Pavilion 17-g015dx: Add drive hard hp pavilion 17-g015dx
Hi all
Recently bought a Pavilion 17-g015dx for parents. I would like to add an additional ssd, but do not see the gates on the Sub unit. So, two questions:
1: anyone know if there is a slot for HDD 2.5 "extra in the Pavilion 17-g015dx?
2: how to you remove the 17-g015dx flag to physically access the hard drive connectors?
Thanks for the help!
Hello
(In the book), no option for 2 HARD drives. I know that Envy 17 (not the flag) machines have 2 slots. My old ready machine has 2 HDD and a cache of 24 GB. My computer of current loan is also an Envy 17 and he has 2 HARD drives (in fact a 256GB SSD and a 1 TB HARD drive).
Kind regards.

HP Pavilion dv6 - 6123cl: HP Pavilion dv6 - 6123cl - USB driver problems
Hi all
I tried to find a way to solve the problem I encounter without success, so I decided to join this community and hope that someone else came across something similar and has been able to solve.
I have two identical HP notebook computers (HP Pavilion dv6 - 6123cl) and both of these computers have exactly the same problem. After you have reinstalled Windows 7 for some reason any USB ports on the left side of the laptop are not recognized by Windows, leaving me with only 2 USB ports available. I downloaded and installed all the official drivers from the HP site but the problem remains still. Device Manager will not find the drivers and it drives me crazy because all the USB ports on both computers worked very well so far. What am I supposed to do?
Any help or suggestion is highly appreciated.
You are the very welcome.
Download and install both of these drivers and restart.
Do you need the SMBus Controller driver too?
If so, see if it works...

Pavilion g6-2002au: USB driver update failed
I did a periodic update of the system on the laptop drivers. The last time, I remember it was almost 2 years ago. And this time I encountered problems.
This topic follows my request on this thread about SafeMode start/restore after a driver update failed:
And as I said it I begam making one an update to pinpoint what caused the original problem with the bulk update. After 7 by an updated driver, I found the (or, at least) a cause of the problem. The following image, 2 PCI to USB host drivers caused an error message from windows after the update.
There are 6 USB drivers linked to this very old/aged list and clear terms the number of items of equipment installed on the laptop. See this screen shot of the Device Manager list:
Drivers USB 6 update, I have taken these 2 items to be updated first because 1) they seemed to be the oldest (replacements were dated in 2010), and 2) if I understand technology, these bits connect the processor to host chip and the actual hub bus.
I chose just these 2 PCI-drivers for update (unchecked the selection for all other boxes in the recall list) and proceeded. When the installation has ended a windows message box reported an error of windows to one of the devices (one, not declared or referenced by a number). Considering that the originals had worked for years without apparent problems, I started a process of restoration. It worked, and restored 'very old' pilots work again without any error boxes, while the most recent have not.
This is a screenshot of the restored Details of driver (work), which seem to be the original objects from Microsoft for XP3. Vista and windows 7
Any ideas why this (the driver update failure) happens?

There is no update from HP, the prograns you are using is not supported by HP.

Pavilion 11 n034TU: lost USB drive connection key
My phone loses connection to my USB STICK after a period of time (1 to 2 hours) and does recognize not all al. I can't restore the connection nor can I "eject safely device" even if I see the USB icon in the icons in the taskbar.
The only way I ch. one fix it is to remove the Flash DRIVE dangerously and reinsert it. I'm a bit concerned as I ofen use USB and open the files on it.
The problem is obvious before I upgraded to Windows 10 so I don't know what could be the cause of this.
Hi @kmad_05,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
It's a great place to find answers and advice!
You have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the HP Forums.
I understand that when you connect your USB that all works well for 1 to 2 hours, then the connection is lost and you do not have access to this more. If you disconnect (unsafely) and you reconnect then you still have access and it responds.
You had this problem before you upgrade to Windows 10.
Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the USB drivers?
If you USB drive is a hub, try to connect directly to the USB port on the laptop.
Please check this setting.
Go into the Device Manager and click on Bus USB controllers.
On the USB root hub, then right-click and choose Properties.
Click the power management tab.
If allow the computer to turn off this device to save power is checked please, uncheck it.
Repeat this step for all Central root additional USB listed.
Do you have all your updates including bios and chipset (as appropriate) before the upgrade?
Have you ran the Windows troubleshooting tool? Troubleshooting a USB connection
Have you checked for virus or malware? MS malware removal tool
