Nope - you need the 32-bit Java to go with the 32-bit Firefox, if you want that Java run

The 32-bit version supports 4 GB of RAM?

    Which should I use?

    Hello

32-bit Windows (what Windows OS is not matter) supports max 3.2 GB of RAM
Even if the laptop could use more RAM, Win 32 bit is capable of using only 3.2 GB

That is why it s recommended to use the 64-bit version due to the limitation of the RAM in 32-bit

which is closed/locked, and had no correct answer.

I just bought a Toshiba L750. After learning of the default Windows 7 installed is Windows 32 bit, I decided to go Recovery Wizard from Toshiba upgrade to 64 - bit. However, the process is stuck to the system performance of note, that repeated several times for 2 hours.

Given that I guessed that screen performance of system just note one full screen of a normal process of Windows, so I pressed the button Windows start to display the taskbar which showed a component of Adobe installation process has failed. In any case, I clicked on the install Adobe on the taskbar button and close the window.

The note system performance then continued with about 10 steps ahead after 15 minutes. All well done.

So the trick is to close a window of the installation components that get stuck. Hope this helps some Toshiba laptop users out so hard.

A suggestion from bits to the team of Toshiba laptop:
The full screen of the Recovery Wizard is good to hide technical details from users. However, if hang in some components, like the Adobe component I've seen, this will be confusing and advises current defects if the end-user following some in the thread above, legacy because of some missing components and the wrong configuration. It is preferable that the wizard of recovery to exit full screen at a given time, or the wizard handles error scenarios better.

  • How will I know if the processor is 64-bit

I am looking to buy a laptop Toshiba Satellite A series and said that I should get only one with a 64-bit processor because what it takes for the Microsoft Vista work properly and anything else will be obsolete as soon as next year.

I looked on the website of intel to get numbers of processors, but they don't seem to even not list all the numbers on the models for sale and it is especially goobley gook for me!

    Help!

You comment is not 100% good.
The fact is that Microsoft has designed Vista 32 bit and Vista 64-bit.

If you use the Vista 32 bit with a 64-bit processor you won't see a better or faster performance. Therefore, you can simply use the Vista 32 bit on the laptop with 32-bit processor with the same performance.

Of course if you are going to buy a laptop with 64-bit processor I advise to use the Vista 64-bit. You know it; Let's go all the way. ;)

But as much as I know Toshiba does not own notebooks with Vista 64 bit and you will find also all Toshiba compatible drivers for Vista 64-bit.

So now, my last question: why you want to buy a laptop with 64-bit processor?

PS: You can check the CPU specifications in the control panel or you are going to use a tool of diagnosis as Everest

  • Re: Satellite A200-1DY: is the difference between 32-bit & 64-bit BIOS

I have laptop Satellite A200 and I doubt if there are differences between Vista 32 and 64 of the Bios. Or is the same Bios?

My question is because in the last days I installed Home Premiun 64 bits, but my Bios is for Vista 32-bit, but everything works fine on the laptop.

Should I change the Bios for 64-bit or 32-bit Bios should I leave?

    Thank you

    Hi again ;)

I think that there is a difference between the two versions of the BIOS; 32-bit and 64-bit, but please don t ask me what exactly is the difference. ;)
I didn t find details on the differences.

I guess that the BIOS 64-bit supports 64-bit processors and the 64-bit software benefits, but it is only a hypothesis

However, I think that you don t need to go to the BIOS version of 64-bit if your laptop running stable and using the 32-bit version without problem.

  • Satellite A660: Where can I find the x 86 (32-bit) drivers?

    Hello

I did a hard disk image of my old laptop Toshiba A210 with Windows 7 32 bit and wanted to transfer to the new laptop.
But where can I find the software and 32-bit drivers for laptop A660?

    Hello

I found only three drivers in the list of drivers Win 7 32 bit.
I guess most of the drivers are for Win 64 bit it makes no sense to use 32 bit Windows 7 due to the problem of 3.2 GB RAM so I recommend you stay with Win 7 64 bit

However, try released drivers for L500 or A350 series there are a lot of 32-bit drivers

  • What are the options for 3 bit for Hw_Arm_Sel in PCI-6601 field

    Hello

I'm programming our own driver to operate the PCI-6601. For our application, we need option arms material. I know, it is possible to use 2 counters for this, but NEITHER-TIO also supports hw_arm. Although it is not explained in the registration document at all, after some tedious verification in the DDK examples I found that the pieces are in the Gi register metering mode. I know that the position of the HW_enable as well as the position of the 3 options sellect bits PIN. What I don't know is what are the options of 3 bits for Hw_Arm_Sel field. I contacted the support NEITHER, but received no support. How can NEITHER sell boards and when a customer who doesn't use LAbview or Measurement Studio, or DDK, but implements its own driver is then so arrogant at least of NOR? Also, how can OR publish only a part of the records of the Board of support and when a customer contacts and request for some records do not get supported at all? I can't predict the missing records, and he is professional enough to document comes in part from records of 660 x Instruments. And, upon request, you have nothing.

