  • A boring song plays whenever I open a new tab

Hi, I have a problem where whenever I open a new tab in firefox a boring song is playing (for about 7 seconds) and I have no idea what is the cause, I looked through my plugins and I do not see those who would force the latter. Is there a way I can manually disable this? It is so annoying, I'm ready to move from browsers because of this, but I won't because I love firefox!

Do you use the page new tab with tiles?

I guess that if: you've certainly visited before a Web site with a song that is played automatically. This site is registered under the most visited and it is displayed as a tile on the page tab.

Website tiles are preloaded as a classic site in a tab, so if there is music, you listen to this music.

To correct this, several ways (the first is the more "non-destructive"):

    • Open each site on your new tab page until you find the 'guilty' tile, then click the small cross at the top right of the tile
    • Hide the tiles on your page in new tab
    • Clear recent history

My home page is google, and my browser is mozilla. But whenever I open a new tab in the browser becomes yandex.ru. I can't find where to eliminate.

You have installed perhaps inadvertently some software of malware that is the cause. If it is not clearly listed in your Firefox Add - ons, you may need to change your preferences and find and remove the software. The software problem can be listed as a program in your list of Vista operating system and it can be easy to uninstall or it may be more problematic.

  • I can longer open a new tab in firefox

I can't open a new tab in firefox. If I click on a link, a new tab opens, but if I use the new tab button or control t that nothing happens. I used to be able to open several tabs, but suddenly, that changed. Can you my why?

Your user agent string (identifies the version of Firefox) is "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows;" U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; (RV:1.9.2.15) gecko/20110303 AskTbBCPA/3.11.3.15590 Firefox/3.6.15.

The AskTbBCPA/3.11.3.15590 indicates the toolbar Ask has been installed.

Check the control panel Windows for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4

  • Unwanted page appears when I open a new tab in an existing window.

When I open Firefox, it opens to Google, which is my preferred homepage. I set Google as my search engine preferred on the Firefox toolbar. However, whenever I open a tab in the existing window, it opens to the unwanted Bing. How can I configure Firefox to open new tabs open in the existing window to Google.
I'm not tech savvy, so I would appreciate a response which takes into account.
    Thank you.

The new tab page can be changed by a commissioning or use of an extension cord. We will try the setting first, then if necessary, check the extensions.

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter your favorite page:

    • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
    • Blank tab = > subject: empty
    • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
    • Any other page = > full URL of the page

Press Ctrl + t to open a new tab and check that it worked. Fixed?

Three things to look out for:

    • If Firefox will save any modification of this parameter, you can have a program called search protect you need to uninstall through Control Panel, add/remove programs.
    • If Firefox ignores the setting, one of your extensions may be substitution of her. Please, open the page modules, Extensions section and take a critical look at what is there. To a first approximation, try disabling everything will not be in the next 24 hours. You can open the page using either of the following, and then click on "Extensions" in the left column:

      • CTRL + SHIFT + a
      • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
    • If the modification works for the rest of your session, but at the next start is return empty, you might have a user.js file in your personal settings Firefox (your Firefox profile folder). This article describes how to track down and delete the file: How to fix preferences that will not save. Some utility programs as Advanced SystemCare have a feature to restore your settings to a previous state between sessions ("surf Protection"). Another thing to check is if you keep losing your settings changes.
