Pavilion 500 - 205t: new Blurays will not play, older Blurays will be. Why?

I bought your desktop of Windows 7 HP custom year last with a built-in Blu - Ray disc/drive. The player is CyberLink PowerDVD 10. A whole new movie bluray (2015) will not play because PowerDVD wants to update, but there is no update available through the recommended procedure. CyberLink said to check with HP.

My oldest blurays (2013 and older) work very well. I don't need fancy features, I just want to watch my new bluray on my computer. I'm guessing that there is a new coding on the blurays newer that it prevents play on an older player, but what are the options I have to solve this problem?

It is disappointing that less than a year after that HP gave me 10 PowerDVD pre-loaded, he won't play a new bluray. And on top of that, there is already a 15 PowerDVD! But I can't upgrade to that without buy download. I never had this problem reading DVD on my laptop XP with WinDVD for almost 10 years! WinDVD less at upgraded itself.

Hello

Have you applied this update from Cyberlink?

New codes for Blu - Ray, AACS are constantly updated and Support HP should be able to help with the updates if your PC is still under warranty.  If your PC is not covered by the warranty, then you need to update from Cyberlink.

You could try to update the HP Support Assistant and see if the Cyberlink updates are available.

    Try two things...

    (1) the songs greyed out can be unchecked. Uncheck the songs are normally excluded from track to track synchronization and normal. With the help of the songs or the list view Ctrl + click on an empty box to check all the boxes in the list of active reading.

  • Pavilion 500-449: monitor screen does not work with the new HP Pavilion 500-449

Not sure if 64-bit or 32-bit.  More HP vs 19 flat screen LCD monitor or new monitor LG Flatron E2242 will appear with new HP Paviion 500-449.  Both will be lit.  Monitor says HP VGA No. imput and goes to sleep.  LG monitor says it's to enter the mode, same thing, I guess that energy saving.  The two appear on older HP Pavilion a1430n.  Store support suggests the problem lies in the monitor menu options but they do not display with a try monitor.

Abandoned and reduced to store.  When they were scuffered too until they tried a second monitor in the back and noticed that it connected to a different place in the back!  Seems a converter is needed for old VGA monitors and then he plugs into a completely different place.  Originally, the husband plugged the power cord VGA of my screen instead of ONLY on the back, he could go, the marked spot VGA.  No, the converter is a big plug and can only fit above in a place with NO Label at all.  On top of that, everything IS there a converter plug supplied in the box with the computer, but there is absolutely NO mention of what to do with it, or where it goes.    I feel better that the store did not know that either; Clips by the way, where the young man was very nice.    He only discovered by accident because the store had two monitors with different plugs on the end.

Short Stort of long, if yours doesn't receive will check that plug that goes to the tower.  You may need a converter and it can even be provided.

  • HP Pavilion 500-319NA: new to < see below > graphics card

    Hello

I am new to the computer upgrades and know almost nothing about it, so please keep any simpler answer and understanding as possible.

My computer is the "HP Pavilion 500-319na".

It contains the graphics card "NVIDIA GeForce 705" (I think it's a 1 GB model)

There's a game coming out next year called Overwatch, this graphics card is unable to play the game, so I decided that I want to upgrade this Christmas.

The graphics card, I have drawn attention is the "ASUS 2 GB GeForce GTX 750 Ti.

    I have mainly two questions:

    • Is my computer compatible with this graphics card?
    • the Geforce 705 dosent require any kind of power, but one that I want (the GTX 750 it) seems to require a power adapter 6 pin or something.

If anyone could help with any of these things it would be wonderful.

    Thank you, Callie

You'll be glad you asked, you need to clarify some issues.

This is your computer.  There really a 180W external PSU?  Or is the power supply inside the box?  There were some variations in generation of HP model #.   If internal, envy is the coast?

Your computer has a 2.9 Ghz CPU... but Overwatch requires a 3.3 - 3, 46 Ghz CPU. That will slow down the game.

GTX660 (140W) is far superior to the GTX750Ti (60W), but power is a problem. AQgain, need you a new power supply, but it's an internal model.  See above question. !!!

You also have a problem of compatibility of the UEFI BIOS.  The GTX750Ti is OK, but the GTX 660 requires BIOS settings inherited.

Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because it is not possible to activate the analog copy on the output display protection. Try to install a driver available for your video card.

