Pavilion g6-2123us: failures of Touchpad. Material?

I am running Windows 8.1 on a g6-2123us Pavilion I bought in 2012.  For some time now, I had a few annoying problems with my touchpad.  Occasionally, that it simply closed.  And it was made more common as time goes on.  When these events occur, the entire touchpad does not, including the power button, as if the unit had been simply unplugged.  I tried a variety of things to fix including uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers several times using the drivers from HP Web sites both Synaptics.  I went to the 'mouse' in the Panel and used fitness devices to zero that worked very well.  A few times, just put the computer to sleep for a short period of time, too, will do the job.  However, as time goes on, these things work less.  Could this be just a problem of internal material with a loose connection?  Alternatively, just too tired device?  If one, can it be fixed?

Once again, I've replaced and updated the drivers several times, so I know that option won't work.

Thanks for the help

Hi @rschwarze,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read on your HP Pavilion g6-2123us Notebook PC and having problems with the Touchpad, click on the button not work properly or freezing. Here is a link to troubleshoot the Touchpad. If you go to the section on the score setting TouchPad and ClickPad sensitivities should help solve the problem.

Please let me know how it goes.

Thank you.

  • The Pavilion g6-2123us left hinge pulling the bezel!

Hello. My daughter about 2-3 years-old HP Pavilion g6-2123us has a problem with the left hinge. The support is pulling loose from the lower left corner of the lcd screen and the cracking of the collar. Did some research, it seems similar to problems left hinge that has occurred with the HP DV 9000 and the Pavilion dv7-4070us series.

While the unit was under warranty, we sent it in for repair of hinge, which was covered - so this is the second time in the life of the laptop a two-or-three-year-old who broke the hinges. Needless to say, I'm not impressed by the quality of this laptop case/hinges. (It works well otherwise!). Although the warranty has expired, I hope that customer service can make something low-cost or free given that this seems to be a serious design flaw. (I have some experience with electronic repair and I saw coins on ebay, etc., but I really hope HP can intervene at the plate!)

Thank you! Anyone has the info / similar problems with this model?

    PROBLEM:

The TouchPad works but the light that is usually lit when the touchpad is turned on/off (white/orange) does not work.  I was wondering if there is a way to fix this, or there's someone else with this problem.

OK, this can be marked RESOLVED.

I searched and found an older post with the solution by holding down the FN key and pressing the space bar. The fire came as soon as I did it. Go figure!

Then againg I turn off the computer and its power day following again the same problem. I was to solve this problem by removing cmos battery and put it again for 4 or 5 days. But today this tip does not work. I tried so many method like (Windows key + B), (byholding down the power button for 1 minute), (Flash UEFI) etc. to solve the problem of failure of the bios, nothing worked at all. Try the following directly from Synaptics driver.

I had a failure of hard drive about nothing. Could not restart (HP Pavilion 15 230 her) wouldn't boot and clicked. The ID is U0C40K-76U7AE-MFPV61-60UQ03 (some of the zeros may be 'o', hard to say). Can I fix it myself? Lap top is 3 months old.

    Hello

Error code 24 characters will be a Smart failure or disk Self Test - in both cases, this would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the startup problem you describe.

As always, your laptop will be under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - if necessary, you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United Kingdom, contact HP here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

  • HP Pavilion 14-b109tx: failure of Hard Drive short DST on HP Pavilion 14-b109tx Sleekbook

    Hello

I had a Hard Drive short DST failure on my HP Pavilion 14 - b109tx Sleekbook.

    Product ID: D4B22PA #AB4

    Failure ID: OK2B3L-6QL80X-MFPX1A-6OUDO3

Do I need to have the drive replaced? My warranty status is exceeded.

    Help, please.

    Hello

The error code 24 characters ( 0K2B3L-6QL80X-MFPX1A-6-0UD03) is a faliure of the short test (DST) disk Self and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.

The player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.

    Hard drive 500 GB

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 62 of your & Maintenance Guide.

Once this is done, simply use your recovery media to reinstall the operating system on the new drive - this process is detailed on the following link.

Performing a HP System Recovery - Windows 8

If you do not have your recovery media, you can order a replacement set using the link below.

    Order HP recovery disks.

  • Pavilion dv7 2282eo failure HDD?

I have a year old pavilion dv7 2282eo, which worked great for me all the time I have opposing it, but now he has broken a few difficulties.

