Pavilion 15-p101nm: using all the RAM

I have 4 GB of RAM, 3.44 alone can be used by OS and etc, another 500 MB are RESERVED by GPU and CANNOT be used for other programs. When I check the properties and see "RAM installed," he said "4 GB (3.44 GB usable). Also when I run the Task Manager and look for physical use of Mem I see clearly that all usable memory is exactly 3.44 GB. So I want to somehow disable GPU on board and make all the usable memory, but do not know how... Actually I disabled it, but everything is still the same...

You can't just. On AMD a series it's an APU... the video tracks integrated into the processor itself and the switchable dedicated card is based on the embedded video. So you can't just use 100% of the system memory for Windows tasks. Some will be used by the video system.

  • Windows XP can be updated to use all the RAM on a PC?

    Hi all

I have a question that concerns me for centuries. Then Windows XP updated so that it can use all the RAM on a PC? The reason why I ask this is that I find a bit strange that my custom PC has a total of 8GBs of RAM but XP only can use a 2.96GBs total or 3GBs if I use one of my two video cards (currently using a GPU SLI configuration). So is one such update for XP or I'd be better off getting Win7 or Win8 when it comes out?

If I'm not mistaken, you need a 64-bit o/s (hardware Inc.) to address more than 4 GB.

    I hope this helps.

You are using Windows 7 32 bit?

All versions of Windows 32-bit client (not just Vista/XP/7) have a 4GB
address space (64-bit versions can use much more). It's the
theoretical upper limit beyond which you cannot go.

But you can not use all of the 4 GB of address space. Even if you
have a 4 GB address space, you can use * autour * 3. 1 GB of RAM.
This is because some of the space is used by the hardware and is not
available for the operating system and applications. The amount you can
use varies, depending on what hardware you have installed, but can
range from as little as 2 GB to 3.5 GB. It's usually around
    3. 1 GB.

Note that the hardware is using the address * space *, not the real
The RAM itself. If you have a larger amount of RAM, the rest of the RAM
goes unused because there is no address to map space to.

  • Premiere Pro using all the RAM

I recently finished a short film I made with my friends and it was a little more advanced than any other video I've ever done. According to me, whenever I opened the project, it was about 300 points of loading, at least that's what it says at the bottom. Anyway, I have a macbook 15 inch pro (mid 2010 model) with an Intel Core i5 2.4 GHz and 8 GB of RAM and I am running Adobe first Pro CS5 and editing DSLR images. For some reason any, since I started to get into the middle of this project and import images more PP took all my RAM and running very slow. I have a tracker memory and it goes from about 7.2 up to 100 MB. Really, it slows down when I'm searching through film imported for a reason, but he has never done this before. The strange thing is that when I do an Adobe Dynamic Link with AE and I'm editing in AE, RAM back up to about 3 GB, but as soon as I switch to the PP and start through several images and editing, it goes back up to 100 MB. At this time I export a video which is 3117 mb in size and about 13 minutes. It was about 2 hours and it has a 45 minutes left and moves up and down anywhere from 30 MB to 400 MB of free space, RAM my tracker. I hope that I have enough information for you guys. If it helps, I have about 75 GB free on my internal 320 GB HD, but I was lower than that and PP ran very well. My guess is that it's because of all the files that I imported into the project.

It would be useful to know the resolution/codec sequences, but honestly, I think I can answer without.

    (A) DSLR images tend to be highly compressed which means CPU and memory intensive use.

    (B) large amounts of images will use the large amount of memory.

    (C) your system is not only of great power.  You will need to make a few concessions to the material.

Well, I ordered anoter 3 GB of ram to my computer 4 days ago and it won't come for like 10 days. But I guess the same thing will happen to the extra 3 GB of ram and it will not read everything. • Dell PowerEdge T110 is not using all the Ram installed

Hi, my name is Juan Marrero.  I work for bike Stop, Inc. in Puerto Rico.

I've recently upgraded the processor and RAM to our PowerEdge T110 server.  Initially, there were only 4 GB of RAM.  Now he has installed 16GB but only 8 GB are usable.

The processor is an Intel Xeon x 3430 and has been upgraded to an Intel Xeon x 3470.  No problem here.

The specifications of the memories are: 4 GB DDR3 PC3 - 10600 ECC Unbuffered DIMM (4 of them)

for a total of 16 GB of RAM.  I searched the internet and found nothing in the BIOS to not limit to 8 GB.

Is there a limitation, no matter what the motherboard and processor say they can handle?

I thought. The Foundation is limited to 8 GB:

Yes, Yes... and no. All applications on your computer uses RAM, not only the pagefile or system (kernel).

What are you really trying to do?

  • I have 2 versions of windows vista running on my computer. One is before it crashed and it took all the RAM (Ram)

I can't clean the discs because I can't load any programs because the memory has faded.  So I can not put a page of my computer desktop or download programs, I need to get my images that I have on the other program running.  I can't open one of these programs because I don't have the authorization even if I was always the user and administrator.  What I would do.  Can I add more memory Ram?  Can I remove the old stuff that I can't open anyway.  DLLs etc.  I downloaded vista 2pr, but it does not work.

    Hello

Here is the information from your other question here about it:

"I can't collect any information of my system information page."  When I connect I get redirected to a page that asks me what version of vista I want to open.  One is Microsoft vista and the other is windows vista.  The Microsoft is the only one that works. The other takes me a blank page. »

"I have 2 versions of windows vista running on my computer. One is before it crashed and it took all the RAM (Ram).

I suggest that you save your data and reinstall the operating system properly.

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

See what methos works for you.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

  • Use of the RAM mounted fast

I noticed that my computer suffered a ridiculous amount of lag and saw that my memory usage was close to 98%. I cut all my open programs, other than the Task Manager, and only, it dropped to 80%. (is usually around 40-50% usage) With each program closed, the memory started increasing (1% about every five seconds) until I stop the laptop when he reached 94%.

Just before stopping, I noticed there were a couple of process in Task Manager which seemed to raise more than 1 100 000 K of memory, but I can't remember what programs they were. I will update if I find out what programs are those that have been, unless a solution is found first.
What processes would all suddenly eat upward of a lot of RAM?
    PC Info:
Samsung R580, over 3 years, recently replaced hard drive two months ago.
I don't know if this helps, but I got Vuze installed before shutdown and removed since the restart. It is the latest software that I had installed.
If you need additional information, feel free to ask. Thanks in advance!
Note: 1% every five seconds may not be remarkably fast, but given that it is generally stable and a much lower percentage, and considering also that I have little or no knowledge of the use of the RAM, it is extremely fast for me.

The problem is PC-specific and can be caused by viruses and malware.

Apple Mail only works when I restart in "safe" mode otherwise it becomes crazy, using all the CPU capacity without any correct output.  Seems to be connected with caches.  Any help?

Generally, if your Mac works correctly in Mode safe, but not normally, then you have a third-party software that runs at the start of the origin of the problem.

Safe mode disables most of the extensions of third-party startup and some Apple hardware, so it could be another problem for Apple, but I have never heard of your problem.
