Pavilion model: 17-f114dx: memory upgrade

My new laptop with 6 GB of RAM, I would like to upgrade, but some say documentation 6 GB is the maximum.
Tell me crucial it will load 16 GB. Why can I only the memory?

Hello

First you see not laptop with 6 GB of RAM max, can be a few percent elsewhere but not non-normal life. In any case, your machine supports 16 GB of RAM as mentioned in the following book:

http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04427554.PDF

You cannot replace yourself, this will void the warranty (you can do what you want when it's out of warranty). You must 'authorized service parts provider' add RAM to you as indicated page #69 the manual above. If it is out of warranty, you can buy some Crucial RAM and replace yourself using the information on page #104.

Kind regards.

  • Pavilion Sleekbook 15-B142DX memory upgrade

Hello, I recently bought and installed an upgrade of DDR3 4 GB memory for my Pavilion Sleekbook 15-B142DX. It is PNY PC3-10666, chip of 4GB which says it's compatible with 1333 MHz and 1066 MHz I booted the laptop after the installation of the new chip, but reports still 4 GB of physical memory, msinfo and other online tests. Yet once, I opened the computer suspect that the chip was not fully connected. While there, I pass the tasks of the 1st round and the new stick. The computer registers yet only 4 GB of physical memory. Did I buy an incompatible chip or it's probably another problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Paul,.

I received a HP technical support solution. The chipset you recommended works very well (thanks again). Here is the solution, in case anyone has the same problem with this model:

    (1) I removed the new chipset

    (2) I started the computer and went to menu BIOS setup > Boot Options > Secure Boot (those may not be the exact names)

    (3) switched start safe for people with reduced mobility.

    (4) reinstalled the new chipset

    (5) on the machine

    (6) checked to make sure that the computer record 8 GB

    (7) turned Secure Boot on

Ensure that the computer has saved 8 GB 8) Made

  • HP Pavilion dv7t Entertainment PC Memory Upgrade Question

Product name: HP Pavilion dv7t-2000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC

    PRODUCT # NB444AV

OSOriginally installed: Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium

Currently installed OS: Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium

When I bought the laptop, HP included a "FREE upgrade to 4 GB DDR2 memory (2 Dimm) 2 GB DDR2 memory (2 Dimm) system system'. I don't check then. Now, when it is slow, I checked the memory installed by 'Start-> computer-> (right click)-> properties-> installed memory (RAM). It shows that 2 GB.

I'm baffled why it shows only 2 GB of RAM now, when HP was supposed to install 4 GB. In any case, I would like to upgrade memory now.  I have referred to as "HP Pavilion dv7 Entertainment PC. Maintenance and Service Guide "."  He describes the memory Module as:

    Spare part number description
    Memory 2048 MB (1-DIMM 667 MHz, PC2-6400),: 480382-001

My question: can I use a 4 GB Kit (2GBx2) DDR2 800 MHz (PC2-6400) SODIMM 200 pin notebook Modules memory in the crack avialable? Memory at 800 MHz won't be compatible with 667 MHZ memory?

I can't install module memory 2 x 4 GB to 8 GB? Will it be recognized by the card mother/BIOS/Windows?

Thank you for your expert advice.

    You are the very welcome.

Please see Chapter 4, page 54.

It seems to me that there are two memory slots (one almost on top of the other). Take a look at the illustration.

This is why the memory in Chapter 1 specifications indicate that you can install up to 8 GB of memory (2 x 4 GB).

You can install a single chip PC2-6400 4 GB and leave the one you have in there now.

It comes to the module memory 4 GB good cheaper brand I could find.

  • HP Notebook 15 model J2X73UA #A: Memory Upgrade

The invoice of WALMART shows "HP 15 F028WM' as the model - but the HP Support assistant offers a model # J2X73UA #ABA. He is currently having only one SAMSUNG 1600 4 GB of ram (SODIMM)?  installed. The CPU is a style of APU AMS-5000 A4 with integrated graphics RADEON HD. As with all MS Windows, it suffers from being a bit light on memory.

Guide the user treats adding a second SODIMM for better performance and decision-making support dual channel. Can it be replaced with a density greater than one or more RAM chip (s) to reach 8 GB (or even 16 GB)?   I love the system and the built-in DVD/CD burner. A link to the service manual would be appreciated.

    Thank you

PS... I have an anti-static bracelet and know enough to be able to, and remove the battery before performing any upgrade!

Your model has at least one door of memory accessible customer on the bottom. It's the square Panel that you remove with a screw. The manual on this series turns out to be inaccurate in several versions and particular models of Wal-Mart. Many have just a single memory slot. In my view, the yours is perhaps one of them. Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual link

Installation memory is shown on page 30. Even if the laptop has only one location, we had reports of success with the replacement of the 4 GB module with a module of 8 GB. If there's a slot open, that's fine, and obviously all what you need to do is to add a second 4 GB module up to a total of 8 GB. Pay attention to the installed memory. Here is a picture of the 4 GB module to be installed in your laptop computer based on HP REF.

It's 1600 DDR3L which means low voltage 1.35 volts not 1,5 volt and it is the low density memory that you can tell from the 8 black blocks instead of 4. In order to do not buy 4 block 1.5 volt memory buy 8 block of 1.35 volts. Open it first and see if you need to buy a 4 GB module or a module of 8 GB. If there's any position of confusion remaining back for assistance.

Can I upgrade the memory in my dv6 - 6047cl from 8 to 16 GB?

Yes because it is an Intel processor:

Of course, the question is why? 16 gigs is overkill for most people who use never totally 8 gigs. The money could be better spent on an SSD. But yes you can upgrade to the modules of 2 x concert 8 or 16 GB of DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM memory.

The manual tells how to make and references HP for the upgrade of memory.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I suggest stick with 5300 because it's the plug that came with the notebook and won't have any problems working. But if you are really specific to get a little faster you can go for the 6400.

The pages of OS system information and Device Manager the list just like a g6 pavilion, and the physical label on the back of the camera is not even go that far.  It does not list the item such as a 584037-001, whatever that means.  How can I know which (the suffix xxxx g6) my g6 is in fact so I can identify the best modules of memory for an upgrade?

    Davdik10

You have a laptop HP Pavilion 2002au g6. Unfortunately you happened to choose a laptop that is not so simple to upgrade.

You will need to contact an online memory provider and ask them for help to find a guaranteed compatible 8 GB upgrade or buy the upgrade from HP.

Search for suppliers of memory online using Google or Bing and ""memory upgrade HP Pavilion g6-2002au ' as keywords. " I strongly recommend that you don't settle for anything memory compatible modules less guaranteed by well known memory manufacturers.

  • Max Memory Upgrade for Pavilion a810y

How can I find the AMT of max memory I can put in my Pavilion a810y?  It of sites that say 4 GB and other telling that to 2 GB.  Is the real answer please stand up.

    Hello:

Your PC would have the Intel 915 chipset.

If the motherboard has no memory, each with 1 GB of memory, 2 slots then you're at the max.

Locations of Intel 915 chipset memory cannot manage more than 1 GB of memory.

The crucial memory upgrade link I posted said your PC had 4 locations of memory, so that the info is wrong.

If you upgrade to W7, I recommend you only go with the 32-bit version on your PC.

A 64-bit system requires more disk space and memory to run as a 32-bit system doesn't work - not double, but, with only 2 GB of memory, a 32 bit OS will perform a little better that will be a 64 bit OS, but who is to you.
