Carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-820 s do not read or burn discs
Hi, I'm Natalie and I need help with my problem that occurs.
Operating system:
Windows XP Home Edition
Laptop Toshiba Satellite
Model A75-S229
Multi recorder drive: CD and DVDThe problem that happens is that I can not get any CD or DVD to work when I put them. What is happening is he's trying to load but makes the window "Not responding", unless I have the disc, then everything will be fine. What is also involved, is that I can't burn discs at all, at any speed.
Also, I would add, when I go to my computer > right click on the DVD - RAM drive > properties and under the general tab it states:
Type: CD player
file system: unknownI don't know if that's the problem...
Can someone help me?
HI Isabelle.
Please check in the Device Manager to see if there is a problem with your optical drive. Normally this will be displayed as an exclamation point against the device.
The fact that the file system is listed as "unknown" is because the drive could not read the format of the disc so that Windors Explorer cannot identify any file structure.
Your problem could be something very simple like a lens dirty or a faulty device driver. It is not easy to tell from your description exactly what can be wrong, but I would say you try some of the easy options so try first to clean the lens, and if this does not resolve your problem, then try to remove the drive (Device Manager) and reboot for the device will be installed new.
If all else fails, you will have checked player be an authorized Service partner.
Kind regards

Satellite A60-302: CD Player read DVDs and CDs but not burned discs
I have a Toshiba laptop: Satellite A60-302 and I have a problem with the cd player. It can read DVDs and records I buy but it will not read burned discs (even the ones I burned with the portable computers own burner). Only from time to time, he will read a burned disc.
I tried to clean the eye of laser of cd players, but it did not help.Anyone know what could be the problem?
Hello
This sounds like the CD burner doesn't burn CD correctly.
You suggested that you used different types of CD.
In the user manual, you will find a list of compatible media.
These media has been tested and it works correctly. But if this happens with all CD, so possibly the drive cannot work properly and only a replacement would solve that problem.

I've worked really hard put some photo togeather and videos family to make a movie.

Thank you for your response.
For the first question, I twostate completed video. The link below is for encoding and the answers to the other questions. Please let me know if this becomes the resolution or still have problems.
To work around this problem, encode the video file again by using the Windows Media Encoder. For the Windows Media Encoder, see the Microsoft Web site at the following address:
http://www.Microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/encoder/default.mspx (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/encoder/default.mspx)After the file has been encoded again, the file can be edited and published in Movie Maker.
Note When you encode the file again, use the same settings that you used for the original file. Also, make sure that the resolution of the encoded file output corresponds to the resolution of the source file. If you resize the screen capture video, the output video may become difficult to see. Hello
You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burn
and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
do it right.CD have a tolerance + - and you can read on the edge outside their tolerance. They
may be released but it is usually more economical to replace the disk.Several good info here:
http://Club.myce.com/Notes on the troubleshooting and repair of readers of compact disks and CD-ROM Drives
http://www.repairfaq.org/repair/F_cdfaq7.html#CDFAQ_014-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Try this troubleshooting:
Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

How can I burn on dvd iMovie projects?
I've mastered the art of making videos using iMovie, but I can't understand how the engraved on a dvd that will play in any dvd player. I tried to do some research to understand this point, but most of the answers I've found are for two years. I need a current response to help me. It seems that iDVD is the way to go, but it is not offered and more. I've tried different converters video will no chance. Once I got one to work and burned on dvd, but then it wouldn't play on anything other than my Macbook. Please help me! I just made a video birthday for my son who just turned one, and I need it to be on dvd. Can someone help me?
Buy iDVD.
Yes, there are other programs that will put a movie on a DVD. I tried most of the other substitutes. None of them come anywhere close to the ease of use and power of iDVD. IDVD is specifically designed to work with iMovie.
With iDVD, you can easily and quickly create DVDs with menus and graphics almost on the level of what Hollywood can do.
IDVD is easy to obtain. It is available on the disc as part of iLife 11. You can, but it on Amazon or ebay.
IDVD is a wonderful piece of software, and is worth the modest sum of $40. (works with all Mac OS 10.5 and newer.)

