  I'm embarrassed to say that after all these years I manually choose my portfolio of images in Lightroom and know that there is a much easier way.  What is the best way to mark the portfolio images and then retrieve them as a group?  I can't use the star ratings that I use these for internal sorting on employment.

  Keywords would be the best way to go, i.e. Enter 'portfolio' or 'the portrait portfolio' for selected images?

  How would you then access the entire catalog and search on these terms?

  You can use keywords, color labels, choose the flags, or any searchable metadata field. There is no 'best '. They all work.

  Click on all the pictures and then the filter or smart collections bar will allow you to do research and create the portfolio.

  In June I paid extra for Fusion 2 with free updates for 12 months. I think that should cover me for the 3 fusion upgrade, but there is no mention of how to go about doing this on the Web site.

  I use node-oracledb.

  I get an error when you try to use a portfolio to connect to a database: ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid; denied connection

  When I use the options of connection like that I get the error: {connectString: "mynetservicename", externalAuth: true}

  I think that portfolio must be configured correctly - at least to some extent - because I can connect even if ASP.NET with a connection like this string: "Data Source = mynetservicename; User Id =; Persist Security Info = True; ».

  Is there something that needs to be configured so that "externalAuth" node-oracledb will work with the portfolio? Since externalAuth is not just for the portfolio, I guess there must be a configuration - variable environment or additional connection option properties - to control this, but I can't find them.   EDIT: never mind: it was a problem with the credentials in the wallet. I thought that the portfolio was OK because it worked in the ASP.NET environment. But as I was going through it again, I realized that the ASP.NET connection string was actually specifying a different service name.

  The problem was found to be obsolete references in the wallet + I was confused when I thought I had checked the credentials of portfolio were good.
