all updates;

    Installed the CheckSUR tool fix;

    Disabled user account control;

    Disabled antivirus;

    The hard drive to find errors;

    Profiled selective startup in MSConfig.

    In the end, I got was a "invalid product key" - which it is not.

    Windows displays as entered, and I have SP1.

    As a last resort, I have reset the specifications of the factory and tried the Express upgrade as the first thing on the PC 'cost '. Upgrade failed after 25 minutes.

    In the very final resort, I reset all the solutions above workaround to the specifications of the factory again, re-directed (except by disabling the antivirus because I have not reinstalled which again - there is only Windows Firewall between me and the world wide). Update failed.

    I just tried to disable the Windows Firewall and tried the upgrade - my product key verified program, was asked to accept the terms, told me it would be as little as 10 minutes - but now it's to say the upgrade button that I entered is a version of Windows that does not work with the Express upgrade... but it IS an Express upgrade.

    It took nine days so far - please you have the magic answer? Thank you waiting...!

    You have already done most of what I have posted, but it can't hurt to read and review as it is possible that you missed.

    Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade fails:

    Then follow the prompts on the screen anytime upgrade.
    Basically, all you need to do is enter the Windows 7 upgrade product key.

    Another method:
    (Located at the top right) Start/Control Panel/small icons option / click the "Windows Anytime Upgrade".

    (E) if it continues to fail, try the following 3 methods:
    Method #1
    (1) run Chkdsk and see if it helps.
    Click Start / type: CMD and right click 'CMD' and select 'run as administrator '.
    At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r
    Restart your system, hard drive of your computer is analyzed to find errors and will try to correct them.

    (2) run the Memory Diagnostics to look for problems with the system hardware. Type of memory in start search and press ENTER to open the memory diagnostic tool open. Click restart now and check for problems. Your computer will restart and will start the diagnostic program. Please note the reported errors.

    Method #2
    1. click on start, type: "msconfig" (without the quotes) in the box and then press the ENTER"" key.

    User account control permissions: If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

    3. under "Selective startup", uncheck the "Load Startup items".

    4. click on the 'Services' tab, click to select the box "hide all Microsoft Services" and then click on disable all.

    5. click on 'OK '.

    6. When you are prompted, click "Restart."

    7. once the computer has been restarted, check if the problem is resolved.

    If your key is not valid and you will need to change the keys, you may need to Open regedit and remove first the ProductKey value in the following registry key:

    In any case, the activation of the CD key works only if you use the CD.  You will not be able to download it from the site and then use the key from the CD.  You must use the CD.

    This phenomenon was related to iaStorA.sys Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver from Intel Corp.  It is a buggy especially with SSDS driver or hybrid.  I'd install the most recent driver available, even if it is the same date that drivers become corrupt.

    If you have a SSD drive or hybrid don't forget to update the firmware and you really need to update to win 8.1, you will stop to get the updates bit of time if you do not have.

    I recently bought a new toshiba laptop, after I had put in place one of the first things is to do a backup. In the box were 5 know how records of recovery media which I assumed were virgins and make the back upward. When I put in the cd player, I realized that they all have been used. So where did they come?

    I use a Palm TX and have been timing it (via wifi) with Palm Desktop installed on my laptop for several years, with the help of you all.  I have a new Dell laptop, running Windows 10 and I would do the same thing on this one if possible.  I downloaded and installed Palm Desktop 6.2 for the new laptop and it asks me to synchronize my device.  So I attached the cable (thought I start with this and get the wifi part will later) and press the hotsync button.  The device will attempt to connect, but I get the message "connection could not be established... '. Check your configuration and try again. »

    I think I have the ability to HotSync via a cable is a good choice.  Aceeca for Vista and W7 and W8 files should work for W10 also.

    I also have a file at the beginning of the list of Wifi HotSync.  Go through it and see if you can get it to work with your laptop.
