Pavilion dv4 Laptop CPU Upgrade

can I put my processor and/or graphics in a hp pavilion dv4-1145go. I've heard that I can upgrade the processor. I'm looking to upgrade these pieces seamless, but I understand that the cpu has a normal socket, but to upgrade the graphics card I need a new PC mobo/all new.

Hello

You can upgrade the processor if you don't have the Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 - 2.0 GHz processor (Merom-MV, at 800 MHz front side bus, 2 MB cache level 2 total, taken Micro-FC-PGA, 35W TDP, 65nm) installed. It is the only listed in PartSurfer replacement processor. This means that it is very likely to be the only guarantee compatible processor.

A new motherboard is needed to improve the graphics.

Kind regards

ERICO

  • Pavilion dv4: Pavilion dv4 memory/RAM upgrade

I have a HP Pavilion dv4 (15-inch screen), still not sure of the model #. It's on WIndows 7 Home premium 64 - bit operating system with 4 g of RAM.

I'm looking to upgrade the RAM and wanted to know if someone knows the maximum I can develop in and also if there are 1 or 2 memory card slots? Any help would be appreciated. Ideally looking for make it if possible 8 GB or RAM.

The T6500 processor was used on the dv4-1000 series, so it's a pretty good indication that you're already in memory of max. The dv4-2000 used first processors Intel Core of gen.

The best acceleration on a legacy system as an SSD, but they are expensive for one with any ability. If you are really adventurous, you could theoretically install a Core 2 Duo processor much stronger as the T9600. It's a lot of hassle, though, and spend money like that on updates is not really economically advisable when you buy a new laptop in a year or less in any case inevitable. New models have just so much more to offer. USB 3.0, SATA-III, faster memory and processors, better battery life. It lights up.

  • G6-1262sa Pavilion: Pavilion g6-1262sa CPU upgrade v2, Sandy Bridge = > Ivy Bridge?

Hi, thanks to the Pavilion g6-1262sa maintenance and manual cleaning and this great forum, I recently discovered that replace my i3-2330 m is possible with all sandy bridge i7 2620m processors.

These questions may sound silly, but I continued my research and I have more ideas to confront reality as a couple.

I realize that the compatibility is not only matter of editing the same socket, but also of the bios installed on certain motherboard, however:

    1. do you think it would be possible to Exchange Sandy Bridge (2nd generation) i3 - 2330 m for some Ivy Bridge (3rd generation) i5-3210 m?

2 is the 32nm to 22nm manufacturing technology enough difference on its own (even if the rest of the architecture is the same) to prevent that to work?

3 is the bios from my card mother g6 identyfying somehow installed processor? (if this isn't on 'the list' it simply won't work? "or what technical compatibility issue?

According to some statements which I found it on some forums and sites (and a few facts documented free):

Socket: the two processors are compatible with BGA1023 decision-making. (at least that's what I found, if someone could confirm I would be grateful)

Difference of architecture: "The 3rd generation is called 'Ivy Bridge' and is essentially a copy of Sandy Bridge made on a smaller scale, or die." However, Intel also focused on beefing up of the onboard graphics in this generation. »

    TDP: both are 35 W

Carrots: both are 2 physical (Virtual 4 - thanks to hyperthreading I guess?)

Energy consumption: "Ivy Bridge CPUS also use less energy", "Ivy Bridge consumes less energy; around 10w, I think. »

    Temperature: i5-3210 m going 5 * C more - 2330 m - i3 shouldn't make much difference

Looking forward to some responses, RacA

It is not a technical incompatibility (socket) because as you probably know Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge are backward compatible on most motherboards desktop. However, HP has only implemented gen 2d, processor Intel Core compatibility of the HM65 Express chipset that you a. motherboards supporting 3rd gen processors use the HM77 chipset. There is no another motherboard that will fit in your frame.

Your analysis above, which was pretty good, left out the chipset, which you must always remember when assessing the possibilities of upgrade:

    http://www.CPU-upgrade.com/MB-Intel_%28chipsets%29/HM65_Express.html

The HM65 supports a couple 3rd gen processors, but none of them are on the list of HP for your model. You can try one of those shown in the link I gave, but I think that there is a small chance that they will work.

  • HP Pavilion Notebook dv6985se: CPU UPGRADE

Currently, this laptop has an Intel Core Duo TM2 (T5750 @2. 00 GHz.  System Board: Quanta 30CC 79.2(e).  The chipset is Intel GM965.  It has 4g of memory.   I am lucky to have a new processor Intel Core Duo T7800 2.6 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache, 800 MHz FSB Socket P tray/OEM Dual Core Mobile Processor.  My question is: this T7800 would be compatible with this motherboard? And it's easy to use replace?   I have surfed the net and can't find a definitive answer on this.  If this isn't the case, could someone tell me what is the reasonable maximum CPU upgrade that would allow this motherboard, keeping in mind from my diet?  Theoretically speaking thus?  I would be grateful for all comments.  Thank you.

You're stuck with this motherboard, or at least another of the same model series. When a laptop is designed, there is a very unique, unique motherboard also designed. Laptop motherboards are not industry standard interchangeable with anything else. If the upgrade to a more modern material means buying a different laptop, slapping not only in a better motherboard, processor, memory, as you can do it with a desktop computer.

I agree with @Paul_Tikkanen that T7800 CPU has a decent chance to work for you.

  • HP Pavilion dv4 laptop: Hp Pavilion dv4 cannot connect to the internet

Hello, some time ago my wifi collapsed plug into my laptop. I tried to restart in an earlier era, but nothing seemed to happen. I have looked at previous entries for the same problem and cannot yet set. The computer works fine otherwise.

    Plug. :

    HP Pavilion dv4 2009
    Pentium Dual-core processor 2.1 GHz

    4 GB of ram, 64-bit

    Windows 7

Also my Norton AutoFix program continues to attempt to run the repair of internet connectivity without success.

    THE SOLUTION I USED:
Back up everything that was important on the laptop on a flash drive.
    Factory reset it.
    Update windows and Hp downloads.
Œuvres spectacularly, immediately connected to the wifi.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about wanting to improve the processor of your laptop and wanted to help.

This link is for the maintenance and the Guide Service for your PC: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03939658

According to the list of the processors on page 25, you can make the swap.

The instructions for the disassembly and replacement of the processor begin on page 85 - but you should be aware that this requires almost completely disassemble the laptop, NOT something you have to try unless you are experienced in doing this kind of work.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.
