Pavilion dv7... How to block programs requesting access to the computer (updater.exe)

The HP firewall intervenes and asks if I want to accept or deny programs requesting access to the laptop... it's good... but a Trojan horse (updater.exe) after I deny access, comes back every 15 minutes... 5 or 6 active applications if ignored... tired to prohibit access... is there a way HP firewall can be programmed to block these requests of programs known as this malware... thx dudman13

Hi Dudley,

This can help identify which application has generated this message.

Start Notepad and let Windows load completely.  Hold down the Windows key and press R.  For the run box, type msconfig and press ENTER.  In the next window, click the Startup tab, uncheck the box next to each startup item and then click on apply to apply the change.  Reboot the laptop and let it run long enough to see if the message no longer appears.  Reactivate a substantive point both (your security software would be a good first choice), click on apply and restart, then check if the message now.  Keep doing this until you encounter the message following if poster again and you will know that the last program that you define to start is the cause.

I would like to know what program it is.

Kind regards

    Try this:

    • Go to Device Manager
    • The probe should appear under the biometrics
    • Uninstall the device and then select the check box to remove the driver
    • Click Scan for hardware changes and it may appear again, but with another driver
    • Repeat step 3 until you can not uninstall and remove driver - Mine ended up being "Synaptics PS sensors (WBF) (PID = 003f).

  • HP pavilion dv7-6b55dx - line quarter inch Horizontal gray in the middle of the screen

Recently bought a HP pavilion dv7-6b55dx notebook from Best Buy.  Recently, the screen started to have a quarter inch gray horizontal line in the middle of it.  Gray line has more grey lines inside.  6 month warranty just expired.  Y at - it 'easy' for this solution or the screen is just broken?

It is usually the screen.  LaptopScreen.com has replacements for usually less then $60, which includes shipping. To be sure that it is the screen, connect an external monitor and make sure that there is no grey lines on the external monitor.  If there is, then it is assumed the video chip. Move fourth screen of the laptop and see if the lines disappear.  If they do, then it is the cable from the motherboard to the screen.

  • Y at - it defined an option to require a password to validate a program to download on the computer?

Hello! I use a Vista Home Premium desktop computer.

Before that I introduce the question, the reason why I ask...

The home computer is for the whole family to use. I have a mother who uses the computer to play some online games and downloads often these free trial games. Now, I am not satisfied because she goes around download everything without any knowledge on this Publisher, he could be. I am still lucky that the computer works fabulously. I have my own theories on computers, and I don't like running multiple user accounts on the computer because I think it compromises the speed and performance of the computer. My family is so on account of an administrator, with no password set. Which brings me to my question...

Y at - it defined an option to require a password to validate a program to download on the computer?

To answer your first question: No.
If there is that one account is an administrator account, and everyone can connect (no password), then everyone is a Director. Everyone can do this as it darn well pleases.

Not only you, ' theory little "are mistaken, he invites possible irreversible disaster. If your account is ONLY infected or damaged and you will not be able to access the computer, YOU'RE COOKED.
Not only to use the standard account for everyday computing, you should have 2 admin accounts in case one of them is infested and locked.
It comes to your computer. Your call.

Original title: problems of residential group after system recovery

I started a homegroup on my computer.  I added another computer to the homegroup.  Everything worked fine until I had to perform a system recovery on the laptop that I used to start the homegroup.  I implemented the homegroup again, but I can't access the files on the other computer via Windows Media Player.  I get an error message that says "Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file may be in use, you won't have access to the computer on which the file is stored, or your proxy settings are may not be incorrect. "I can access all the music files via Windows Explorer.  I have to start over with a new password?  Can I just create a new homegroup?  What other options do I have?  You can provide any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

  • Pavilion DV7: How to make windows 10 talk to external monitor?

    I changed my Pavilion DV7 (product # ww185av) from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

Since then, the laptop appears on my external monitor (HP x 2511).

    The screen remains black.

Laptop computer connection and monitor worked very well just before the switch.

If I P-window and choose "duplicate", the laptop tells me that I don't have the optimal resolution and it changes the screen resolution of mobile, but the external monitor stays black.  Somehow, I found once a "detection" option to get another monitor, but windows cannot find a second monitor. I tried to re-allocation of places the connection htmi several times.

I suspect the video driver, because my laptop wonder is no longer on whether I want to change GPU when I plug/unplug power supply.  I suspect that it is running low power GPU, and he never liked talking to the screen when executing that GPU.  But I have not found a panel that allows me to spend.   My video drivers are updated according to windows and hp advisor software.  Some HP site says that HP does not support windows on machines more than 10 2 years, one of which is mine.

Any thoughts on how to get the laptop to talk to the screen?  Should I just go back to Windows 7?

The expert event is over, no one offers a 'plan B', and my Windows 10 grace period is exhausted.

I came back to Windows 7 and my monitor works fine again.

  • IOM: Manager request access to the subordinate

I have a requirement that managers should be able to request access to resources for their subordinates. OOTB, users can only free resources request and admin can provide resources to others. I can think of a way

All managers is part of a group of IOM.
Give the necessary menu group and permissions to "grant" resource.

I hope that the details of resource objects can be filled by the same manager in this case, because it must be mapped to process details. I don't know how I'm going to add all managers to one group well IOM and with change management, this does not sound like a great way to go about it. In addition, Manager must be "ideally" able to request access to only his subordinates, what will not happen to the approach described above.

Is there a way to do this? Please let me know

    Thank you.

Here are three slightly different approaches which require too much customization -
    1. instead of create a new jsp just modify the jsp (tjspRequestVerificationTiles.jsp I think) "not allowing users to submit the application for other users. Therefore, write a few lines of code to check that the user is infact the Manager. In this approach, managers will be able to see all the users can choose their but will finally be rejected to create a request.
    2. create an approval workflow where if someone else (other than User Manager) has requested approval will go to the User Manager. In this approach eventhough other managers are able to ask of other subordinates, but the resource will not be put into service without the approval of actual carriers.
    3. create an approval workflow where if someone else (other then User Manager) asked, while the application is dismissed. So even if an unauthorized user has asked for one, but this request will not go anywhere. You can also send a notification to the user you attempted an unauthorized application.