I hope that someone from the community are aware of this Hw_Arm_Sel 3 pin option. Otherwise, there is just one option of the error and the trial. Or simply throw away the jury.

    Dr. Kirco Arsov

Hey, sory for the delay in my response. It works and it works very well with the description of Joe and Joe, thanks for your great help. I greatly appreciate. Now we finally also have this option as we wanted it and it works fine.

  • calibrate the values of 12-bit ADC

I'd like to understand how to convert integer values of a 12-bit ADC in tensions. I use a box NI USB-6008 in differential input mode. It is 12 bits of resolution in differential mode.  I use a simple VI to collect 100 samples of the differential analog input voltage 0 (AI0).  When I connect AI0 + and -AI0, the tension between them must be zero.  When I traced the number returned by the routine of the CQI data, I see-32768 values most of the time over a few jumps to + 32752.  When to convert format I16 U16 format numbers. I see values ot + 32 768 for the most part, as well as a few jumps to + 32752.See attached shot of front block diagram of the display panel.

Looks like Labview add 4 zeros at the end of the right hand of the binary number 12 bit returned by CDA.  Is there a simple way to make ADC return numbers like 0, + 1, -1, when the voltage is about zero?  I could do the following:

1 convert the values returned by the ADC since I16 to U16.

    2 divide by 16.

    3 subtract 2048.

I teach students about the basics of analog digital conversion, and I don't want to have to explain this clumsy scheme, if I can avoid it.

    Thank you.

    Bill

    Hi Bill,

Looks like you've discovered the complement representation two that LabVIEW uses to represent signed integers. Not adjusted data are drawn directly on the hardware registers and are represented as they are on the unit.

If you want to convert the values, you can convert as you have indicated. You can also take the opportunity to explain the complement to two of them if it's as part of your course, or you can just put the arithmetic in a VI if you want to hide.

If you look at the unsigned values, you could also explain to them that it is in the voltage range, the value is.

For example, 16-bit unsigned gives a range of 0-65535. If you have selected the voltage range is-10 to + 10 v. If you have 0V, so you should expect a reading around 32768.

Here's the wikipedia article on the complement of two for reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two's_complement

  • SMU-8431/8 RS-422 serial card sends the wrong number of bits

I use a card series SMU-8431/8 RS-422 configuration for talking to a camera that has the speed of transmission parameters following 38400, 7 data bits, 1 stop bit, odd parity. I confirmed that the device certainly has these settings I can communicate with him using a separate Linux PC.

When I try to use the serial port of EITHER the device does not react. Then, I connected the serial port OR on my Linux PC to see which sent the port NO. It is garbage. Nonprinting characters, control commands and the other characters are converted (for example I send the ascii character '1' and get the ascii character 'a').

I made sure to add the terminating resistor 120 ohm NI RX + RX-lines and as mentioned in other posts on these forums, but it is only for the reception and did not solve the problem.

I put a scope on the TX + and TX-lines from the map OR track seems reasonable that sent bits is correctly 38400 and voltage levels are correct moving between +/-3V. What I've noticed, is that the map series, NEITHER seems to be send to the 11 data bits. I expect 10-bit (1 start bit, 7 data, 1 parity, and 1 stop). I changed to 8 and then 6 bits of data and the total number sent passes to 12, then 10, respectively.

I get the same behavior if I use Labview screws, Panel VISA for the port of MAX, or to remove the software NOR entirely and use Hyperterminal. This would seem to indicate that the problem is something in the settings of low level on the card itself.

I tried a second SMU-8431/8 card and the same results, this isn't a fault map (may be two defective cards, I guess!).

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks in advance,

    Ian

Discovered it was: used a scope to view the track both the Linux PC and the serial port OR to compare. The trace OR was significantly longer than the Linux. When I measured the width of the track OR whole, it worked to have a frequency of about 33 000, or much less that the 38400 assigned him. I was getting the wrong characters every bit of data from the port because NEITHER was out of sync with the Linux PC.

I increased the port baud rate NOR and found that setting in 45 000 made it align correctly the Linux PC and I now the communication between the two devices.

For the record, I don't have the terminating resistor 120 ohm or the anchor line to be included in the cable series between ports OR and Linux.

  • A link to download the development for the LV 2009 64-bit software

We have a license for the 32-bit version of the development and the app Builder. According to NOR gives us rights to the 2009 64-bit also. I can't find a download of the system Base 64 bits 2009 dev. I see F2 and F3 patch? I guess that there is a basic first installation, then the patches. Any help is appreciated
