  Perceived luminance vs lightness vs Gamma. It would never work using this rudimentary silent process. You will need to adjust the points black and white using the settings of levels or curves and remove the Gamma bias for a proper linear tint. You would also get much better results by converting the image to Lab color mode and allows you to manually adjust the a and b components while maintaining the luminance.

  In my opinion, you should contact the Toshiba ASP.
  Usually after registration for laptop, the guarantee must be valid for 2 years and all part replacements must be covered there warranty.
