Pavillion P-7 - 1236 s: Windows 10 House and HP printers

Hello I have a HP Desktop 3000 printer J310 series. It worked fine with windows 7 and 8.1 but not with windows 10 home. I tried to print an envelope, but some of the letters were missing or broken up. I ran a test page and printed lines have been superimposed and some of the police was off again. I did everything what I ran a diagnosis place dated drivers and still nothing. So I got windows 10 out and the printer works well again. The one you suggest a way to solve this problem. I keep windows 10 my computer off until I know he will workwith 10. I hope someone can help. Thanks lee

Hi @redrabbitt,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see you had some printing problems with your HP Deskjet 3000 printer on Windows 10. And I'm happy to help you!

According to this guide, Windows 10 compatible printers, it lists this printer as being compatible with Windows 10. It is possible that maybe was a conflict pilot, maybe a problem with the software you use to print from, could be a number of reasons.

If Windows 10 was installed I would have suggested to try our HP print and Scan Doctor, as well as the following steps:

(These steps works on Windows 10.)

If you decide to try Windows 10, here are the steps I recommend you to try.

Good luck!

  • I can't download Windows Live, Skype and AVG antivirus. Problem with firewall or IE 8?

My Eee PC 1000HE is insalled with Windows XP and Service Pack 3. I tried to download the Windows Live, Skype and AVG antivirus without success because they said that they could not detect my internet connections. I tried it on my workplace and my house so I think this isn't the router issue, it is the configuration on my computer. Also, I discovered that even I have disabled the windows firewall on my computer, the Security Center has always indicated that at least part of the firewall is still on. How to identify and disable firewall? Could this be a problem with IE8? I have to manually configure anything? I thank you and appreciate your help.

If after your turn off the Windows Firewall, it shows that you have firewall, it means you want running an other firewall? You run any internet security software?

You can try to reset internet explore (Tools-> internet option-> advance tab, then reset) and see if the problem is resolved. Alternatively, you can try to contact your ISP and ask them for help, they could provide you with the configuration information.

The installed version of Windows XP is a Volume License.

The key used is one that was never issued by MS and was therefore generated by KeyGen tool a hacker.

The installed version of Office is also authentic, being based on a key that was stolen from MS and rekeased to the internet in 2002/3.

You must find your legitimate key for Windows XP Pro and then use the product key update tool to change the key to that - or reinstall the operating system after a reformat with a legitimate disc and a license.

  • Two questions about OEM Windows XP Professional and a purchasing office.

I have three assembled desktop systems running Windows XP Professional OEM, two of which are at goal (running Office home and student) and the other for business purposes (mounted on 6 Jan with Office 2010 30 day trail)

First question: the first computer at my home a spindle of 775 Intel Core2Duo processor running Windows XP Professional OEM. Can I upgrade the CPU Core2Quad so that my BONES can be reactivated.

Second question: the second computer to my home has Asus 845 chipset motherboard, processor 2.26 GHz celeron. I fixed my motherboard twice for swollen capacitors. If my motherboard fails, the professional edition OEM XP be reactivated on motherboard of second hand I buy with the same processor.

Third question: I have an assembled computer running Windows 7 OEM for commercial purposes. As my period of office trail will expire I want to buy Office. I use only three products in Office package (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Can I use Home and Student Edition for my business purpose. Can I get (and where I can buy) package of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint only for businesses. I do not use one note, Outlook, Publisher, etc. available in Office Professional edition.

    (1) can you change the processor. Yes, activation should not be necessary if you make any other changes.

    (2) n ° OEM product is related to the first motherboard that it is installed on (except if it is replaced with the exact same brand and model).

  • Problems faxes sent using Windows - Windows XP - Windows XP printing and fax

I have Windows Fax properly installed under Windows XP SP3 with Aztech SoftK56 Data Fax PCI Modem (manufacturer CXT).  The modem receives incoming faxes, but does not send.  The Fax Console States that there is 'No response' to fax numbers that were entered correctly and I first rang just to check if they are indeed the fax number and if they work. This has been attempted without dialing rules, as well as the rules of composition and is still a problem.

Fax numbers that I tried to send to are of the format: -.

    1 020-7833-nnnn 2.  020-07380-nnnnnn 3.  01324 - nnnnnn

NB. an attempt was when the Fax Console has awarded occupied status "line".  It was too fake I think.

Device Manager indicates that the Fax Modem works properly.  I agree completely with this.

The Fax Modem receives incoming messages that suggest that the Modem is compatible with Windows Fax under Windows XP SP3 and I should also be able to send messages using Windows Fax.

Have you the XP community and other suggestions?

Problems with faxing using Windows Fax in Windows XP seems to have been a problem for a number of people.  However, there is no published statement of a solution that I can find.

Fax services Windows XP is not a very robust application.  The usual answer to questions such as yours is, "If the modem is not on the compatibility list hardware Windows XP, then it probably won't work with Services of Fax XP."  The problem with such a response is that the XP HCL (or whatever Microsoft changed its name to) is no longer available, and even if that were the case, you probably couldn't find one of the modems listed to sell more.

Your phone numbers are clearly not to the United States.  In the United Kingdom perhaps?  If you are using dialing rules, so the number called and the call number must be included in the 'canonical form'http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318575/

With the American numbers, this means that they would look like this: + 1 (202) 456-1414 (standard White House). If you call a London phone number, it could be something like this: + 44 (020) 7782-5000 (Sunday Times).

I'm sure that you must sign, almost certainly you need parentheses and don't know the spaces and dashes. For this reason, I don't usually use dialing rules.

When you leave the area for numbering rules uncontrolled, you must enter the phone number EXACTLY as you would if you were composing a normal phone using the line to which the modem is connected.

Try to send a fax to your phone (mobile or not, it is not serious).  Is called ringtone? When answer you, you hear fax tones?

Based on your answers to the above, we can (or cannot) be able to move forward in order to diagnose your problem.

  • Lost my disc Windows 7 Ultimate and have to re - activate. Can Microsoft support it look for me?

I lost my CD of Windows 7 Ultimate and my motherboard got fried by a wave when lightning strikes near my house.    After a new motherboard, processor and installed memory, she asks me to turn it back on and I don't have the key.  As I have previously activated this product, Microsoft cannot pick up and tell me what it is?  I wouldn't buy a license just because I lost the drive, should I?  Isn't that part of the reason why we register and activate in the first place?  I can't afford to buy it again!

    Any suggestions?

  • Microsoft has employees or contractors call peoples houses and make repair unsolicited requests?

Recently I received two calls from people who say they work for windows saying that something is wrong with my computer.  The first guy ended up trying to sell me a package of protection.  The second guy who never had until now because I did not.  The question is this.  Microsoft has employees or contractors call peoples houses and make repair unsolicited requests?  This question is not to accuse Microsoft anything, but is designed to help me decide if these calls come from someone with no connection to Microsoft trying to take advantage of me.  Thank you.

No, Microsoft did not do. It's a scam and with various

In addition to their money get on your part to do anything of any value,
If you leave them in your computer, who knows what they were doing or where
    What confidential information they stole.

So if you have done so, I highly recommend that you do both of the following
    immediately:

1 do a clean reinstall of Windows.

    2. change all of your passwords, especially banks or other
    financial sites.
