Pavilion DV7 4272us Graphics upgrade

Hello all I was wondering if it was possible to update the graphics card for my laptop. I currently have the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6370.

Hello:

I agree in principle with BBot, however technically, you can improve the graphics if you want to go through the expense and the Exchange on the motherboard work together.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02642701.PDF

Please see Chapter 3, beginning on page 22. You could opt to change your current motherboard for the one with the HD 6550 graphics, with or without subwoofer, as the case may be.

You are looking for an amount of $438 to swap the card + your work.

IMO, you'd better sell your laptop and using the product buy one with the graphic solution you are looking for.

It is really not an option. The video is part of the motherboard, welded, so there is nothing to go out and trade for something else. You might be able to find a motherboard with slightly better graphics, but it would still be old and weak by today's standards.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 / LM00EA #UUW: upgrade of the possible SSD for my Pavilion dv7?

    Hello

I want to upgrade my computers hardrive portable SSD-Drive. It says on my laptop service guide that only intel based model supports on the ssd drive. However, my flag has AMD Turion. Anyone would confirm, weather, I can upgrade the HDD-> SSD?

In addition, if the upgrade is possible, can I install the current HARD disk drive in the second location on hard disk? If so, are there needed additional cables/adapters.

I tried to find this info on the HP partsurfer, but no luck.

    Any help much appreciated...

    Hello

Much better now. The following link shows the specifications of your machine:

It's a HP Pavilion dv7-6010eo. Currently it has 500 GB SATA (7200 RPM), you can switch to the SSD. You can also put a second HDD of your machine, but you need to caddy and connector. Please visit the following link:

Hello Rascal, apparently, your system may be a little old to run any recent video games.

Here a link to the plug on the motherboard, and it shows the system comes with 512 MB of system memory and a maximum of 1 GB of system memory.

It also has a video feature embedded VIA with 64 MB of video card memory. It has a slot machine video AGP.

Carpet is it possible to upgrade the video card AGP, but I doubt you'd see much improved performance.

    Just some thoughts.

Others, including a touch screen has not been tested and the result is unknown.  When I did some research, I determined that a touchscreen requires a different connection type and your motherboard doesn't support more likely.

  • HP Pavilion 500-326na: graphics upgrade on HP Pavilion 500-326na card

Last year, I bought a HP Pavilion 500-326na, and recently, I decided that I would update the graphics card. The card that I'm looking is the nVidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti. This would be consistent with (and in the form of) my computer? In addition, I'm not sure exactly how I had to upgrade my power supply, if necessary, and if you can direct me to a decent choice.

    Thank you very much.

    SJ642, welcome to the forum.

According to the Specifications of the product , the computer has an external power supply 180W (PSU).  If this is the case, you won't be able to level the video card.  The 750ti requires a power supply of at least 300 w; Some reported that 400W is needed to make it work properly.

  • HP Pavilion g7 - 2233cl: graphic upgrade on a g7

Hello, I recently had Fallout 4 and with all the settings that are turned down and Amd settings implemented, there is still enough lag and slow to play. Is there something to do to improve performance and I read on external graphics cards. Is there one who would work with G7 Pavilion?

OK good point. You have an A8 - 4500M that has a video AMD 7640 G included in the APU. You could install a 10 - 4600M gives you an AMD 7660 G graphics card. You would get a little better performance:

    http://www.game-debate.com/GPU/index.php?gid=1024&gid2=1000&compare=Radeon-HD-7640g-vs-Radeon-HD-7660g

It run better if there is memory in dual channel mode.

If you grabbed me and there is a possibility, but not a great. We'll find the A10 - 4600M for maybe $ 50 eBay and so on. If you are a mobile computer tech and can do the upgrade of processor I think that for $50, it may be worth. If you pay someone to do it and it costs more expensive like $150-200, not worth it.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-4272us: win 10 rejects my key

I bought my dv7, the original owner, recorded with HP, with win7 preinstalled. Updated win10 to flash for a clean install. Cannot activate, key invalid - why? I have no idea!

    error 0x803F7001

Found using key ShowKeyPlus. Cut out and glued in activation - same error.

I have the OEM installation disks and a backup set later.

HP can give me an acceptable key (after all, I have a record with them)?

It would do no good to re - install win7 and upgrade to 10 again? Seems I would be facing the same issue would I?

HP Support page was unnecessary. Could not find anything to address this issue, including a person.

Find the reference to ShowKeyPlus here in this forum. But win10 would not accept the key, with which he came.

    Help, please!

    Bill

Yes that's correct... If you double-click the file to install it on the flash drive, you can upgrade from the windows 7 desktop environment using the USB.  You need to update from the windows desktop so that the upgrade work.

I never do that.  I do a DVD and let it autorun from the windows desktop.

The free update expired last night at midnight, Pacific daylight time.

You have W10 installed and activated at this time here.

Another Member of the forum posted this info about always being able to get the free update...

  • DV7 - 3165ev: HP Pavilion dv7 - 3165ev change/Upgrade CPU

I saw in the manual series DV7 cpu i7 support, but not for specific models like dv7 - 3165ev.

My goal is to replace the i5 m430 with an i7-720QM or 820QM i7, as they seem to be compatible with my model.

Is there a limitation of BIOS and the system board that these CPU may not work?

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

This manual seems to relate only to the Quad Core models. Other similar models of dv7 motherboard is different for the dual core and quad core so models before trying to upgrade the processor, I would check the motherboard model number that is generally printed inside the memory compartment.

It must be 575477-001 if the Quad Core processors are at work.

IM planning on upgrading my ram to 8 GB which is the maximum taken in charge and I was wondering what graphics card if they are taken in charge as well I know that the amd a8 is an apu so he manages both, but it does not take away from the total power of the processor during the handling of graphics so idk know that thereon the amd apu so correct me If im wrong would not be a graphics card to free up processing power?

Sorry for the grammatical errors in advance its 2 am and I just work so im a zombie

    Hello

For the graphics, you cannot pass without a new motherboard and some other parts. For a budget machine, it is more than the af a better cost new machine.

  • Pavilion dv7-6b51ea graphics controller does not properly on Windows 8

    Hello

Since I upgraded to Win7 for Win8 I all right, except that I can't play some games (for example Alan Wake). The graphics are ok on all the cutscenes, but in a kind of negative colors during the game.

I already tried to uninstall and install the back card (not physically). Also, I tried to update the driver, that does not work either.

Do you have someone had the same problem and was able to remedy?

    Thank you!

Alan Wake was working properly in Windows 7?

How the device has been upgraded to Windows 8?  Was it a new installation or an upgrade on the spot?

It seems that the system can have switchable graphics with Intel and AMD.  Was this the driver you have installed?  You mentioned that it didn't work.  He did install the driver correctly and the problem persists or not installing driver fail?

  • HP Pavilion dv7 1199ev RAM UPGRADE

Hi I have 4 GB of ram, and I would like to know if I could upgrade to more memory ram or even higher MHz ram.

You could list me some options?

    Thanks in advance

Yes, you can upgrade to 8 GB, but it is very very expensive.

    Crucial page for DV7 - 1199ev

You can use memory DDR2-800 also known as PC2-6400, 8 concerts which will be around $400US.

I can't imagine what you're doing with your laptop where 8 gigs will do something for you that will not 4.
