Pavilion G6: Intel AC 7260 network card wireless

I want to change my card Atheros wi - fi with this Intel AC 7260 network.

Can anyone tell my, if I need to update my BIOS for my model to install this card?

This is the 3rd generation i7 and all models without whitelist are generation 4 and longer, if you still have it.

Here are your choices:

● Intel Centrino Wireless - N 2230 802.11b/g/n 2 × 2 WiFi and Bluetooth Combo Adapter 670290-001 Atheros HB125 802.11b/g/n 1 × 1 adapter WiFi (some models only) 675794-001 ● Ralink RT3290LE 802.11 b/g/n 1 x 1 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter 690020-001 ● WiFi Ralink RT5390R 802.11 b/g/n 1 × 1 (some models only) 691415-001

The clearly the best choice, but not as good as you had wished:

https://www.Amazon.com/HP-670290-001-Intel-Centrino-wireless-N/DP/B009SOG404/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1465557831&SR=8-1&keywords=670290-001

Only 2.4 GHz, it is double flow for should provide pretty good range.

Do not shoot the Messenger. The white list wasn't my idea and no one is happier to see her go.

You want to upgrade Vista current on this laptop HP for Windows 7 ultimate. I'm upgrading and not install it from scratch.

So here's what I have so far...

    1. the Microsoft compatibility tool indicates that the current driver Intel pro 100 VE network connection is not compatible

    2. the Intel site, it says it does not support the OEM driver - to go to the manufacturer site

    http://www.Intel.com/support/network/adapter/PRO100/sb/CS-025637.htm

    3. the driver found on the driver download area HP.com is compatible with Windows XP only says

  • HP Elitebook 8470p: possible upgrade to Intel AC 7260 802.11ac wireless? HP Elitebook 8470p

I want to improve the wireless card on the 8470 p, and I read that HP has whitelisted some Wi - Fi cards, so only those approved by HP may really work

Now the 8470p is released in 2010 / 2011 (?) - some time then anyway and 802.11ac wasn't really one thing in 2011 (at least not outside the offices of the IEEE)

I found this on the interwebs:

    http://Forum.techinferno.com/HP-business-class-notebooks/6691-installing-wireless-card-Intel-AC-7260...

And this person implies that it would be possible to type in a 802.11ac wireless adapter and it would only work? Thought ID ask the official HP forums, because it's a HP product!

    Thank you

EDIT: The Solution is wrong. See jlong pos

No AC adapters will not work. Only wifi cards that are on the whitelist, that is those in the manual and only ref HP versions of those.

The Intel cards are limited to the Ref. HP versions contrary to the statements of the Wicki guy. There are a few options of 5 GHz, but not 802.11ac cards. Sometimes the cards that are not in the manual will work somehow and I know there is a 7260N that many people confuse for the 7260ac card. I know that the 7260AC will NOT work because we had messages before people here who have tried, but it would not shock me if a 7260N card would work. Cannot promise, however. It is largely a guessing game since the actual whitelist itself has never been made public.

  • Pavilion TS 11 portable WIFI & network card problems!

    Hello!

I bought again notebook Pavilion TS 11 with 8 64-bit windows. His new cell phone. WiFi card and network works fine, after that 1 windows update my wireless connection and interent closing. I try to use every single driver on the hp website - nothing works.

After I configure a new installation of windows 8 since the recovery partition, internet and wifi only ' works from the beginning.

He said: do not work driver for network card and wifi.

Can someone help me out here?

    It's interesting.

Wifi connection in the systray icon, as seen usually indicates that there is a wifi connection. Click on it to see if it shows a connection.  Is the wifi led lit and white instead of amber?  Can you put a picture of the device manager that shows the wireless network card?

An option would be to connect the CAT5 cable to your router or modem, and then use the HP Support Assistant.  Click on the HP icon in the toolbar start the HP Support Assistant. Take a look at the section updates and optimizations. You can click on it to find the driver ojnthe HP Server support as long as you have an internet connection.

  • Want to 6-1100sl: network card wireless 6-1100sl want disappeared

Hi, I bought an Envy6 fantastic 1100sl in 2014. Used only to work with a small charge. However, all of a sudden my (Ralink) wireless card stopped working and out of my system and its peripherals. Now, seeing the wlan led is always RED (also if the airplane mode is off). Tried to remove and reinstall (several times) the driver official of http://support.hp.com/it-it/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-ultrabook-6-1100/5296040/model/5305952#Z7_30... but it is not worked, and now the only way to use it wireless using an external USB wireless network card.