Yesterday I went shopping and when I got home all I could see on the screen of comp. was a bluish sort of background and a ugly crusor. I rebooted and got an error message saying that windows had a problem requiring a fixation. He finsihed the start and I got the same blue screen and crusor, but without icons or buttons whatsoever.

Then, I ran a quick test of the hard drive in the BIOS and received the error message "quick (303). Does anyone know what this means? I can solve this problem? Or do I have to get a new hard drive?

Please answer me, I feel a little desperete.

    What is graphic switchable?

    Plug here.

I should also mention that I tried to boot from my recovery CD as well as the recovery partition, but all that happens is that I get the same blue background. I think it's the Windows Installer screen but there is no icons or anything.

    Thanks for the reply!

Switchable graphics is a portable dual graphics solution.  A low-power integrated graphics chip is used on battery. A superior graphical power module is used when connected to the power adapter.

Did you do a test of memory via the BIOS?

The error (303) fast is a prediction of disk failure hard iminent. Which can be solved by replacing the hard drive.

It is also why the recovery disks do not work. Once you have installed a new drive, and the operating system installed and working I can provide a link to a Sofpaq that has the reputation of being able to restore the partition recovery and F11.

  • HP PAVILION 1015TX M6: failure of the BIOS update F.26 F.27

My machine was originally Windows 7 Home Premium, and then when Windows 8 came out, I bought a license for Pro 8.1. Updated the FW since then to F.26A and no problems at all.

Now Windows 10 was released, updated for the new OS, put an SSD to give more subsidy, adding memory and 16 GB is now running on a Micron 256SSD.

Recently, Windows 1607 came out, I got the update and noticed that my internal webcam does not work. I thought about updating everything I can find and saw a new firmware version F.27. Downloaded, run the executable file, looks very promising and then restart that he arrested! If there was a way to do it using a USB via Windows executable, I can do it but it's too late.

Can you please help me restore / recover my BIOS of laptop computers? Now if I turn on my laptop, the screen is blank and I cannot see that the WiFi led is lit in orange. I tried windows + B key too and if I do that I can see the caps lock flashes two times goes off, Wifi led remains lit in orange, then after a few seconds caps lock flashes again. I am so desperate to fix this again and I don't want to throw it.

Can someone in the HP please help or anyone who has the experience to restore / recover my BIOS?

I downloaded sp77669.exe and sp66782.exe, followed steps http://support.hp.com/nz-en/document/c02693833 but it does not give me the next step to extract it on USB, it just runs and tries to attempt to run the executable insyde. Of course it will fail because I use a HP device just for this previous bios on a USB key. Step in here is misleading in some way, because I don't get the option to create the usb bios recovery. I tried to use 7zip to open the executable file and I can find all the files Roma or bin inside.

    I fixed it now! hoooooray!

Here are the steps so I did... and then summarize

    (1) removed the CMOS battery for a day (24 h), battery not attached either.

    2A) set the CMOS battery

2 (b) connected AC, you press the Windows key + B, then held the power button for 3-4 seconds and then release

    (3) did not work

    (4) tried again, repeated step 2, still nothing

I went desperate... you need a HP HDD to another machine that still have the recovery partition.

    (5) power removed, removed my SSD drive temporarily took my netbook HP HARD drive and put it on my computer pavilion laptop of m6.

    (6) repeat step 2

    (7) not working, lock shift always blink and light up orange Wifi signal

    (8) turned off, which held the power button for 30secs or more

    (9) repeated a step 2 again and viola, the LCD turns on again, then I got an invalid checksum error CMOS and says it will reset the bios Setup with its previous version and I saw it from 0 to 100%. I don't have what it does in time so I let him finish and it restarts and started access my OS HARD drive, of course I don't want to start from it, so I just shot it extinguished/turned on and tested so it will try to start now and he did.

    (10) off, place my SSD back and restarted

    (11) happy again...

Just so to be sure it it will always start upward and to confirm what version of bios, ive got, I stopped him again.

Check the bIOS version and I got the latest bios version f.27 LMAO! This thing happened to step 9 0-100% must be a continuation of the update stopped. It didn't reset it instead it just finished off the coast of the update. isn't that great! Perhaps maybe this a defect on the update of hp in the process. (With 1) win10 OS and 2) an SSD is maybe a problem with the update process if you do the OS, I'm just speculating. The operating system that is supported on the site isn't until Win8, although technically, they are the same win8 family and 10 but who knows. I suggest if you got the same setup as mine, do the update regardless of the OS, start from a USB Pendrive and up-to-date in this way if you'll be lucky to find a bootable version.
