Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I wish I had some good news for you, but I did not...

According to the product page for your PC, it came with Win8 or Win7 preinstalled.  Of course, you have chosen to do the upgrade to Win10, and you should check the HP site for the drivers BEFORE you made this upgrade - that there are no drivers for your laptop Win10.

A critical factor for the performance of the game is the presence of the video drivers to the right, and given that HP does not have for the OS version you have installed, you will never get good performance of Win10 game on your laptop.

If you want to improve performance, you need video drivers HP - and for that, you need to restore your PC to its original version of the OS.

While Microsoft says there is no risk in the upgrade of Win10, because they allow you to believe that you can always return to your BONES and the original installation program within 30 days, the ugly fact of the matter is that the Win10 GoBack feature turned out to be unreliable - and when she fails, she can let machines in a State corrupted - that does not always happen , but it happens often enough to be a problem and you will get no warning beforehand that he goes to the trash your PC!

If this is not enough, the Win10 upgrade is known, in some cases, corrupt partition recovery stored by the OEM that built the original machine. It's pretty much guarantee that no HP recovery will work: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Recovery-Manager-Blocked-After-Windows-10-Upgrade/td-p/5170752

So, basically, the ONLY way you can restore the laptop now is something known as HP recovery media - which reformats the hard drive and erase everything on it.

    Hello

    You are welcome

Create new installation media is a good idea.

My usual environment in Rufus to install 10 Windows on a gpt disk's MBR for UEFI - FAT32 computers.

Also, I would definetely make sure you insert the flash drive, when the machine is turned on then it off via the power button - press and hold for 15 seconds just to make sure that the machine is power off.

Tap next to the ESC key as soon as you turn on and then go to boot (f9) from there Manager.

Note:  If it still does not work, enter the menu of the bios (f10) and look for a setting that emulates usb 2.0 in the Pre-os environment.

    Hello

I tried to update my laptop Win8 to Win10, but before that Win 8 must be upgraded to Win8.1 then Win10. Unfortunately, I encountered the problem after you install the free upgrade to WIn10.

I decided to use the system recovery and the source is from my USB.  (I created the USB key recovery).  The restoration was completed and started making configuration suddenly my laptop just because of the excessive heat caused my laptop stop does not complete the installation of windows 8 and finished to get the dialog box of "Windows Installer".

I inserted the USB key, but it seems that its not reading. I tried F2 - mode of the system, but it only shows the Bios and other tests not the usual display of F2.  I haven't tried F11 and same thing no chance.

My question is, how do I make my laptop back to the operating mode as the way to reinstall the entire operating system and HP Recovery Manager or HP configurations.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum.

Nowadays, most (if not all) laptops do not come with recovery media (CD/DVD, etc...)

Computers are equipped with discs hard (or SSD) that contains the two operating system (primary partition) and hidden recovery partition. Users can boot from these recovery (instead of primary) partitions and restore the default settings (for example in the infection by the virus or if corruption of Windows).  The user can also use the built-in software and can make a backup of recovery (on DVD or USB key). Here is just one example of how this can be done:

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=bfn1IGP-TWC

Unfortunately, as you install another operating system (Linux-based) and that you have formatted the drive HARD/partitions, these partitions of recovery very probably are no longer present. In this case, you can take the path of the long (er). You need to buy HP recovery for your computer media.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03833718

Please, contact the nearest HP Office-> http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

and ask the agent (via call phone/chat/email) to guide the recovery disc for your computer purchase. They are generally cheap and arrive quickly on.

Once you receive a recovery media (DVD), follow these instructions to recover your machine with Windows 8:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03489643

    Choose->

Grab your laptop of HP-> restore recovery disks

  • G6 2255 ev Pavilion: drivers for windows 10

    Hello
    I recently bought an SSD.
so, I want to put windows from the start and I need all the RIGHT drivers for my laptop.
I don't want to put bad drivers and will need to unistall them later.
So I need the drivers for my laptop, 10 64-bit windows.
could you tell me the exact drivers I need?
the basic only... to work correctly!
    Thank you for your time.
also, I would like to know the thickness of my dvd player, so I can buy a shopping cart of DVDs to my hard drive.
    Thank you once again!

HP only provides drivers Windows 8 and 8.1 of Windows for your model. However, I have an older G6 Pavilion provided with Windows 7 installed, and I did it with success a clean install of Windows 10 on it. Since your computer was made for Windows 8, I assume that the upgrade process would be smoother for you.