I'm waiting for a new SSD to accelerate my ultrabook; I will try to do a clean install of windows on my new SSD 10 hoping to operate the integrated Ralink Wireless card in return.

    My questions:

I try a trick to revive this material before new clean install?

What can I do if after the clean install the wlan card still does not appear?

    Thank you

    Salvatore

    Hello @cospps,

    Thanks for the information!

I understand that you have performed the test hardware on the WLAN Module, and he said that the card was not installed.  I understand that you checked the map, to see if it is properly installed.  If you're still having problems, then you can consider replacing the WLAN Module.  You might want to test the card on another compatible device.  I hope this helps.

    Kind regards!

"Your wireless network card stopped working b/c a compatible driver is not availablle for this version of windows."

Where can I go to load a compatible driver for Vista?  Thanks :)

    Hello

First you connect to the computer support page and download the latest drivers for Vista.

    Install the drivers.

    --------------------

Take the following steps to verify the installation.

Check the Device Manager for the wireless card valid entry.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a network icon/entry wireless connection, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_connection_tcp.jpg

    ------------------

The wireless card drivers much also install utility wireless of the seller.

Make sure that if there are teas from Wireless Utility of seller does not work with the native Windows wireless utility (Service WLAN).

    ----------------

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible set up the firewall correctly, otherwise totally uninstall and get rid of its remaining processes that permit the own local network traffic flow.

If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

party like Hello and NetMagic 3rd network managers can block local traffic too.

    ---------------------------

Stack TCP/IP work should look like.

Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/status-NIC.jpg

Description is the data of the card making.

The physical address is MAC of the card number.

The xx must be a number between 0 and 255 (all xx even number).

YY should be between 0 and 255

ZZ should be between 0 and 255 (zz all the same number.)

The date of the lease must be valid at the present time.

    * Note 1. IP that starts with 169.xxx.xxx.xxx isn't valid functional IP.

    * Note 2. There could be an IPv6 entries too. However, they are not functional for Internet or LAN traffic. They are necessary for Win 7 homegroup special configuration.

    ---------------------------------------------------

A message in the small window that says connected wireless doesn't means that you are really a valid functional connection.

Above everything is OK, you must be able to connect to the router.

Connection to the router means that you can enter the IP of the router base in an address bar in one go, being able to connect and configure the router menus see.

If it doesn't connect to the router, journal newspaper from any computer that can connect to the router wirelessly with a wire, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless SSID broadcast is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.

Enable security wireless after you eat to make a functional connection.

  • HP ENVY 17-j005tx Notebook PC: network card wireless Intel N 2230 sporadic but recurrent connection Wi Fi problems. Which driver to use?

I have an old HP Envy computer of 12 months with a 2230 Intel® Centrino® wireless-N wireless adapter.

In the last 6 months, the PC has suffered sporadic but recurrent problems of WiFi connection with the failure of the connection or drop-outs. The PC connects to the router, but fails to obtain or maintain an IP address. It has been with Intel driver version 15.12.0.6, pilot day February 25, 2014, installed by Windows Update, on June 16, 2014.

When I contacted HP support on January 9, 2015, I have been instructed to download the software from the HP Web site. This driver has an HP publication date of 1 November 2013 and installed the driver version 15.10.0.12 with a release date of June 25, 2013.

Updated Windows ran later that day there and I wanted to install the drivers updated Windows 8.1

    • Important update - update the Intel driver for Intel® Centrino® wireless-N 2230 published on 17/10/2013, 2.4 MB
    • Optional update - update the Intel driver for Intel® Centrino® wireless-N 2230 published 07/10/2014, 101.9 MB

If Windows Update has been set to automatic the provided HP driver would likely have immediately deleted by Microsoft update.

The Intel Web site offers the 15.14.0.1 or 15.14.0.2 driver version as the last driver for the adapter N-2230 but Intel "recommends obtain you and use the software provided by the manufacturer of your laptop. (even if it's more than a year to date)

It's very complicated to have the latest version on the Intel site, older versions installed by Microsoft Update and even older versions on the HP website.

If the user must install the OEM version, how the user to treat Microsoft Update overwriting the OEM version?

    Which driver should be used?

Why didn't the driver software HP Support was updated to resolve known issues with this wireless card driver?

HP would provide only a pilot who has been tested on the device that is installed on a particular type of material.

Intel would release the driver first, but then it would take some time for HP to the test pilot and release it to the public for use on their units. Some customizations can apply in order to get the driver to work on the material.
