Pavilion sleekbook 14pc: WINDOWS updates to DAY AS DOWNLOAD, BUT DO WILL NOT INSTALL
my windows update will not work. He says that it is impossible to proceed with the installation and changes are undone.
everything seems to be quite appropriate when cking pc settings, HOWEVER, my HP Support Assistant was correct info to the bottom of the page where it says that I need a new ID for the operating system. I should just close the wizard checks to see if that will work around this info and maybe allow the updates downloaded install OR am I following a false trail?
I lost hours and hours for months trying to find a solution to this CHALLENGE without talking about money spent on assistance and programs that were supposed to address.
Has anyone else had such a challenge. Y at - it a solution?
Thank you

Windows Installer keeps trying to install msi.status but it will not install
Windows Installer keeps trying to install msi.status but it will not install and I think he got the other updates to the installation. How difficult or get rid of it?
Hello
In my view, that it is a software HP printer problem. Please, try the following:If you have the HP software on your PC support (printers, etc.)
the disc when the pop-up window displays a location '1'. Click Browse
then open the HP disc in the CD drive. A named icon status should
appear. Click on this icon and load. This will get rid of the
Status.msi loop.If you do not have the original disc. Uninstall HP Photosmart all-in-One Driver software and HP update program - then only reinstall the HP Photosmart all-in-One Driver software. Do not update, just live with it. The web link for the full features of the software download is provided below.

Mother upgrade and cpu card. Had to clean install Vist Home Premium for the new configuration to recognize my old HD. Moved all my files and folders from the old folder to the new installation windows. Update down loaded and installed more than 100 updates. Some were unsuccessful. Installed SP1 and SP2. Checked today to see if new updates are available, and that's when I got the code. Second time I tried to check is when he says update windows needs new software to check updates. Tried 11 times and each time it could not reopen the window update and in the history of its States that it is impossible to install. Have searched high and low on the site of MS and the web without success. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have create a new PC and installed Windows & Pro 64-bit. While some offer programs install both 32-bit and 64-bit as a single installation and the installation of the program checks it should install. A few programs installed 32-bit when I said to use the 64-bit. I received a message that I had a 32 bit OS and that it could not install the 64-bit version. How can I ensure that the 64-bit version is always installed when it is available. I have a program that I need it's 32-bit however.
I also installed Office 2010 and want to know how to check if it installed 32-bit or 64-bit.All this is because I'm about to build a new PC for my wife and want to avoid these problems right at the front with it.Thank youDougIf you buy a commercial version of win7 you are provided with the installation dvd of bit versions and a unique activation key. You cannot install both versions.
Most of the programs will install without problem in a 64-bit version of victory, there is very little that will not be installed on Windows 64-bit.
You install programs as usual, you don't need to change any settings or install to anywhere other than their default locations. -C' IE you do not manually select the x 86 folder or any other folder.
If the program you are installing has the ability to install a specific version of bit, and it does not work, then the problem is that options program installers, you must contact the program support
A retail version of Office 2010 also comes with two versions of ILO.
Having a 64-bit version of victory does NOT mean that you need to install 64-bit Office, in fact MS recommends that stick you with 32-bit Office (reason being compatibility with various plug0ins Office)
And of course the 32-bit version of win only supports 4 GB of memory

Windows Messenger appears in Sys tray, but it is not installed
The subject line pretty much captures the issue. From Add/Remove Programs-> Windows components, it is clear that Windows Messenger is not checked and therefore SHOULD not be installed on startup, even it it is in the system tray.
System:
Sony Vaio w / Intel Pentium
WinXP w/SP3 and all updates
Messenger does not exist in Program files, or anywhere in the start menu for that matter. To open it from the Systray and go through all the Options, I can't find any switch to prevent it from running.
Use the Regedit and deleted under HKLM/software/microsoft/currentversion/run.
Messenger out of the Systray and removed Messenger Program Files folder.