    Hi Giaour,

Which version of QuickTime is installed on your computer?

Apple Computer developed the QuickTime file format to create, edit, publish, and view multimedia files. QuickTime format can contain video, animation, graphics, 3D and virtual reality (VR) content. Only QuickTime files version 2.0 or earlier can be played in Windows Media Player. Later versions of QuickTime require the Apple QuickTime Player owner. For more information, visit the following Apple Web site:

  • Pavilion 500 - C60: new office reads, "ERROR: no boot disk was detected or the disc has failed" at startup.

Just bought Pavilion 500 - C60, running Windows 8.1 64-bit and am doing everything on old HP running Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2. Has not gone smoothly from one thing to another, but I think everything comes together. A couple of days, began to receive the error message at startup or, if I COULD do so that it starts would go for awhile and then would get an ERROR message, requiring restart. Usually after obtaining the error message several times, the computer would then initialize. Tonight, I couldn't override the error message for anything! When you press power button / stop, I hear (HD) running for a few seconds, everything is silent, and then the error message appears on the gray screen dark in white letters, BACK very and sinister looking! Any suggestions? Had the computer about two months and it has not been easy.

Not good!  Check all the connectors and the hard drive to make sure that they are correctly wired in place. Make sure that your cable is not reversed.

Contact the seller if still under warranty for repair.  This could be the hard drive or motherboard and the problem lies the only diagnosis from a repair facility.

  • HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15: New battery is not working

A few months ago, my laptop battery started draining to a low ability to singnificantly. I got the error message when you start saying that my battery capacity is low (error 601). I looked again and decided to simply hold out a little longer and use my battery current as much as possible when I saw a price tag of $70. However, he was eventually evacuated to a barely usable capacity, and I got a new battery (I order it from HP). This battery arrived today, and put in a little test and start-up my laptop, I was happy to see my laptop, the error message that he already given to jump.

I was very happy about that, until my charger slipped out of my laptop a bit and my laptop stops instantly. The battery did not work. It gives me, question of "plugged in, not charging, I googled new batteries does not and I tried the method of deleting things in Device Manager and reboot and that has not worked. Not to find alternatives to try everything first, I went in the diagnoses PC HP hardware such as start-up and tested my new battery. Surprise, surprise, it failed.

The ID of the failure was PU462W-71N7NB-MFPWXG-C0BE03. Product of my mobile number is D8X43UA #ABA. My global issues are that mean ID has failed and more important I arrived with a dead battery, or is it a hardware problem with my laptop? If it is just a dead battery (shame on you HP) where can I get a replacement?

In fact, the charger doesn't come out that easily. Just when I move my laptop around significantly. And there was no necessary repairs actually... the battery just decide to start working at random. Now all is well

  • HP Pavilion 550-055na: new disk will not install the new operating system

    Hello

I bought a new HP Pavilion 550 - 055na with Windows 8 a month or two ago but want to use Windows 7. However, I decided that I will keep the hard, the PC came with, and have the option of Windows 8 in future if I want. So, I'm installing Windows 7 on a new hard drive.

My problem is that the new copy of Windows 7 will not install on my new hard drive.  I get:

    Violation of secure boot

Invalid signature detected. See the policy in the configuration of secure boot

Then me to a black screen after I pressed Enter/Ok, who said the following.

Check the presence of the media...

    Media present...

    On IPv4 PXE boot.

If I press F12 on power on, I get a blue box asking me to select a boot device. The only options are:

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller IPv4

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller IPv6

and the output by using the arrow keys

How to change the secure boot strategy?  If I do, it means that I can install my 7 can I on my new hard drive? Also, providing that I do, I always will be able to use my Windows 8 OS drive after changing the secure boot strategy?

Any help would be appreciated to greately.

    Sincere greetings

    DJ

    Hello:

You have to enable the legacy mode and disable start-up secured in the BIOS to be able to install and run W7.

Please see this link to find out where these settings... this references adding a video card, but this is how you change the settings no matter why you need to change.

  • Pavilion 500-018: BD/DVD player not working not not on a pavilion of 500-018

    Hello

I have a 500-018 Pavilion on the Bluray/DVD driver no longer works. The drive is detected in the BIOS but Windows 8.1, I can't access the drive at all. The drive is listed as a BD - ROM drive.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it doesn't help.