Satellite C655 - easiest way to burn a DVD
Hello
I've never had a laptop before. Also new to windows 7. Try to find the easiest way to burn a DVD from another DVD on this new laptop computer. I know I put the info from the DVD on the laptop. And then burn it to a blank DVD. I can put the DVD in the drive. It's a great start! I'm looking for the easiest way to "rip" and burn. Even if you need to download burning software (I hope it's free). On my desktop CD burner, it was quite easy to burn to a CD to another CD. 2 trays and software to burn. I know that it is more complex. I'm a little computer in question, btw. Thanks :)
Hi lili60,
Most of the DVDs and CDs you can buy is copy protected so I doubt you will be able to copy them. Usually, you can copy only the records of friends private photos, music, etc. but regular discs are protected against copying.
To burn discs, you can use the freeware CD Burner XP tool. This s really nice tool that provide all the functions necessary to burn discs. You can download the tool here:
http://CDBurnerXP.se/On the same page you can also find assistance online, how the program works.
If you have any other questions, please let us know! :)

Qosmio F60 - how to burn a DVD?
Hi all
I recently purchased a Qosmio F60 as my first laptop and I am trying to burn a DVD. What is the normal burning time?I am a total newbie to DVD burning (this is my first attempt) and I'm trying to burn a movie that I recorded on my desktop which is 53 minutes in length. I inserted the blank DVD in the drive and click "burn" and so far, it took 1 hour and 30 minutes, and it's only 27% full. Does this sound right?
All the basic information, tips, advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Remember, I am a total newbie and need basic instructions!
Thanks in advance.
Hey Buddy,
The combustion speed is depending on the DVD player, burning speed and the data you burn. But 1 hour 30 minutes is too long, even you burn a DVD with 4, 7 GB of capacity with low burning speed.
What program you use for burning discs? I recommend Nero or CDBurnerXP freeware tool.
Also try different media, not all are compatible with all the drivers. I have good experiences with DVD-R from Verbatim and TDK discs. -
Satellite P20: How to burn a DVD?
When I try to burn a DVD it tells me to insert a blank DVD. When I put a DVD - RW in it still dose not recognize. I can read the DVD burn cant just ok
hope someone can helpHi Pete,.
You don't say exactly what P20 model you have but I think that they were shipped with a DVD burner able to burn-r and RW discs. If you try to burn a RW - then he will have to get in shape first.
I'm not sure what you use a burning software, but there should be an option to format a RW disc before using it.
It is also interesting to note that some readers are very picky on the who do the blank media you are using you may need to experiment a bit to find a suitable brand to use. It is worth noting that some of the cheaper brands might be more effective than brands 'name '. Personally, I use "Datawrite" discs with no problems in a mat * player.
Try to burn a - R and not a RW - as a first test to ensure that the optical drive is working properly.
Kind regards

M30X MultiDrive won't burn a DVD from Windows Movie Maker
Hello
My MultiDrive M30x will not burn the DVD from Windows Movie Maker and other applications.
I also had problems with burning CDs (unbranded) of Windows XP, built in utility.
The multidrive has problems with cheaper brand discs?
Just to note,
The laptop was to support guys three times until various issues.
(1) the hard drive failed.
(2) the multidrive has failed.
(3) the motherboard replaced, due to power outages, it would not charge the battery, or recognize that the AC adapter is plugged.Note: The hard drive, not the fan made the most noise in mine!
Thank you
Hello
As far as I know (i.e. pre-installed burning software Save now, drag-and - drop) disabled the option of Windows XP burning. In this case if you want to use the Movie Maker or Windows media player burning option, you need to activate this possibility.
Please, go to the properties of the drivers (right click). Please select the recording tab. CD recording option on this drive must be marked.
I use the software Nero burning and in my opinion he of one of the best burning programs. In addition, you should try different manufacturers CD/DVD because some CD and DVD is not compatible with some readers. Check the TDK CD and DVD. I never had no problem with these media.Best regards