A little tip: I recommend that you have a wired Internet access available to your computer during the installation process so that Windows can download the drivers for your computer. I tried without a connected network cable, and I found myself with no Internet capacity after installation. I had to do another clean installation with a connected network cable, and this time the installer found all the correct drivers: map Wi - Fi button, graphic, touchpad, webcam, reader of cards, all. I didn't have to install anything manually.

I can't advise you on the caddy HARD drive for your DVD burner, but I've seen messages on the subject in these discussion forums. I did replace my HARD original with an SSD drive.

You can look at my profile and read my other posts for questions, I met with my BIOS. I hope that you will not face this problem because your machine is more recent.

    Good luck!

I know there must be. someone please help, I just spent 600 on this printer!

    Hello

The original CD was made before Windows 10 release and it is not intended for the operating system.

Follow the HP printer Assistant facility below to get the latest version of the printer software:

    Brand: HP
    Type: laptop

    512 MB DDR1 RAM
    Thank you very much!

    Hi Dominic,

Are you able to get into BIOS to make changes?

If so, you can try to reset the default settings of the BIOS and check.

NOTE: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

You can also try to remove all external usb devices that can be connected to the system and start-up and see if the system boots.

  • Windows Installer during the boot

Whenever I start my laptop, I get a message saying "Windows Installer - preparing to install.  He then proceeds to install the so-called TrayApp because the next message I get will say "Please wait while Windows configures TrayApp".  If I do nothing, he just keeps restarting and never goes beyond this point.  If I cancel, he tried the same thing with the following: C4580 HP product Assistant, MarketResearch, HP Photosmart Essential and then status.

Cancellation of each of them does not solve the problem because it will start all over.  Then after that I canceled for about 3 minutes, it stops.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 running Windows Vista SP 2.

    Dave1313,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

This looks like an application custom HP who keeps trying to install it, but never finished, so he keeps trying every time you start.  It could have bad install due to your security software or settings, or the installation file could be corrupted.  You can try to understand why it is not install and help to complete the installation, or you can just stop it trying to install.

To stop it trying to install:
To start the configuration system (msconfig) utility:
Click Start and type msconfig in the box start the search.
In the section programs, click Msconfig.exe.
On the Startup tab, you will find the application that keeps trying to start and uncheck the box next to it.  It comes out the startup so it will run each time Windows starts.

Trying to find out what is now moved, perform a clean boot:

    • In Normal Mode Windows Vista will not respond to the system restore or the Add/Remove programs - without success

    Hello

I upgraded my HP Pavilion 500-267c windows 7 Home premium 64-bit windows 7 Professional 32-bit.  I need all drivers of base.  I couldn't find anywhere for HP pavilion 500-267C windows 7 32 bit prof.  Help, please!

Drivers for Ethernet controller network controller, device PCI Simple controller PCI Communications, audio, graphics, etc.

Your help is greatly appreciated... Thank you in advance...

    Daniel.

    Hi, Daniel:

There is no 32-bit support for your model.

You have to experiment with the drivers of business models and of drivers from the Internet sites of the Lim component material.

You can try these for starters:

1 chipset driver. First, install and restart.

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y&ProdId=816&DwnldID=20775&keyword=chipset+installation+utility&lang=eng

    2 the graphics driver.

    3. audio. This one, I'm not sure, and you never have the audio to work (try to update the Device Manager and the Auto search box once you can connect to the internet).

Network: Download and install the driver for the second on the list.

  • laptop HP pavilion g6, with Windows 7 home basic 64-bit

In 2012, I bought a pc hp laptop pavilion g6, with Windows 7 home basic 64-bit in Saudi Arabia. I found 2 months that I did after I bought it reinstall drive does not work please help me

    Hello

    Here are a few options.

    1. you can order a set of replacement of the recovery media using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 you can use the following method to create your own family Windows 7 Edition installation disk basic 64-bit.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC. However, it not there no download directly available for Windows 7 Home Basic Edition, so you'll need to download another version (one will do, but the link below is for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - the source is Digital River).

    Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit

For the key on your label of COA to work, you must now use the method described in the following link to convert this ISO to an all-version Installer.

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/85813-Windows-7-universal-installation-disc-create.html

Once that is done, use an application like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

You may need for your laptop, software and additional pilots are in entering either the complete model number or product of your g6 series no here.

    Best regards