I tried the diagnostic tool to sequentially play a DVD the disk and it says to insert a disc, even if there is already a disc inserted.

    Any suggestion?

    Thank you

    Gilbert

    Probably more likely.

The probability is the laser that scans disks disappeared, so unfortunately for you I think that you might have to buy a new optical drive.

  • HP Pavilion 500-242ea, new computer, but no sound!

Hi, just got my new HP Pavilion yesterday. I started it but surprisingly not his fate. What I have to install anything? Need a speaker? pls advice.

    You are the very welcome.

I don't know of any consumer Office PC which have an internal speaker.

Most of the business offices do, however.

All PC's have a little chip on them which will beep, but that's all it will do.

It won't play any voice or music.

  • Pavilion 550-138nc: new PC does not start

    Hi all

I just got a new 550-138nc PC Pavilion. When I turn it on I get the boot that device message is not found and that I should install the operating system on hard drive (3F0).

When I ran F2 system diagnostics, everything is OK mind no error message, but now I see only one disc. This machine should have 2 discs - 128 GB SSD and SATA 1 TB.

If I put myself in the BIOS that I see in storage - Device configuration as a disk and it is this 1 TB and a CD-ROM unit.

I also tried to use my old own Win 7 64 - bit installation DVD to start at least (that I don't have any DVD or USB key) However, I get the error message:

Secure Boot Violation - invalid signature detected. Visit the secure boot policy.

Could please give me a tip or help - what is the problem? Partition on the SSD drive? Will be the recovery of the aid of HP support (I just ordered what follows)? Or is the all go SSD?

    Thank you very much.

If the BIOS does not detect the SSD drive, then maybe a cable is unplugged.  Jump off the side panel to check if the wires of the card are in place or if the SSD is in a socket, see if it is placed correctly.

  • Pavilion 500 - 206t: Boot Manager does not appear in the sources of boot UEFI

I had a working system, until I installed Fedora on it...

I have since removed Fedora, but cannot get the windows partition to start for the life of me.

In the bios, I don't see "Microsoft boot manager" in the list of Sources of boot UEFI in the boot order.

I have the original, untouched windows 7 x 64 partition, the HP recovery partition and 10 windows partition, I recently did a clean install, but still no start.

I've deleted and recreated a 100 MB EFI partiton and a partion of 128 MB msr by using diskpart.

formatted fat32 EFI, left the msr as-is.

C:\Windows\Boot\EFI\ files on the EFI partition in \EFI\Windows\Boot

Creates the via bcdedit boot manager entries.

    I tried:

    1. Bootrec /fixboot
    2. Bootrec /fixmbr
    3. Bootrec /rebuildbcd

I also used boot bcd with uefi function to copy the files on

I used an installation disc USB win10 to the foregoing as a win7 disc does not have the USB drivers for the keyboard and the mouse.

Am I missing something for the HP Pavilion?

    Thanks in advance

    Repair of windows did nothing.

I created a ultimatebootcd USB drive (http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/) and used parted Magic/clonezilla in order to image the old windows and partitions of hp recovery (not the entire disk) to a USB external HDD (plugged into USB 2.0 port)

Then I deleted all partitions with parted magc.

Install win 7 on the system with no partitions, it's easier to reduce windows on partition of 100 MB, but you can adjust it later, also don't you bother with the product key, ignore her.

Restart the ultimate boot CD, choose parted Magic then Partition editor and create an important partition for windows = or superior to what it was when he was photographed. If your new installation of win 7 took the entire disk, simply to reduce the size of the partition and create the large partition to restore to, don't forget the restoration of 15 GB HP as well. If you don't see all the partitions or get an error in the score editor, see this link: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1619381

don't worry about formatting new partitions.

To restore, you will need to rename the image files on the external hard disk created in the second paragraph above. The partition names will be changed, see this link: http://drbl.org/faq/fine-print.php?path=./2_System/102_restore_image_to_different_partition.faq#102_restore_image_to_different_partition.faq

After the restoration, start windows installation disk and repair, it will be your old windows partition, restored. Save and reboot the old partition. If everything is successful, you can delete the newly installed partition win 7 and use msconfig in windows to delete startup entries. You can use parted magic to cultivate the restored partition, if you wish.

Then, install windows 10 to get a true EFI boot.
